If this goes horribly wrong it is not my fault.....

Sorry Amber my week has been a cross between the Twilight Zone and soap opera with falling ratings at Christmas.

Today's joy looking after dDad while working. It feels like the toddler years are back (minus trying to fish fuzzy felt out of bottoms and sultanas out of noses hopefully). Thankfully they have superfast internet so I can "work".

Job filled weekend. Did massive ironing on Saturday and DP had his second jab. £26 at Marks, the lady in the fruit section was beginning to yellow sticker a lot so I secured raspberries, peaches, grapes and oranges. DP likes fruit for breakfast, it doesn’t seem to spike his readings, and I take it in pack ups.
Yesterday DP had to take the car to Kwik Fit, the car had a service on Friday and they found a tyre with two rogue nails. DP initially just went to get that one changed but they offered £200 for one or £400 for all four. A complete change was coming up so DP agreed.
After tea, sausages from the farm shop, yum, we had a drive down to the seaside. It was glorious driving over the downs and I had a paddle in the sea. Back in work today on the late shift but no theatres running due to the bank holiday so hopefully chilled. Might get something to take in for afternoon tea.

ememem84 · 31/05/2021 07:15

Probably around £25 on Amazon this morning. I’ve been a hankering for everything but the bagel seasoning. I finished my small pot a friend sent me from the us so yum but have bought all things individually and will do a mix.

Also got some pre made bets for my blueberry bushes. Dh wanted to make them himself but I think sometimes it’s easier to buy than make.

Going to the stables today to get some horse poop for the garden and will let the dc see the ponies. And beer can chicken on bbq later. Yay.

Productive this morning. Dishwasher on, washing machine on and one load outside. French doors are open to air the house.

My throat is still sore but way better than yesterday.

lifelongfrugaleer · 31/05/2021 08:25

Day at home today with pup. D's at the scoot park, DD probably hanging with pals.

NSD unless I hit tinterweb.

lifelongfrugaleer · 31/05/2021 08:25

It's a good drying day. In think I will strip the beds

northender · 31/05/2021 08:42

Glad you're feeling better Em
Duchess I love this time of year for all the soft fruit, great with yoghurt for breakfasts
Think we'll be nursing a hungover ds today. Due to his injury, he didn't play yesterday, but he's captain of the team so went along anyway & drank in the sun all day, no food, young & silly!
We're having a BBQ tonight, low key, just a couple of friends coming over. Dh did a sterling job with the hedges yesterday so the garden is looking good, just the lawn to do today.

ememem84 · 31/05/2021 09:04

Just made pancakes bacon and eggs. Bit scratchy for my throat still but so yum.

Need to do a food shop too. And will get the paddle poole out.

Unescorted · 31/05/2021 12:01

wolf I hope your Dgm is peaceful.
em glad you are feeling better.

I can't believe the weekend has shot by so quickly here. I fired the pizza oven up for the first time & invited a friend over for the try out on Saturday. DS & Dh decided they wanted F&Cs and a camp out to avoid any potential disasters. The fools! We are re running pizza tonight if the peel arrives in time ( I borrowed my bro's one - but he NEEEEEEded it to get the ready made ones into and out of a normal oven.....sigh)

Not doing anything just chilling , about time we had a day off recharging the batteries.
Bought some crocs for Dh to use in the garden , 22.99 he likes them because he can get them wet and they dry straight away.
Nothing else though Smile
Have a lovely Bank Holiday everyone Smile

ememem84 · 31/05/2021 15:58

£77 coop. Reciept still said we’ve spent £13k there this year. Guess someone else has been using our number. Not sure we’ll ever know though.

Packed about 6 full wheelbarrows worth of pony poop into our boot (in a bag. Not loose!) the dc thought this was hilarious! And have helpfully told everyone that we put poo in our car…!!

Beer can chicken on the bbq tonight. Dh has it on now and it’s chickening away.

Sharky pool is up and the kids have been splashing.

SnugglySnerd · 01/06/2021 06:46

Morning all! Spendy day yesterday. Dh I think got fed up of me complaining I have nothing to wear in the hot weather and sat me down at the laptop to order some stuff. I really struggle with summer clothes as I burn easily so like to be fairly covered up and I look pregnant in a lot of dresses etc. I am much happier in jeans, jumper and boots!
Anyway I ordered 2 x trousers, 2 x dresses and 3 tops to try on. I need to buy some sandals too but got too tired for that last night.

Gensola · 01/06/2021 08:31

Hoping for NSD - WFH today and have 5 lessons so will be busy 9-6.
DH is off to see PILs as he is on half term, he is taking MIL to see FIL in hospital. She keeps insisting they are going to take him home when the doctors are clear he can’t leave, so poor DH is in for quite a day I think!

Making a list of DIY jobs for the house, excited for shelves and a workbench in the utility as it’s always a mess in there and this will really help to keep things off the floor.

AmberIsACertainty · 02/06/2021 00:42

Snuggly I had the same problem wantiuto cover up. I went for long sleeve cotton shirts and midi/maxi skirts in the end. Maybe not very fashionable idk but it's better than burning or being too hot.

Gen hope FIL is doing ok and MIL doesn't give DH too much of a hard time.

