If this goes horribly wrong it is not my fault.....

Sorry Amber my week has been a cross between the Twilight Zone and soap opera with falling ratings at Christmas.

Today's joy looking after dDad while working. It feels like the toddler years are back (minus trying to fish fuzzy felt out of bottoms and sultanas out of noses hopefully). Thankfully they have superfast internet so I can "work".

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/07/2021 19:17

Is dboss letting you expense the laptop em
Shit day here. Trying to apply for a new job and having brain farts

Lovemaltesers · 15/07/2021 19:30

I do realise all the calls and texts are karma for slagging them off for no contact on here when DH had covid Grin . Test and trace does work now, the poor child I had to include in my contact tracing got a call within an hour!

HumbugWhale · 15/07/2021 19:55

I agree about dd and nursery Meadow, we did it. I know it's a lot of money but sometimes it's worth it for your sanity!

A question about waxing...if you just have a bog standard bikini wax can you keep your pants on? Blush

Mrsmadevans · 15/07/2021 20:06

CongratulationsHappier 🤗
Tayto l would love to have counselling but it's so expensive.
I know it's worth it , the other problem is finding a good counsellor . I find myself trying to keep myself occupied by looking at Tik Tok or reading but it's always there in the background 🙄
Not waxing here l am too old & one of the benefits of aging , there aren't many lol 😀
Spends today only 1.50 pizza
20 Chinese takeaway too hot to cook tbh 😀

Lovemaltesers · 15/07/2021 20:08

tayto the counselling will be money well spent Flowers .Important to look after you.

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/07/2021 20:35

I think the counclling is important. Only short term but will have lots of benefits

SingToTheSky · 15/07/2021 20:45

Good counselling/therapy is absolutely priceless. Really has changed things for me 💐

Congrats on the divorce happier new start 🥰

Sorry about the crappy days life and em

ememem84 · 15/07/2021 21:10

I also had osteo apt today. And had a call from osteo at 410 asking me where I was. I thought my apt was at 5…. Oops. Luckily I made it in 10 mins and she was just beastly to me. But my back and neck feel so so much looser. 😂

Worked out my work issue. It’s the security app we use to log on. That’s what’s fucked. So need to get that sorted. But it’s too late to deal now. That’s a morning job. Or a Monday job as tomorrow is my day off. I’ve told boss I’ll be in the office on Monday as have broken the remote work g connection. So will fix it. Then go home.

Happierwithouthim · 15/07/2021 23:14

€4 to busker at beach, collected my friend & her children so she bought the hot chocolates.

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 16/07/2021 08:31

Hi Humbug. I’ve always had Hollywood waxes and been able to keep my pants on. The therapist will ask you to hold them to the side when necessary. I make sure I’m wearing an old pair as they might get wax on them. They do provide a disposable thong type thing also, but I don’t like them.

ememem84 · 16/07/2021 09:05

Yep. Either wear old pants. Or they give you paper pants.

For mine the other day the waxing lady asked me to go no pants. They give you a towel to cover up though!

MeadowHay · 16/07/2021 09:22

I was planning to book in soon for my first time whilst pregnant because I'm huge this time and already struggling to keep up my usual grooming (which is not much! I get eczema otherwise). But Em said it's more painful eek. I think I might just give it a go anyway I mean I had an instrumental delivery with no pain functioning pain relief so it can't be as bad as that...! Really desperately need to get threaded too but not had a chance with DD being poorly. She got antibiotics from the OOH GP yesterday evening as she went downhill yesterday. I haven't left the house since Sunday so going stir crazy myself eurgh.

I managed to sort our tax credits info for this year yesterday after finally getting through to a competent advisor on the online chat on my third attempt. Still need to do my renewal though.

