What will the mask police do after the 19th

212 replies

Honey12346 · 01/07/2021 20:42

They were first lockdown police but mutated into mask police when lockdown ended. But what will they mutate into now that we are getting rid of all restrictions?

I am afraid some will be left with a gap in their life

And are the poor covid marshals going to lose their jobs? Sad

@Flaxmeadow

You said those who say they've been abused by self appointed mask police are delusional whiners. I'm just illustrating (again) that they're not

No I did NOT say this at all, I did not say anything people being abused are whiners, and I'm getting really sick of you repeatedly misquoting me

There is a quote system, you can copy and paste exactly what people have said and bold it, but for some reason you don't use it.

Yes, it's all in your imaginations. It's a delusion and just something made up to complain and whine about

But there you go, copy, pasted and bolded for your pleasure!

Flaxmeadow · 02/07/2021 14:46

But there you go, copy, pasted and bolded for your pleasure!

And where exactly is that aimed at people who have been "absused" ?

SmidgenofaPigeon · 02/07/2021 14:46

Oh god @Flaxmeadow stop it.

I can only imagine you’ve got a lot of time on your hands (if your comments on the other thread about isolating are anything to go by, you’re genuinely worried about catching covid from a plethora of unlikely batshit scenarios so you probably aren’t leaving the house very much)

luckylavender · 02/07/2021 14:50

@Honey12346 - this is like the goady Brexiteers constantly poking Remainers. You get what you want, leave us alone and enjoy it.

I told you mask exempt people have faced abuse (and provided links to news articles about the abuse they face) and that was your response. You said it was in our imaginations and it was a delusional.

Seriously. Stop derailing.

TheVampiresWife · 02/07/2021 14:53

*it was a delusion, even!

Stellaris22 · 02/07/2021 14:59

Oh put a sock in it. This year has been depressing as fuck already without doom merchants spreading their doom.

I don't see it as being miserable, its being realistic. This disease isn't going anywhere, it will be something we have to learn to live with. The virus may not be as deadly, and we are better equipped now to deal with it, but it will be a part of life.

No one is saying its ideal or fun, that would be silly.

Being pragmatic and understanding how we can manage our behaviour to live with it is important and something we as a society need to get to grips with. People can argue, name call and be petty all they like, it won't be in the least bit helpful.

The sooner we realise that it is a virus we will be living with the sooner we can adapt our behaviours to mitigate the effect on everyday lives.

Well, the rising figures in infections and falling figures in vaccine take up shows that the anti-maskers and anti-vaxxers have done their job well.

Slow hand clap all round eh?

Bazoo23 · 02/07/2021 15:49

Cant wait to flash the mask brigade a big toothy grin Grin

luckylavender · 02/07/2021 15:51

@Bazoo23 - because in the middle of a pandemic that's the main thing, eh? Pathetic

Bazoo23 · 02/07/2021 15:54

@luckylavender

"Middle of a pandemic" Grin Behave.

Honestly I cant wait for the disapproving glares and the fume that they have no right to stop me.

luckylavender · 02/07/2021 15:58

@Bazoo23 - what exactly was wrong with my statement? And I'm not a child.

Bazoo23 · 02/07/2021 15:59

In answer to your question OP they will combust with rage.

They've already lost the right to police people leaving their house, people entering others homes, whether someones purchases are essential or not.

Masks are all they have left.

luckylavender · 02/07/2021 16:02

@Bazoo23 - have you seen a GP recently? Because I reckon you have issues. I'm looking forward to travelling, socialising, going to the theatre, to a gig, a football match. All you want to do is piss people off. Sad life.

Bazoo23 · 02/07/2021 16:02

@luckylavender

I've been socialising since lockdown was lifted. Odd that you're still waiting.

luckylavender · 02/07/2021 16:03

Don't you worry about me.

Oh. Will you be approaching people wearing a mask to ask them whether they are part of a "brigade"? Or making assumptions about their reasons?

Of course they might not realise you're trying to judge and goad them. They might just think you're a bit peculiar.

Don't be ridiculous.
Bazoo23 · 02/07/2021 16:06

@ilovesooty

No. I'll just smile. I realise some people are now terrified of any form of human interaction but I dont think a smile is all that peculiar.

SeeYouInFive · 02/07/2021 16:10

Masks are a good idea anyway. Especially if you live in a city. People in the Far East have understood this for years. Pretty much everyone in Tokyo wears a mask as standard. It’s hardly a difficult or especially weird thing to do. In fact I’m glad it’s been normalised. Means I don’t have to worry about other people’s gross germs and stinky armpits on the tube when I start commuting again.

luckylavender · 02/07/2021 16:11

@Bazoo23 - it was a grin 5 minutes ago. Entirely different. Whatever, you've shown your true nasty colours. Hope you're proud.

canigooutyet · 02/07/2021 16:12

Im loving how some people are getting upset about the term mask brigade and it's goady. When things like you selfish granny murdering bastard was considered perfectly fine, and anyone who said hang on a minute were all called conspiracy loons, go get medical help etc.

Bazoo23 · 02/07/2021 16:12

@luckylavender

Oh dear, roll on the 19th. Grin

Really? "just smile" is back pedalling a bit on your original statement isn't it?

You originally sounded as though you were going to treat (flash) anyone wearing a mask (who of course must be part of a brigade) to some sort of ghastly richtus grin. Not the same as your much modified "just smiling".

Bazoo23 · 02/07/2021 16:16

@ilovesooty

It will be a big, happy friendly grin to anyone who looks disapprovingly at my bare face Grin

Hope that helps.