Em someone else is going to be disappointed at their lack of supermarket points! Not your fault though. Eeeeww to the poo 💩 in the car.

northender · 02/06/2021 06:28

Gorgeous morning here again. Perfect for being stuck in clinic rooms all day with no natural light. God I find work a real bind at the moment.
The only spends yesterday was £60ish on a topsoil delivery. The garden is coming along nicely.

ememem84 · 02/06/2021 07:08

amber we think someone may have got our number confused with a charities to rack up that much. There’s no way of knowing though. Because I’ve logged onto our account online and I can’t see a list of transactions making up the points etc and even if I could see that still have no way of knowing who did it or which account it was meant to go to.

There is a “coop charity number” so will check this number isn’t similar to ours (you give a “share holder number” when you shop so any dividend goes to the right account…).

But otherwise…dividend is around £500. So. That’ll be nice.

Taytocrisps · 02/06/2021 08:23

Morning everyone. Should be a LSD. I need to pick up bread and something for dinner for me. DD will be at her Dad's later so she'll eat there.

The weather is due to change today - I think there's rain due. I got DD to mow the lawn out the back garden yesterday. Unfortunately, she locked the keys for the shed door inside the shed! Thankfully, Ex still has keys for the locks.

DCat2 was very naughty and wouldn't come in last night. She was sitting outside the front door this morning, waiting for her breakfast. She's had her breakfast now and she's curled up on the sofa near my feet. DCat1 is snoozing on top of one of the armchairs. I've decided I'm coming back as a cat in my next life - they basically spend their lives eating and sleeping.

I'm calling to a friend's house later. Her DM passed away last week and she lost her DSister to cancer about 18 months ago. So she's had a rough time of it.

DD and her friends have invested in a tent. They're planning a sleepover in someone's garden. They're also planning a surprise birthday party for one of her friends. So she's happy and excited making her plans Smile.

Busy day ahead. I'm working from home but doing extra work to cover a colleague's holiday.

Glad you're feeling a bit better em.

Any puppy photos life?

Mrs glad you had a restful day on Monday.

Snuggly hope you like the new clothes when they arrive.

Gen how did yesterday go? Sounds like a stressful day for your DH. But nice for him to see FIL. It's funny how excited we get over things like shelves and a workbench. Our younger selves would thing we're very sad!

north sounds like you're finding work a bit of a drag at the moment. Is it long until your holidays?

ememem84 · 02/06/2021 08:42

Today is likely to be spendy. Am going riding in a bit (£35) and then getting my hair coloured later on (£100+ usually).

Currently stopped for a coffee as have just dropped the dc off at nursery. Dd had to be prised away from me which is unlike her. But I’ve just walked past the window to her room and she’s tearing about so she’s ok.

tayto aha I know, was also very excited about the arrival of two matching bedside lamps. Middle age is upon me Grin
DH had a gruelling day as MIL just couldn’t or wouldn’t understand that FIL can’t leave the hospital, she caused a massive scene and the doctor had to be quite firm with her. I think she may have a touch of dementia, as she isn’t usually this hard to explain things to.
FIL is not good, I think we are basically in end of life care territory. Very sad, especially as he is so unwell now he can’t enjoy anything really. He is a lovely kind and gentle man.
We are having a friend round for dinner this eve in garden. DH is making grilled lamb with greek salad and flatbreads, so I decided to skip breakfast to save calories Grin

AmberIsACertainty · 02/06/2021 10:39

em they are sods aren't they. When you are within earshot the world is going to end. Happy days once you have left all your working mother's guilt by the door.

I did a wellbeing hypnotherapy session this morning. I am feeling so much better. I am not going to lie I was skeptical to start.

Exhausted now. Been for a really nice ride and had a couple of superbly energetic canters. Pony worked me hard today! V humid here. So am a sweaty Betty.

Have showered changed (but not washed my hair just wet it a bit as am getting it done later) and am waiting for dparents to pick me up for lunch.

Mrsmadevans · 02/06/2021 13:01

Afternoon everyone 🤗🌄
Beautiful day here 😀
Been to MumBobs then to Cyfartha Park , spent 22.50 on bird seed in Wilko's , pic n mix half price this week so a regular cup £1 😀 Marks had a pink Percy pig Swiss roll for 80p so l snagged one of those 😉
My Dad's birthday on the 9th so bought a rose plant for his grave from Marks to put there only £5 l was amazed it looks lovely too. I normally buy much more expensive flowers than that but this is lovely 😀🤗❤️
Hope everyone is ok, not caught up with everyone yes .
Have a lovely day everyone 😊

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/06/2021 14:12

I will bear that in mind unescorted.

Wolfcub · 02/06/2021 17:37

What a day. Work mad, my tolerance for bullshit is now less than zero.
Ex hasn't posted letter to solicitor despite being reminded multiple times and is finding ds's standard behaviour overwhelming.
Ddog is in emergency surgery
Dgm is apparently coming home - this is not good news as she needs more care than she's getting at home
The boiler has emptied the entire contents of the central heating system over the floor so no heating (thank god it's Sunny) and no hot water
I'm due to go away on Friday, only for 48 hours ans I can't see it happening.
Scan test results for lump (which is growing) not back yet
At some point I'm going to set my hair on fire and start running g round the village naked
