How long was it between vaccination and feeling grotty?
I usually get a flu vaccine and have no problems, but for some reason I'm a bit jittery. I'm having mine next week so checking I've got migraine meds and stuff ready just in case.

I only felt a little tired the evening of my jab. Was completely fine by the next morning!

Hopefully you'll be fine quickly too.

niceberg · 20/03/2021 14:14

I had the AZ jab at 2:30pm. Had a rough night and felt awful in the morning. Starting to feel more normal now (jab was yesterday).

thimble41 · 20/03/2021 14:14

Jab 10am Monday....Bad headache/fever the evening of, very ill with flu/migraine symptoms until Tuesday afternoon, felt a little bit tired and headachey for another 24 hours, then fine.

I had the astra zeneca...but im young (24) and have a penicillin allergy both of which make it worse apparently.

Wasn't too bad, would definitely do it again :)

Sparklingbrook · 20/03/2021 14:15

Jab late afternoon Thursday. Went back to work-fine. Woke up in the night a bit sweaty, then had a thumping headache all day yesterday which was similar to a hangover one (treated with Paracetamol) and it's still there a little bit today but otherwise fine now.

Chottie · 20/03/2021 14:15

I had the Pfizer vaccine and I felt fine except for a sore arm for 24 hours which started the day after I was vaccinated. I had the same reaction to the flu vaccination.

Interestingly DH felt the same.

SpunBodgeSquarepants · 20/03/2021 14:15

Had mine at 4pm, at 3am my back started to ache and by 5am I was sweating and shivering at the same time. Solpadeine Max helped me a lot!

I had AZ jab at 1pm Tuesday and by 7pm was feverish and vomitting. Next day in bed feeling awful but much better day after. I would ensure you have paracetamol and lots of fluids to drink available. Lots of people get only mild symptoms. Xx

needadvice54321 · 20/03/2021 14:17

I had mine at 4.30pm and woke up about 2am feeling a bit off (felt heavy and hot)

wallyrag · 20/03/2021 14:20

I had the Pfizer and was ill for a few days, fatigued and generally grotty. I have no qualms about having the second. I had covid in April and the side effects were not a patch on it. Take care

huggzy · 20/03/2021 14:20

I had mine at 9.30am and started to feel rubbish at 8pm. It lasted about 36 hours.

tumpymummy · 20/03/2021 14:22

You may well be fine. A friend and I both coincidentally had ours at the same time yesterday. She's fine today, I'm in bed. Just don't plan anything for the day after just in case. It's not like there is much to do at the moment anyway. Tbh I'm enjoying a lazy pyjama day! I have dizziness and aching limbs when I walk around but am fine in bed. Dry mouth so drinking lots and a bit of a headache.

PresentingPercy · 20/03/2021 14:22

OxfordAZ jab here. DH was a bit hot and cold the next day. Lasted 12 hours. Then fine. I was just tired the next day. Fine the day after. Really nothing whatever to worry about. Area of jab a bit sore.

Sansaplans · 20/03/2021 14:26

My arm felt a bit weird (not painful, sort of numb) for a while, but other than that just a dry mouth for a few days weirdly! Everyone reacts differently, same with any jab- maybe try and arrange it so you don't have a full on day the day after just in case.

BrotherlyLove · 20/03/2021 14:27

Thanks everyone, I've read about it triggering migraines and my migraines can often be a 3 day hell fest, hence the jitters.
I'm sure it'll be fine!

Jab 2:30, woke with banging head, stiff neck and shivers at 3am.

Start taking paracetamol every 4 hours as soon as you get the jab would be my advice.

AZ jab

Letseatgrandma · 20/03/2021 14:29

It was about 12 hours after the vaccination I started feeling strange. Hot/cold chills, sweating, headache, aching arm and all over.

XingMing · 20/03/2021 14:30

Had the jab at 2.00 pm and by 10.00 pm I had a fever of 40 and a massive headache all next day. Completely recovered the following morning.

en0la · 20/03/2021 14:31

Jab in the late afternoon, tired the next morning then felt like I'd got flu that afternoon and night, fine the next day.

Bemystarlord · 20/03/2021 14:31

@thimble41 interesting to hear that about penicillin, i am allergic to it and have had a really nasty reaction to the vaccine. Had it Tuesday was really ill tuesday eve and all day Wednesday, things improved but still feel dizzy and achy today!

FeckinCat · 20/03/2021 14:31

Had the AZ at 10am.

Felt tired the following day and my arm hurt. Fine again the day after that.

Paracetamol relieved all side-effects very quickly.

QueenOfLabradors · 20/03/2021 14:31

Felt vaguely like I had a fever about twelve hours afterwards, and was quite glad that I'd arranged to have a non urgent paperwork day in the morning. Arm was a bit achey. Feverishness all gone after 24 hours and arm ache after 48. About half the people who have had it that I know have reported feeling vaguely iffy afterwards but only one was really unwell, and she suffers from MS. She had been warned that side effects with her necessary meds were likely to be severe for a few days, but she decided protection was better than not. One day of horrible, three days of pretty rough, and now (ten days later) pretty well all good again.

Sleepthief · 20/03/2021 14:32

Exactly 12 hours! I woke up at 2.30 am with a headache and chills. Felt tired and a bit shivery/sweaty for 24 hours total and then fine.

MrsCrosbyNRTB · 20/03/2021 14:33

I had my first vaccination (Pfizer) in December- mildly sore arm, nothing else. Second jab Monday, no sore arm but felt completely washed out and exhausted Wednesday and Thursday. I have worked a lot lately but this level of tiredness is very abnormal for me.

Absolutely bloody DELIGHTED to be fully vaccinated though!! SmileSmile

Sleepthief · 20/03/2021 14:33

DH, friend and friend's DH all felt totally fine!
