Oh miri, you and your poor DP, you must have been devastated yesterday but keeping fingers crossed that this will still happen for you with ivf and at least not too long to wait to start.

When's AF due Phoenix? So pleased mr donor has arrived safely 😁😁😁

Pez your clinics are still being such idiots 😣

Stork I'd been inclined not to bother, the new clinic seem pretty keen to do something completely different so as long as you know what you've had it done in the past :)

Kwick hoping you're not working too late today!

I'm having my last mojito :)

pickle162 · 25/04/2017 18:21

(Hopefully my eggs won't feel like I'm poisoning them 😣)

pickle162 · 25/04/2017 18:22

Eeeeeekkkkkkkk next week shoes, how exciting to know when s/he is going to arrive. Sorry they didn't move round but can't say I'm surprised

kwick · 25/04/2017 18:34

@INeedNewShoes do you mean the screenplay thing? I am excited about it - would be nice to see my/our predicament depicted on the box!!

@INeedNewShoes so it is all systems are go for you and littleshoes then!!!!!! I am soooooo excited!!!!!

You will have to move on to Nomojitos pickle - I had one the other day that was yummy!

On way home - need to pack for trip to Paris - I am on the 7.55 tomorrow - back Thursday.... so tired!

Ooh what are nomojitos! Think I need a whole stack of them!!

kwick · 25/04/2017 20:46

Well I think it had pink grapefruit and strawberry and ice and sugar and lime... but do not quote me. I had it Revolution Bar (which is a chain) in Newcastle.

Pez82 · 25/04/2017 20:56

Ah ah kwick I thought that was a typo and you were saying 'no mojito'! Didn't realise this was a real thing 😂

pickle162 · 25/04/2017 21:05

Yum - I found this and thought mmmmm if I just neglected to put the rum in

Karendvm · 26/04/2017 01:47

Terribly behind

kwick so glad you've called the clinic. Forward momentum.

shoes next week!! How exciting.

miri so sorry to hear your news. I'm glad that things are getting sorted for you but still sorry your journey has been made longer.

Karendvm · 26/04/2017 01:51

pez your clinic is unreal.
How are you feeling?

Scan today went well. Started sobbing. Dr gave me a note for work to tell them I need to not work so hard. Have permission to mow lawn.....he even said I could come mow his if I felt like it! Starting to feel less symptoms. Worries me sometimes but it's around the time I should start feeling better.

Hello to everyone else. Need to go back to the spreadsheet to remind myself where everyone is at.

pickle162 · 26/04/2017 06:57

Karen I'm really pleased the scan went well, as you say you should start feeling a bit better now so try not to worry too much xx glad u have a note for work, may get that boss of yours off your back for a bit
Have u got a pic of your scan photo? We would love to see :)

kwick · 26/04/2017 07:07

@Karendvm such good news! But please still take it easy!
How did work react to note from Dr? In Europe there is a duty of care and employer is obliged to make provisions- hope it is the same in Canada?

Off to Paris again - I am so tired 😢

OP posts:
Pez82 · 26/04/2017 08:39

Kwick, I thought the new job meant you didn't have to travel so much? Or is it still because you're covering both roles?

Karen, so glad your scan went well, just a couple of weeks until you upgrade to the second trimester, right? I hope the letter helps too.
I'm ok, just tired and finding it impossible really hard to work, I can't use my brain properly and I'm clearly not working as I should at the moment. The bladder is behaving much better during the night so no more burning pain. I'm actually worried that I'm cramping less these days!! I had heartburn yesterday so that made feel better a bit 😉
6 more days for my viability scan....

PhoenixMama · 26/04/2017 09:57

Karen I'm so glad your scan went well! How wonderful! Hang in there with work!

Pickle AF is due next Weds - fingers crossed its on time!

Pez SIX DAYS! So exciting!

Snork Did you get into the spreadsheet? If anyone else needs in please do just request access & I'll sort it for you!

I wasn't going to drink this week but I've just been invited to the sports marketing awards tomorrow and the champagne starts flowing at 6:30 so I will def be partaking!!! Love a good black tie!

Angliski · 26/04/2017 10:27

Dear All

Miri - its been a long journey - its good you have each other to support and the crew here! Welcome.

