I need a Shred buddy

Brahbrah · 20/03/2011 13:49

I had a Shred buddy but she knackered her knees. It turns out I have no self-motivation at all as I haven't done it once since she stopped.

Anyone looking at a neglected copy of the 30 Day Shred and want to buddy up? We had managed to get to day 10 and had just moved up to level 2 when we stopped, but I'm happy to start again at day 1.

Not much required, just a daily check in to say, 'yep, done it for today, how about you?'

Whaddya say?

Othersideofthechannel · 24/06/2011 16:18

Thanks PattheHammer
Day 39 here.
Just realised the kids break up at the end of next week so I'll be able to fit in a longer workout on some days. I'll probably get one of the longer JM DVDs.

desertgirl · 24/06/2011 23:18

Oh pat the hammer, did you have to shatter my illusions? I couldn't do every day this week anyway (work full time and have 2 under 5 - if I'm busy in the evening as well I just don't have the time (or perhaps the energy). I don't have such excuses this week, had better buckle down to it.

Othersideofthechannel · 27/06/2011 21:56

So who's still Shredding this week?

desertgirl · 28/06/2011 04:04

me :)

tried level 2 yesterday for a bit of variety - definitely need to find some lighter weights for the v raises! just did not manage to keep going in that part. And kept having to stop for a moment just to figure out what they were actually doing. Still felt like I'd worked hard though!

Othersideofthechannel · 28/06/2011 21:40

Yes, after 40 shred sessions, those V raises are the only ones I can't do with the 2k weights.

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 04/07/2011 11:51

Hello can I join you shreddies please? Would love to share some support to help keep me motivated!

I am just starting the shred again, had one previous attempt a week or two back but life got in the way and it fizzled out after about 4-5 days.

But this time I am serious about keeping it up, done 2 days so far and I know I can't do it today (going to be out pretty much all day) but hopefully that's the only day this week I will miss. Still on level 1 obviously, but using 2k weights as that was all I had hidden at the back of a cupboard so some bits are pretty evil!

One question, did anyone else find they got bigger/heavier when they first started? I just seem to have put ON a bit more weight despite trying to exercise and eat a bit better, and also my clothes seemed tighter than usual this morning - but one of the places was round my arms so I am hoping it might just be the startings of some muscles rather than putting on more lard??

Othersideofthechannel · 04/07/2011 21:32

Hi Inigo!
Prepare to die Grin

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 04/07/2011 23:04

Is that when I get to level 2 then? Grin

goingwiththeflow · 15/07/2011 22:45

might be a late starter! .. only just ordered DVD (thanks to MN otherwise would have never heard of it)..but thats a step nearer I suppose ..I shall follow this thread for inspiration Wink

mugglelady · 21/07/2011 08:53

Anyone still doing this? If so, I wouldn't mind joining you from Monday (will need the weekend to find the dvd!!)....

Clarence15 · 23/07/2011 12:33

Yes I'm up to day 11, I love it! Its hard but getting (slightly) easier so it must be working.

mugglelady · 24/07/2011 07:55

If I get to day 11 Clarence it will be a miracle, but I'll give it a good go!!

Brianstorm · 09/08/2011 21:31

Hi again. Scundered that it's taken me so long to get back. Building work, family wedding, then family holiday and finally buggered knee have all seen me off. Going to give the knee another few days, then start back at Day 1. Excited as I know how much I enjoyed it and how quickly I saw results. Thank God some of you are still about!

Brianstorm · 23/08/2011 18:12

Anyone??

sommewhereelse · 24/08/2011 16:40

Hi Brianstorm
I'm still doing it. I've posted previously on this thread but have changed my posting name.
I've been quite committed apart from a week off recently due to a house move.
I have also bought Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism which is longer and mostly aerobic. It's hard to find time for that one but I feel great when I've got through it.

Brianstorm · 24/08/2011 19:53

Oh good sommewhereelse! I was going to post anyway since nobody had replied but just did Day 1 Level 1 again. It's been since the end of May since I've really been able to do it and, since my knee was sore, I wanted to make sure I didn't hurt myself too much. It wasn't too bad, and surprisingly, my fitness wasn't too bad either.

Where have you got to?

I bought the Six Week Sixpack. It's still in the cellophane Blush

sommewhereelse · 25/08/2011 07:31

I went through 30 days and then started again with bigger weights but they are too heavy for some of the exercises so I change weights depending on which exercise.

Sounds like your restart was better than you were expecting!

I shall be checking in on you even if no one else is!!

Brianstorm · 25/08/2011 09:55

Thanks - think I need it. That's why I came back to the thread. Even if no-one's watching, I need the guilt!

Just did my measurements again. Not very happy with myself. Although STILL my weights has not changed since I started off the first time. It's just the inches Sad

How are you getting on? Are you doing it 3 times a week or still every day?

sommewhereelse · 25/08/2011 20:08

I'm doing it 4 - 5 times a week. I definitely have more toned upper arms and abs. It's the only physical difference. More importantly I feel better in myself and have more energy.

YouCantTeuchThis · 29/08/2011 12:06

Hi folks,

I've just restarted and just posting to mark my place. Day 1 Level 1 today and it wasn't too bad although the legs are a wee bit shaky now Grin

I have done it twice before (last september and may time) and each time I did a week of each level (with a rest day) and lost about 10lbs the first time, put on a few pounds then lost a stone in May shredding and eating well.

I then went on to Cerazzette mini-pill (boo hiss!) and have put about 10lbs back on Sad although it is a lot of water retention (can't wear my rings but jeans still fit-ish!)

Anyway, I have a couple of stone to lose but will concentrate on 1st just now.

Will read through the thread after lunch to find out where y'all are at.

YouCantTeuchThis · 29/08/2011 12:06

Muggle - did you start today?

YouCantTeuchThis · 31/08/2011 10:46

day 3...feel stiff but good.
