If this goes horribly wrong it is not my fault.....

Sorry Amber my week has been a cross between the Twilight Zone and soap opera with falling ratings at Christmas.

Today's joy looking after dDad while working. It feels like the toddler years are back (minus trying to fish fuzzy felt out of bottoms and sultanas out of noses hopefully). Thankfully they have superfast internet so I can "work".

wolf (()) not very Mn, but sometimes it just has to be done.

Em sounds fun.

We are not in favour with the neighbours because our shed is being dismantled and burnt. These are the neighbours who have been turning the house adjoined to ours into an Air BnB & have been hammering and drilling for weeks now. At what point do I point out that they need planning permission b/c it is a business & is a change of use?

Oh Wolf you poor thing. Sending you good vibes 💛

Mrsmadevans · 02/06/2021 21:39

Wolf bless you l am so sorry l do hope you can get away this weekend you need a break 🌼

SnugglySnerd · 02/06/2021 22:11

Wolf, dealing with one of those things would be stressful but they seem to have all come at once Flowers

ememem84 · 03/06/2021 06:35

unescorted depends on how well you know them. If you’re v friendly I’d just ask. If you have an ongoing rift I’d leave it a while longer and then ask.

Hair is done. It took 4 hours…. And cost £200. Balayage, treatment, toner, cut, blow dry (and my hairdressers time). Not unexpected.

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/06/2021 06:49

Oh wolf (()) too

northender · 03/06/2021 07:03

Another from me wolf
Checked finances last night. Think the opening up is taking it's toll so belts may need to be tightened!
Work was better yesterday, had 3 lovely patients who I was able to help. Can't make a decision on how long I want to continue with what I am doing at the moment until the service is properly up & running. For the moment the extra money is very welcome, but doesn't compensate for the down side. However the down side isn't as down as it was and should keep getting better
Dh has a voucher from when he left his last job. It's an "experience" type of thing do we are looking at a 2 night B&B stay in the Lakes in July. We'd need to pay £10.

Lovemaltesers · 03/06/2021 08:27

Big hugs wolf, not surprising your tolerance for bullshit is low Flowers

Fallen off the thread a bit as we’ve had three days away. It was lovely!

Unescorted · 03/06/2021 09:01

I am getting a second jab today.

Wolf hope today is a better one... not that the bar is very high after the awful one you had yesterday.

em their daughter bullied my daughter. I think I will wait until day 91 and then ......

Much love wolf I’m sorry everything is so stressful 💐

Hope you feel ok from second stabby jabby unescorted! I had similar symptoms as after the first but they lasted much less time.

Love so glad you had a nice time away!

North that’s a bargain with the experience voucher!

Spendy times here lately, topping up on clothes for the younger two especially. Also bought a webcam for the new PC as it didn’t have one built into the monitor. Really don’t begrudge that thought - amazingly, the job centre sorted a grant for me to buy a refurbished one, as we didn’t even have a laptop/tablet that worked and obviously trying to do all my studying and fill in forms/job hunting etc was getting tricky. There’s a website that I think was set up for the pandemic refurbishing computers and laptops and selling them cheap (£115 including WiFi capability as we don’t have a socket in the right place) so I was able to get one that way which is amazing. Will at some point change the mouse to a trackball as that’s what dad always used so I’m more used to it! Moved the desk out of DS’ room into ours as he wasn’t really using it - his room looks sooo much bigger, but will get him a small Ikea table as he still wants a white background for stop motion etc.

ememem84 · 03/06/2021 09:24

Or wait until you see it advertised on air b&b….

marthasmum · 03/06/2021 12:00

Fallen off the the thread for a few days as we've been to my sister's to stay for the first time since pre-pandemic - hurray! DCs were worried they'd be a bit shy with their cousin but they all fell straight back into it which was great. Lots of river swimming in the hot sun. Spent about £80 on food (takeaway etc), not bad for 3 days away. Now on long drive home, DS2 has just managed to upend a full latte into the footwell of the car Confused
Sorry for those having tough times (wolf and gen) hope things are looking up soon.

ememem84 · 03/06/2021 14:46

£157 lunch with dsis. This included a bottle of wine two kir rogales and an espresso martini (yum). In my fave restaurant. Recommended to those who are visiting jeraey in September as it’s just down the hill from their hotel Wink

I rarely see dsis on her own. So it’s money we’ll spent.

Unescorted · 03/06/2021 17:25

I am tired after the stabby jabby, but not sore.... maybe that will come later or maybe I will have double luck & remain side effect free.

sing your job centre sounds really good. It is not often that they get praise.

em I am not sure I could put up with people fiddling with my hair for 4 hours. Or even sit still for 4 hours....

Looks like I will be starting my new role on Monday. I cannot wait.... it has been a while since I was excited about my job.

Tesco 6 , Amazon 4 for a Christmas Wax Lyrical diffuser Smile

AmberIsACertainty · 03/06/2021 22:52

OMG Mrs are you preparing for Christmas already Shock

Fingers crossed for no side effects Unescorted

Glad you enjoyed lunch with sis Em

Martha river swimming sounds fab. I keep eyeing up the local river but it's a bit too shallow, probably a bit too fast current and far too cold here at the moment. I settled for taking a walk beside it tonight.

northender · 03/06/2021 23:15

Em I am lobbying Dh for an increased food budget for our trip!!
unescorted great that you are looking forward to your new role
Glad you've had a good break love
Feeling a bit meh today, not sure why. No spends though.
Have managed 3 days of consistent healthy eating & am signed up for 0700 HIIT class in the morning. Need to get myself in gear

northender · 03/06/2021 23:17

Martha sounds like a lovely break, we have a spillage of garlic granules in our car today which is grim!

marthasmum · 03/06/2021 23:47

I will now have to pay for a non frugal car valet! One treat I allow myself as I really can’t be bothered to clean the car

We are spoiled here with our restaurants. Since covid and now with brexit and the French fishing debacle a lot of our restaurants are using locally caught seafood. Which is ace.

The place I was with dparents and dsis the other day had “locally caught fish curry” and similar on the menu. So they have no idea what they’re getting until it comes in.

Food isn’t hugely expensive. Depends on what you have. But we are spoiled. So spoiled.

Yesterday’s lunch with dsis could have been much cheaper if we hadn’t had kir royales cocktails and wine. But it was a treat. So.

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/06/2021 07:57

Doggo stabby jabby today so no doubt £££ in vets fees. £100 Sainsbury's but no meals
I need to unpack a recipe book and use it.
