How long was it between vaccination and feeling grotty?
I usually get a flu vaccine and have no problems, but for some reason I'm a bit jittery. I'm having mine next week so checking I've got migraine meds and stuff ready just in case.

Had my jab about 3pm on Friday, by evening I was a bit tired and arm starting to ache, had a sore arm, tiredness and a temperature on Saturday but woke up feeling fine on Sunday (Astra Zeneca)

Cookiesandscones · 21/03/2021 19:34

@SpringisSpinning honestly I am the most anxious person I have health anxiety and I was really scared for the jab And the side effects but not everyone gets side effects my DM got only a sore arm. I had mine yesterday I posted up thread this morning about having a bad night etc but today yes I have felt a bit fuzzy and still a bit achey but I have functioned ok and I just keep telling myself it’s the vaccine making me feel like this and It will be over within 2 days. Don’t work yourself up to much about it, I hope it goes all well for you

SpringisSpinning · 21/03/2021 20:22

Cookies thank you Flowers

Feeling OK so far but waiting for the 2am assault..

Yes will take some comfort though that its vaccine. Its so weird to think of this medicine /poison coursing through me.. About to take me down!!

annabellacomestotea · 21/03/2021 20:23

I felt poorly about an hour afterwards for 2 days (pfizer.) I had chills in my legs, an upset stomach and bad fatigue. I was alright after two days although on and off still get chills in my legs (not sure if because of vaccine or other reason.)

tickboxes · 21/03/2021 20:30

I had nausea, the shivers and aches which started in the evening about 8 hours after the AZ jab. Went to bed with some paracetamol and they had all gone by morning. Felt very tired all the next day but not ill. After that was absolutely fine.
DH had nothing but a sore arm and slight fatigue. He's allergic to penicillin but no sign of a reaction because of this.

BigButtons · 21/03/2021 20:37

Ah Astra Zeneca just keeps giving its gifts to me. The itchy feet which started a day after have now become itching all over my torso and scalp Hmm

dizzyandbusy · 21/03/2021 20:46

Pfizer , late Feb

Fine at the time but 10 days later the injection site became sore again ( no rash, little swelling). I've had a sore arm since - it feels like the needle has just gone in.
I've also had a swollen upper lip and sore mouth for nearly two weeks -ie it started about 10/11 days after the injection . I take antihistamine to bring it down over the day but the next morning it's back . I have spoken to the dr who gave stronger antihistamines. They haven't done much .
I posted about this on another thread . I don't want to put anyone off the vaccine - I was nervous too but went ahead .

Am I alone ? Anyone else start to react 10 days in?

Slub · 21/03/2021 20:50

I had AZ Thursday afternoon felt cold that night in bed (usually sleep with covers kicked off) and Friday felt a bit fatigued. Arm still a bit sore but have spent yesterday and today attacking the garden 👍💪

DoorbellsSleighbellsSchnitzel · 21/03/2021 21:03

I had Astra Zeneca yesterday 5pm. Went to bed around midnight feeling fine, but slept fitfully. Woke up around 8 with a banging head, got worse throughout the day so went back to bed - nausea, prickly skin, mild temperature, sore neck and shoulders, and banging head. Finally started to feel better around 6pm. Still got a bit of a headache now (9pm) but feeling much better otherwise.

Holothane · 21/03/2021 21:07

I felt nauseous for a couple of days and tired, but much better today arm a tiny bit sore but compared to my arthritis nothing really.

whataboutbob · 21/03/2021 21:12

Had AZ yesterday 9am, fine till 5 pm then really tired, shivery, feeling cold despite hot water bottle and 2 blankets. DH said I felt hot but we don’t have a thermometer. Still feel v tired now and achy. Will be interesting to see how I feel tomorrow as I’m back at work.

Timeisavirtue · 22/03/2021 00:17

@SpringisSpinning

I'm really worried, im dreading this.

I do get bad headaches and stuff... I'm so not looking forward to it I'm scared

Same..I’ve got mine Tuesday, I got side effects from the flu jab in October so not looking forward to it. I have no issue with the sore arm, I have chronic pain in my shoulder from a dislocation years ago, no issue with needles but the rest of the side effects send me into a frenzy thinking about it.
ekidmxcl · 22/03/2021 00:19

Jab 1pm.

2am got shivery. Temperature and very fluey symptoms (as in I could not get up) lasted 22 hours. Then fine.

OppsUpsSide · 22/03/2021 00:22

I had mine and apart from a sore arm was fine.
But a week and a half later I started getting weird symptoms which are now being investigated, and a week and a half after my sister’s jab she is in hospital, cause unknown. Might well just be a fluke though!

OppsUpsSide · 22/03/2021 00:26

@dizzyandbusy yes 10 days later for both of us, we had phizer too.

dizzyandbusy · 22/03/2021 05:51

Opps, I hope you and your sister feel better soon.
Could you tell me what type of symptoms you've had? Do you have allergies ? I'm allergic to penicillin and I have hay fever etc.
Was it your first or second dose ?
Thank you

Inthevirtualwaitingroom · 22/03/2021 06:03

i had the pfizer and had swollen glands under my arm and 3 days later i then got a red hot reaction at the injection site.

Inthevirtualwaitingroom · 22/03/2021 06:06

that was the second pzifer btw

whatmakesmesad · 22/03/2021 06:22

@Timeisavirtue the side effects send me into a frenzy thinking about it I think the way to reassure yourself is to remember that a couple of days’ side effects are infinitely better than Covid.

Fifthtimelucky · 22/03/2021 07:27

Jab (AZ) at 9.30 am. Fine until about 11pm. Had a bad night - felt a bit feverish and had a headache. Unfortunately I couldn't find any paracetamol. The following day I had a headache and just felt very lethargic until about 6pm, by which time I felt fine again.

Timeisavirtue · 22/03/2021 07:55

I know but I have a fear of being sick which sometimes takes over any logical thoughts I occasionally have 😞

Tejutas · 22/03/2021 08:09

Had AZ two days ago - no real side-effects - bit of a tender arm, bit tired, bit of a headache, all of which went within a day.

NeedWineNow · 22/03/2021 09:11

I had the AZ one at lunchtime on Saturday. Felt ok until I was getting ready to go to bed, about 11pm. My hands and feet felt really cold and I felt a bit achey. Went to bed and had to pull the throw over the duvet. Had a disturbed night - felt really hot, then felt cold, woke up, read, dropped off again etc. Had a lazy day yesterday, pottered, watched telly and don't feel too bad today. I did say that if yesterday had been a work day I wouldn't have logged on.

I've got a penicillin allergy and when I checked with the vaccinator she said there was no penicillin in either vaccine so no problem.

TheFairyCaravan · 22/03/2021 10:26

I’m having mine this afternoon, was supposed to be Saturday but I wasn’t well last week so much GP told me to delay it a couple of days. I’m prepared for the worst but hoping for the best.

I’ve got emetophobia, too @Timeisavirtue, that’s what I’m most worried about.

GoLightlyontheEarth · 22/03/2021 10:32

@LostToucan

Oh, I had the AZ this morning and I have a penicillin allergy too. Guess I’d better be prepared for a rough couple of days.
I have an allergy to penicillin too. I am due to have it today and now feeling very worried.
