If this goes horribly wrong it is not my fault.....

Sorry Amber my week has been a cross between the Twilight Zone and soap opera with falling ratings at Christmas.

Today's joy looking after dDad while working. It feels like the toddler years are back (minus trying to fish fuzzy felt out of bottoms and sultanas out of noses hopefully). Thankfully they have superfast internet so I can "work".

tayto glad you had a nice day
mrs you sound like a star, I hope you get some appreciation for your hard work caring

Well I spoke too soon about football...have just returned from A&E with DS2. He has something called a buckle fracture of the wrist which will heal quickly apparently. My kids are very active and like taking risks so I count myself lucky to have had only two breaks between the three off them so far.. (touches wood)

SnugglySnerd · 16/05/2021 17:55

Ouch Martha! Hope he is ok.

What sort of puppy Life?

Unescorted · 16/05/2021 18:23

Ow Martha hope he heals soon.

Life puppy!

Speaking of puppies welcome Puppy you are right it is the friendliest part of the tinternet.

Tayto I love the west coast . It is where my mum is from (Mayo) and the smell of burning peat takes me back to when I was a little mite.

Mrs that is above & beyond.

Today has been a day of walking.

Labrador puppy

marthasmum · 16/05/2021 18:43

Thank you, he was in pain while we were waiting to be seen but he’s bounced back.
DP and I would love to go to Ireland, never been.
Puppy I am new to the thread too, it’s very friendly.
Just fallen asleep.. I’m missing the excitement of LOD on a Sunday. Has anyone been watching Mare of East Town?

Lovemaltesers · 16/05/2021 18:46

Welcome puppy

My frugal win of the last few days was getting a partial refund from M&S. I paid full price but it arrived with a reduced sticker on it. Money back pays this months mobile bill.

Oh no, poor DS martha

Mrsmadevans · 16/05/2021 18:56

I have been watching Call the Midwife - I hadn't watched it before. It is very Sunday evening filler programme. I am not sure I will watch all 9 series.

Tonight's dinner is pea and ham soup and chive farls. It is a store cupboard recipe.

That sounds delicious l am drooling here Smile Not keen on CTM but am loving Mare from Eastwood with Kate Winslet on Netflix Smile
Unescorted · 16/05/2021 20:18

Dinner did not disappoint - not bad for a less than £2 dinner.

Mrs I can imagine that if you knew anything about midwifery CTM would be really hard to watch without throwing the TV out the window.

Lab puppy?! Oooh so squishy.

Spent the afternoon in bed after we went to baby gymnastics/soft play type thing. The side effects of the jab are real!

Unescorted · 16/05/2021 20:32

em sorry to hear you are hit with side effects. DH was poorly for 24 hours and I had none.

OP posts:
marthasmum · 16/05/2021 21:33

Sorry to hear that em . Hope you are feeling better soon - the side effects seem to go quickly for people I know.
I agree mrs and unescorted re CTM, not much like the real thing 😂
The books are very moving though, especially the one about people’s experience of the workhouse - has anyone ever read it?
mrs is Mare on Netflix? I have recommended it to people but thought it was only on sky.

AmberIsACertainty · 16/05/2021 23:35

Martha sending healing vibes for your DS.

Snuggly glad the heavens were on your side for the picnic.

Life that museum looks fab. Might have to visit one day.

Waves hi to Puppy

Mrs OMG an explosion of epic proportions. You're a saint. The world needs more kind people like yourself.

I didn’t get the job I applied for 🙁 They’ve already advertised the role below it, so must’ve gone to the internal candidate. I just wish people wouldn’t advertise jobs that they plan to internally appoint. Why bother and waste people’s time???! I got good feedback though.

Unescorted · 17/05/2021 17:18

I know how annoying it is Love but the positives are, you interviewed well , had good feedback, that is a huge bonus, very often they don't even bother to give you that! Despite asking also the interview was good experience. I am sorry you didn't get it but you keep going, it will happen Flowers

Bad luck Love, so annoying when that happens. Good that you got good feedback though.

Hope you ate feeling better now Em.

Labrador puppies are adorable and I am not a dog person!

I did well this afternoon. Gate duty in horizontal rain, the sort that goes under the umbrella. Had just dried out when I did the nursery pick up and the heavens opened again. My shoes got absolutely soaking while I was strapping the dts into the car. I obviously used up all my weather luck yesterday!

Mrsmadevans · 17/05/2021 18:21

Snuggly you poor thing!

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/05/2021 20:33
