How long was it between vaccination and feeling grotty?
I usually get a flu vaccine and have no problems, but for some reason I'm a bit jittery. I'm having mine next week so checking I've got migraine meds and stuff ready just in case.

Had mine Tuesday at 3pm, woke up at 3am Wednesday feeling rough, and didn't feel well at all all day. Fever, very achey, headache etc. Have felt better day by day, but I'm still shattered now (Saturday). Not sure if it's still the jab tho, or if I've just caught whatever ds 5 has picked up from school (he's had a fever/cough Altho thankfully negative Covid test).

LostToucan · 20/03/2021 14:38

Oh, I had the AZ this morning and I have a penicillin allergy too. Guess I’d better be prepared for a rough couple of days.

Elouera · 20/03/2021 14:38

When I have a flu vaccine, I only get a sort arm and no other symptoms.

I had the AZ vaccine at 10am. By 3pm I was feeling off. Not sick or nauseous, just a bit spaced out and not myself. Both my knees were really achy when standing & walking. I do have arthritis in 1 knee anyways, but its been pain free for over a year. It felt like I suddenly had bad arthritis in both knees! The next day, I felt much better and carried on as normal, but didn't feel 100% till the following day. i had the odd sensation of what I imagine a hot flush feels like, but I didnt have a fever. I did take paracetamol though for the knee aches.

Where I was vaccinated was also tender for about 5 days, which is much longer than I normally get with the flu vax. I didnt get any headaches though. I do get occular migraines a few times a year, but the vaccine didn't trigger one.

Jab was 9:30am, started feeling a bit feverish about 7pm. By 9pm I was suffering! Had a terrible night, but started to feel a lot better by lunchtime the next day. Still tired but not so achy and sore. All fine the next day, except for my arm which was bruised and sore for a few more days.

bathsh3ba · 20/03/2021 14:42

I also get migraines but I'm 30 hours on from vaccine and no significant headache yet. Had my jab at 8.15ish in the morning yesterday; at around 8pm I felt a bit tired and achy and my arm started to feel sore. Woke up this morning having slept well but had a vivid waking dream that was a bit disturbing! When I got up I had a slightly fuzzy head but that has now gone. I'm left with just a sore arm and possibly a slight change to taste.

I had mine a month ago on a Saturday early afternoon, started feeling rough that evening. Then felt horrendous all Sunday with flu-type symptoms, still not great on Monday but well enough to WFH, then by Tuesday felt fine. My arm was sore till the end of the week.

DH had his yesterday afternoon, felt fine until this morning but is now a bit "shivery" and has a headache.

Oops, sorry for the double post!

AZ at 9am, bad headache about 3pm. Temp spiked to 39 by about 6pm. Ran a temperature all night, woke up a few times drenched with sweat. By lunchtime the next day I was absolutely fine. So I did feel rough for about 24hrs but it was short lived and well worth it.

DH has his (also AZ) yesterday and has had no side effects at all.

AZ at 2pm on a Friday, started to feel a bit ropey by about 9pm, so went to bed. Woke a couple of hours later shivering, teeth chattering etc, then hot and feverish. Took paracetamol and it settled enough for me to sleep. Next day felt exhausted, achey, bit breathless on walking etc. Was back to normal by the Monday though.

I was a bit surprised to feel as rough as I did, but am very happy to have had the jab regardless!

FenceSplinters · 20/03/2021 15:45

I had the AZ, and had a bit of a headache the next day, but it didn’t cause a migraine (and I get them a lot!). I had a really swollen gland in my armpit for a few days, but that was it really.

TaraR2020 · 20/03/2021 15:48

2.30pm Thursday, felt a bit lurgy like by 10.30pm and then an hour of shivers. Rough night with body aches, which continued on and off to a lesser degree until this morning. Hot bath helped. I just treated myself to a duvet day yesterday and back to normal today :)

NeverForgetYourDreams · 20/03/2021 15:49

Had AZ 9,30 this morning. Currently at 4pm have aching arm, feeling tired and a bit 'woolly'

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 20/03/2021 15:49

Had AZ, had sore aching arm after but that quickly turned into a burning itchy hot arm rash. Felt dizzy, nauseous, achey and tired. The next day I felt like I had flu with sore throat, headache and blocked nose. Had pins and needles in my arm and my arm rash was spreading. Had to call doctors, saw GP and apparently I developed cellulitis and was put on antibiotics. Started to feel better after 48 hours although I still have a lump in my arm that’s a bit tender. Not looking forward to the next injection but glad I’ve had it done.

luckylavender · 20/03/2021 15:50

Had AZ at lunchtime. Had uncomfortable stomach in the night, otherwise fine. At lunchtime the following day (24 hours later) headache started but still could work. Around 5 - 5.30, had the chills & felt so tired, although didn't feel like food. Took 2 paracetamol & went to bed at 8. Back to normal in the morning.

RiskyReels · 20/03/2021 16:01

I had AZ jab Thurs evening, woke up with slightly sore arm on Friday morning and felt a little bit "off" and tired on Fri, a bit wobbly like low blood sugar feeling. Had a little afternoon nap 😁 Woke up absolutely fine this morning and have been dashing about as usual!

BobbinThreadbare123 · 20/03/2021 16:05

AZ vaccine late Sat afternoon. Felt appalling for a solid week, with a painful arm, fever, headache, the lot. BUT - I have Crohn's disease and my immune system is shot. I'm under 40 too.

PiIsAReallyLongNumber · 20/03/2021 16:17

I had AZ and 24 hrs later I had chills, bad headache, sweats and an achey body. Another 24 hrs later and I felt mostly fine, still a bit headachy and tired but could function.

saffire · 20/03/2021 16:22

Had the Pfizer at 9am Saturday and started to feel ill 6pm Sunday. Was ill for about 3 days, and a few swollen glands that lasted about 10 days. Dreading the second one as that's supposed to be worse!

BobbinThreadbare123 · 20/03/2021 16:24

The penicillin allergy Vs covid vaccine thing is bullshit btw. Facebook crap that spirals out of control and feeds on fears.

AnyFucker · 20/03/2021 16:27

24 hours on the dot

AledsiPad · 20/03/2021 16:32

I had the AZ on Thursday afternoon. Was absolutely fine that day. Yesterday I was bone achingly tired, and had a sore arm,. Went to bed at 9pm and was a bit unsettled all night, but that's not entirely unusual for me so could be unrelated to be honest. Today I am quite tired, but not as bad as yesterday and my arm is a bit sore but, again, not as bad as yesterday. Suspect I will be completely over it tomorrow.

Timeandtune · 20/03/2021 16:39

DH and I had AZ at 3 yesterday. Felt amazing immediately afterwards but exhausted by 730. Slept for 11 hours. A bit achey today and incredibly tired. Took some paracetamol which definitely helped and have spent the day in bed. DH totally fine

user1471439240 · 20/03/2021 16:42

Az yesterday 0800. No symptoms at all, waited for the magic 12 hours, nothing. Slept as normal, no symptoms today, not even a sore injection site. Many people have no after effects, you tend to hear about the ones that do.