Have thought long and hard about the nursery and I know everyone's said keep the 3 days but I think I'm going to drop her to two. I just don't feel like we can justify the cost, it's going to be a LOT of money for us when I'm only on SMP and I don't want to be worrying about money on top of everything else. I will still have 2 days alone with the baby and I will hopefully enjoy the extra time with DD before the baby is born too. DH is hoping to take a month off when the baby is born too so that should help and ultimately even whilst he's back at work he could do DD's nursery drop offs and collections too if I needed him to - he'd been doing them all until recently what with my sickness.

Gensola · 16/07/2021 09:35

For brazilian I’ve always had to take mine off but they give me a large piece of paper towel or a towel to cover up with, and once they start waxing I’m too busy wincing to feel embarrassed 😂
I’ve cancelled a trip to London on Monday planned with two old friends as I just can’t afford it - am going today with DH to stay with a friend but that won’t cost too much as he is kindly cooking for us. I’m also very unfrugally getting a tattoo in Ldn tomorrow which has to be paid for in cash.
I need to sell some stuff or something.

ememem84 · 16/07/2021 14:18

Previously I would have insisted on paper pants. But having given birth twice I feel my dignity has well and truly gone out the window abs I just don’t care anymore. That’s not to say I flash my bits off. It don’t get too embarrassed anymore.

Mrsmadevans · 16/07/2021 15:01

Afternoon everyone Smile
I have been so hot today l have just come home from MumBobs & then shopping and TMI lol put my vest and pants on and sat on the sofa . I guess a Brazillian would have been advised sporting this ensemble Grin
Spent £4.50 in Iceland on Dr Oetker Pizzas they are on offer there for 1.50 , Card Factory £4 for birthday cards, £20 on Amazon for a Birthday card and a £20 voucher for a little girls birthday [smile
Hope everyone is enjoying this weather and we are all well Smile

Wolfcub · 16/07/2021 15:07

Frugal win today I remembered to check and use the warranty for something which broke instead of replacing it (you would think this was standard but I have in the past forgotten and replaced and in warranty large applicance)

HumbugWhale · 16/07/2021 18:06

Thank you all for the waxing info. I might do it! I hope dd feels better soon Meadow.

Unescorted · 16/07/2021 18:56

I have chosen a painful moment to return to the thread. Even shaving is too painful. On the only occasion I tried I left lop sided and in tears. I buy shorty swimmers....

Happier that is fabulous news.

Life - sods law, although with the lovely warm weather it is not such a bad time.

This weekend is going to be spenny.... more compost, bark chippings and concrete. I fear the plant section. The front garden is more frugal.... It is a designated rewilding area.

bigbutterflycount.butterfly-conservation.org/
There is a free app to download and send off the count if anyone is interested in doing it with their children, or with their family, or on their own come to that Grin

Thank you Mrs this is just the sort of thing my dcs like doing.
Mrsmadevans · 16/07/2021 20:32

Ahh you're welcome Humbug Smile
It's only a 15 min countdown but there is a chart to download to identify the different butterflies . They could have made it more interesting for the children if they'd thought about it imho but it's a good cause,
The App isnt bad though Smile

Taytocrisps · 16/07/2021 21:25

It's sooooo hot! 27 degrees today. I went for an early morning walk and then hid indoors for the rest of the day, apart from brief dashes to the clothes line.

My microwave has given up the ghost. I'd forgotten how long it takes to heat dinners in the oven.

I've a house guest next week so I'm going to make up the bed in the spare room tomorrow and give the house a quick once over. It's supposed to be another fab. day so I'm going for an early morning walk at a local beauty spot with DD , before it gets too hot. And I plan to eat lots of ice cream. And make strawberry mojitos

HumbugWhale · 16/07/2021 22:21

We were watching butterflies earlier Mrs and wishing they would keep still so we could get a closer look at them, identifying them might be tricky!

Unescorted · 16/07/2021 22:33

Tayto line dry the sheets. Everything else can be ignored.

We have DD2 for a rare visit. The roses we planted last year are blooming marvelous. She is doing so well.