Phoenix - always happy to help :)

All - i got Lesley Regans book on miscarriage and also miscarriage what women need to know - lots of stories that were helpful if anyone else is struggling to process and grieve - as i am.

Onwards and upwards to us all. Hugs

kwick · 26/04/2017 15:02

That is right pez travel should lessen because but not until they find a replacement for moi! Interviews have started which is encouraging! I was told I was irreplaceable yesterday - which I do not believe for a second - but it was nice to hear nonetheless

@Angliski I did struggle a lot with the grief but am muddling through a lot better now. I am fearful though that this will not end well and then I am not sure how I will cope. For now I still have hope.
Does your book talk about the reasons for MC?

OP posts:
Angliski · 26/04/2017 15:47

Hiya kwick

I absolutely know how you feel the uncertainty is rotten. Yes they both do their best to explain what is known and what can be done by way of prevention. I found them very helpful x

Everhopeful76 · 26/04/2017 16:15

Understand kwik I also feel my story won't end well and do feel that this time around suffering a m/ c is more likely because I should have lost Mabel early on. It's a funny thing as if am destined to miscarry is it better for my cycle ( when the bugger gets underway) to fail at 2ww? Some of these Spanish clinics seem to have crazily great stats for egg donation cycles so one way or other I think we can win the battle lovely!!!
What is your plan angliski to restart quite soon? Am sorry to hear about your miscarriage and glad these books are helping you in your grief. It's so hard

Glad everything going well karen and shoes not long to go. Eek

Sorry miri about your difficult news. Will take a bit of processing but sounds like your remaining positive and proactive with deciding on the ivf cycle and then hopefully your partner will get her laparoscopy and recover well. Best of luck with yr appt too.

Hope yr champagne do is great phoenix I love bubbles!! Nomojitas sound good too x

Persipan · 26/04/2017 17:31

Hello all. Thought I might say hello.

I'm single, and have been trying on and off for a while. I had IVF using donor sperm a couple of years back - one unsuccessful round, and one cancelled when my ovaries decided to completely ignore maxed-out doses of stims. I then tried at home with Cryos for a bit - largely because I wanted to get a bit more accustomed to the 2ww, not because I particularly thought it would work - and actually did get pregnant, twice, and miscarried twice.

I'm now 40, and bearing all the above in mind have come to the conclusion that my eggs are, to put it bluntly, a bit crap at this point, so today I've been back to my clinic to talk about being an egg share recipient. They tentatively matched me to a donor already! I really like the idea of being able to help someone else to start their own family, so fingers crossed everything goes forward OK...

Everhopeful76 · 26/04/2017 18:14

Welcome persipan your in good company here.
Sorry you ve had a long journey with ttc and am glad you have found hope in an egg sharing scheme. Where is your clinic? When do you think you might start? X

Everhopeful76 · 26/04/2017 18:16

Am doing ivf with my own eggs and it feels like a last chance with this method for me before donor egg cycle. That's if I ever get started, sore point ATM x

Persipan · 26/04/2017 18:38

I'm with LWC - I had my previous IVFs with them in Cardiff but this time around I should hopefully be able to have scans and whatnot in Bristol, which is great because I live much closer to there, so I'll only need to go to Cardiff for transfer (fingers crossed I get there). Not sure exactly when things might get underway but they thought I'd potentially be looking at July/August.

Everhopeful76 · 26/04/2017 19:13

Ah ok. I'm having my treatment with uma Gordon in Bristol, she also works as lead fertility consultant at southmead hospital, altho I do now live in the midlands. Going there because I had successful treatment there but my daughter Mabel sadly died as a neo nate due to chromosome disorder.Felt wanted to use the same clinic as they were fantastic and all terms and conditions same too.., same donor as well as I wanted a full sibling for my girl. A risk but to me worth taking
I hear good things about your clinic and so much better to have most of the scans in one place so that's a lot more convenient for you. Exciting times that is moving quite quickly x

StorkAhoy · 26/04/2017 19:40

Persipan - hi! Welcome! Tell me more about being an egg share recipient. How does that work?!

And all - Im sold on July being my last chance with my eggs before I start looking at donor eggs/embryo adoption. scary but true.

In other news, my current FC will copy my blood test results for free, so might just do that!

xx
