I need a Shred buddy

I had a Shred buddy but she knackered her knees. It turns out I have no self-motivation at all as I haven't done it once since she stopped.

Anyone looking at a neglected copy of the 30 Day Shred and want to buddy up? We had managed to get to day 10 and had just moved up to level 2 when we stopped, but I'm happy to start again at day 1.

Not much required, just a daily check in to say, 'yep, done it for today, how about you?'

Whaddya say?

Day 26 - there's a light at the end of the tunnel.

I think I'll drop down to weekdays only when I hit day 30.

gosh you have been good,i am going to do it today but am off to paris monday so will have a week off,will be walking alot tho but feel gutted ive got to break just when im seeing results.

cant wait, i did day3 L2 yesterday and will continue until sunday,i can do all the cardio without stopping now which is such an improvment on my fitness.I also cycled with dd2 to ballet and back to get her later. I am definately seeing difference in my fat middle area and legs,i am really chuffed and am going to add in a diet too when i get back.
psst do you thinbk we are the only ones left?

Day 28.
Did Level 3 with a mix of 2kg and 1kg weights.

Supersal, if you're still around, I found those plank elbow and leg raises at the end much easier with my 2kg weights because the round bits at the end are bigger than the 1kg ones so none of my hand was touching the ground.

Ledkr/OtherSide - promise I'm still here!! Went away on the hen weekend which was my original motivation, and haven't stopped since. Loft conversion started when I got back, and basically either don't get peace with the builders, or have to leave the house all day so that they can knock down walls, etc in peace! Literally crawling into bed at the moment - and one or other of the DDs are up once every night!! Did a couple of days Shredding in amongst that, but have decided to cut my losses, and go back to L3D1, and just take it from there.

On the other hand, really proud of the 2 of you!! And obviously SuperSal, who hasn't faltered either Grin

Will update tomorrow on my first proper day back. Feel all flabby again already Sad

Thanks for the encouragement Brianstorm, I was beginning to feel silly again, posting to myself!

I can now do Level 1 and Level 3 with 2kg weights Smile
I won't be able to do Level 2 with 2kg weights for a long time as I can only just manage all the V-raises with 1kg weights.

And despite all this, I still can't manage all the press-ups on Level 1.

Day 31 today.

Well done on the decorating choices. I would honestly rather do a shred session than choose wallpaper!

I can manage all the proper press ups on Level 1 now Smile

Oh God, still haven't done it - and tbh, have no intentions of doing it tonight either... Going to have some ice-cream and really really really intend to start again tomorrow night, in time for the wedding in 3 weeks!

But well done!!! Day 33 - impressive. And shred vs decorating isn't even a choice - I'm a frustrated interior designer!

Good to see people still keeping it up, this fell off my 'threads I'm on'Blush.

Still only doing once a week as I go to the gym the other 6 days, but on friday I switched back to level 2 for the first time in ages and actually found it not bad on my knees for once. This could mean that my knees are well and truly fucked or they have somehow altered to deal with the impact?

Also, will share that I have reached the magic 28lbs of weight loss yesterday so a bit chuffed with myself. Wore a dress out to dinner last night that I last wore on my hen do and had loads of compliments, so I guess some grudging thanks to Jillian are due!

Still 12lbs to go though, I guess I will have to actually start a diet to shift the rest..............Ho-hum.

I might have to buy some bigger weights for some of the exercises.

tried for the first time this evening - thought I was reasonably fit but it was tough! only have 2kg weights though, and thought they were too heavy for some exercises and not terribly challenging for others - maybe I'm unbalanced.

well I did it again today and survived.... but not sure I'll manage literally every day (and surely it isn't good for your muscles, don't they need repair time?)

really wish I had 1kg weights for the side squats with front raises, that is definitely my low point!

I don't know about the muscle repair thing. I thought the idea was to do it everyday to but I had to take a couple of breaks because of being busy and think it did me some good.

My copy arrived 2day & I gave it a go this evening- only managed 10mins as DP made dinner Smile
But I am determined 2 keep it up!! Have 2 stone to lose & want to tone up & improve my fitness

Did Level 3 on tuesday after a short run.

Otherside- I've been looking at reviews for her 'no more trouble zones', apparently its 50mins but you can take different parts of it and do a combo of 7 minute circuits. 6 week six pack is meant to be alright too and she has done a new one about being 'ripped in 30' or something. If you look on the JM website it mentions a few of them and they are all fairly cheap on amazon.

Desertgirl- I've been looking into this thing about rest days and muscle repair and I think the general consensus is that you need rest days if the exercise is prolonged and strenuous (an hour or two of sport/really long run/lots of weight training) as this tends to cause small tears in the muscle. I think the 25 mins you spend on shredding is fine, as there is only about 8 mins in total of cardio and 12mins of strength training.
I looked into it as I currently don't have a rest day, I do an exercise class 5 or 6 days a week (combo of circuits/boot camp/spin/boxing/body pump) and shred on my day off from the gym. Although the classes are very hard I don't think they are prolonged enough to actually be damaging my muscles.

DD was snoozing , so made the most of it & done it!!
I feel great Smile think I can do alot more-has got me really pumped!!But think I will do level 1 4a few more days at least.
Dreaded night shift later so better take it easy Wink probably feel it in the morning!lol!
