What will the mask police do after the 19th

They were first lockdown police but mutated into mask police when lockdown ended. But what will they mutate into now that we are getting rid of all restrictions?

I am afraid some will be left with a gap in their life

And are the poor covid marshals going to lose their jobs? Sad

@TheVampiresWife

BJ is a twat but I'm grudgingly giving him a high five this morning. Also Sajid Javid for acknowledging the huge impact on mental health and the rise in domestic violence caused by the pandemic.

And now I'm going to rinse my mouth out with soap and water for saying nice things about Tories.

Grin Same here! Will not be inviting any of them round for a brew anytime soon, but grudging thanks are sllowed, I think Grin

That's absolutely fine. For all who wish to.

But let's hope that a) the judgement and vilification directed at exempt people ends and b) wearing one doesn't become a signifier of how caring and considerate towards others you are, while those who choose not to are selfish granny (it's always granny, never grandad) murderers.

The only time I will ever wear one again is if I’m at the doctors and only if I’m actually ill. I see no reason to wear one if I’m going for a smear test, contraception pill check etc.

Agreed

I'm hoping they'll go take up macrame or something less destructive to social cohesion.

I will stop wearing mine because I really struggle with glasses misting up. However, I will still test, be aware of when me and my family are unwell and be mindful of going out then, etc. I have no problem with others continuing to wear them, I just want to have the choice now and for them not to be mandatory.

@UsedUpUsername

I have often seen people in Tokyo wearing masks. I think they only do it when they are sick, rather than a standard thing for everyone all the time

This is accurate. Don’t let people gaslight us into thinking that people in East Asia regularly wear masks as some sort of precaution. They don’t.

Surely this is the definition of a precaution, though - wearing a mask to try not to pass on a cold, etc?

@MobyDicksTinyCanoe Will you garnish them with tomato ketchup or brown sauce.

AliceLivesHere · 05/07/2021 18:59

@MobyDicksTinyCanoe

The 19th won't happen. Schools are closing constantly here, if anything changes on the 19th I'll eat my mask stash.
I hope your stash isn't too large since you are going to have to eat the.

Can we see pictures please, what dressing will you add to make palatable?
