What will the mask police do after the 19th

Honey12346 · 01/07/2021 20:42

They were first lockdown police but mutated into mask police when lockdown ended. But what will they mutate into now that we are getting rid of all restrictions?

I am afraid some will be left with a gap in their life

And are the poor covid marshals going to lose their jobs? Sad

They will just harp on and on about the vaccine like demented parrots.

NearlyAlwaysInsane · 01/07/2021 20:47

I reckon councils will need more parking wardens

Killahangilion · 01/07/2021 20:48

Oh dear. Hmm You seriously think the restrictions are going to end?

The new Delta variants are twice as transmissible as last years Coronavirus and fully vaccinated people can still catch it, transmit it and a few will get seriously ill too.

This virus isn’t going to go away anytime soon, no matter how much tantrum-ing you do.

amylou8 · 01/07/2021 20:50

What are they going to do! I think a new Facebook profile picture frame will do it...I still wear my mask to protect others 🌈❤️NHS

SmidgenofaPigeon · 01/07/2021 20:51

They will probably just make huge overblown passive aggressive displays about the fact they THEY care enough to wear a mask.

misssunshine4040 · 01/07/2021 20:51

@amylou8 you just know this is going to be the next thing 😒🤣

SmidgenofaPigeon · 01/07/2021 20:52

YESSS! You’ve called it @amylou8 I think that’s exactly what will happen 😂

And me. I will continue to wear mine in crowded places, shops, public transport etc. I'm by no means "mask police" but will do what I feel is right and necessary.

SupermanInk · 01/07/2021 20:56

I don’t know. But I also wonder what will all the people do who are obsessed with talking about the mask police, lockdown police and covid Marshall’s etc.

People like you will also be left with a large gap in their lives surely? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Goady post.

Middlesboroughgirl · 01/07/2021 20:57

Are they actually going to say we don't need masks in 3 weeks? I hate wearing my mask and being surrounded by other people wearing masks and I can't wait for them to no longer be necessary. I just don't see that time being in 3 weeks time. I hate lockdowns and school closures much more than mask wearing and would rather wear masks for another year or whatever than have cases spread and another lockdown.

Flaunch · 01/07/2021 20:58

I can’t wait to throw mine in the bin.

Stellaris22 · 01/07/2021 21:04

Going to be selfish and keep wearing mine to protect myself and my family.

Pandemic has shown me how awful people are, can't be trusted and only care about themselves. Not risking my health by ditching mine.

That said, I refuse to test if I have symptoms, no incentive whatsoever. I avoid places, but I'll join the mob of nastiness this pandemic has shown everyone to be.

Don’t worry babe, they will back track on masks like they did in Israel.

Worry about something more important like climate change not a piece of cloth that will have no impact on your future or the future if your kids and grandkids.

kessiebird · 01/07/2021 21:21

I stopped wearing one at the school gate two weeks ago, it's a small rural school, we queue outside the gate and distance so no need IMO. Tonight at pick up I noticed other parents had stopped wearing them, including a parent who is a police officer.

Not quite sure what people can say if most people stop wearing them. I'll just carry one for in crowded places indoors.

But your mask doesn't protect you, it protects others

A piece of cloth might have no impact on my future or anyone else's but the disposable masks will. I'm sick of seeing them discarded anywhere, the straps not being cut etc.

The idea of climate change lockdowns worries me more than actual climate change

I'm keeping my mask. I haven't been ill since December 2019.

Exactly this. Probably just as pleasant IRL

This.
IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 01/07/2021 21:32

Keeping mine too. After seeing how many people are ignoring isolation and refusing to test it makes no sense to trust others so will continue to wear it.

VaccineSticker · 01/07/2021 21:35

@PinkSparklyPussyCat
Land Pollution and climate change are two slightly different things.

However, air pollution - rise in carbon emissions has direct effect on climate change.

But that’s another debate for another forum. So I will stop here.

Almost Most people I see everyday use a reusable face cloth mainly for cost reason and environmental ( which is fantastic!) .

Veryverycalmnow · 01/07/2021 21:39

Didn't mind mine warming my cheeks up in winter but now I'm hot and sweaty. Nothing worse than sweaty cheeks. 😅
