How long was it between vaccination and feeling grotty?
I usually get a flu vaccine and have no problems, but for some reason I'm a bit jittery. I'm having mine next week so checking I've got migraine meds and stuff ready just in case.

Had AZ yesterday at 1.30. Started feeling achey around 8pm then full blown chills all though the night. Felt better this morning until lunch and I’ve vomited 5 times since.

VettiyaIruken · 23/03/2021 16:01

At some point the following day and really grotty for about a week then getting better every day until by the end of the second week right as rain.

Tessateacup · 23/03/2021 16:02

I had the AZ jab a few days ago. It was an 11am jab and by midnight i had chills and aches. The following day, I woke up with a bad headache and sore arm. Symptoms eased in the evening.

bathsh3ba · 23/03/2021 16:02

Just to follow up on my earlier post, my symptoms, which started about 12 hours after the jab, remained mild and were gone entirely in 36 hours. However I did get a slight change of taste for literally an hour (my chocolate bar tasted bland and my mouth tasted a bit metallic), which was a bit scary because I wondered if that meant I had somehow caught Covid. It disappeared after an hour though - I tested just in case and negative. Have yellow carded it.

Me too BettyBoo. Shot at 11am yesterday. Felt fine until about 6pm when I was suddenly very sleepy and tired. Went down for a nap and slept through the night. Didn’t have shivers but felt super cold under a heap of blankets all night and woke up today with every muscle aching, backache, headache... felt a bit better at lunch, even had food then back to chills and temperature by 2pm. I’m another one of those allergic to penicillin, so I wonder if it’s hitting me a bit worse. Never had such a strong reaction to any vaccines before. No ache in the arm that got the jab, though.

FirsAndFairylights · 23/03/2021 16:04

AZ here and no side effects whatsoever. 38, asthmatic.

Beamur · 23/03/2021 16:07

I had the AZ one. Approx 24 hours after having it I felt really tired. Took some paracetamol and went to bed early. Next day had slightly achey joints and arm a bit sore. Following day was fine, no pain in arm either. Felt a bit more affected than my usual flu Jan but nothing worrisome.

WhentheDealGoesDown · 23/03/2021 16:10

I'm finally feeling a bit better after being up all night with a dry mouth and temperature, it was101F this morning, our thermometer is quite old Grin bad headache started in the morning though not sure if that was triggered by sleepless night, I have also felt sick most of the day though that is usual for me if I get headache. Arm very slightly hurting, hopefully I will be back to normal tomorrow, I'm 63 so wasn't expecting this so much as it had been said older people don't usually suffer much

Xenia · 23/03/2021 16:13

Do fill in the yellow card online if you have symptoms otherwise the state and AZ don't know what reactions people have.

SedentaryCat · 23/03/2021 16:14

Had AZ vaccination at 8.30am on 10 March. Odd metallic taste in my mouth for a couple of hours and by lunch time I felt a bit off. By 6/7pm I started feeling shivery and had cold sweats. Went to bed.

4am the next morning I woke up with a fever, headache and dry mouth. Took paracetamol and slept all day. Fever had broken when I woke at around 4pm and appetite returned and I was back to normal by Friday morning.

My arm didn't feel sore until a few days later, then it became swollen and warm, and tender to the touch. It's still a little sore at the injection site now.

DH having his jab tomorrow, be interesting to see how/if he's affected by it.

Timeisavirtue · 23/03/2021 19:50

I had the jab at 12:45 today. I wouldn’t be able to report any side affects as most listed are usual for me when I’m on my period which unfortunately started yesterday so I don’t know which are from the jab or just because I’m hormonal. No sore arm whatsoever ever but that happened with my flu jab. I will say I had a metallic taste in my mouth about 30 minutes after which lasted all of 5 minutes...

NotVeryChattySchoolMum · 23/03/2021 22:39

Sunday very tired and headachy-stayed in bed all day
Monday bit headachy but better

Tuesday right as rain.

Cookiesandscones · 24/03/2021 08:03

Has anyone experienced dizziness after the 48 hour mark I got really dizzy yesterday and still quite dizzy today but I am generally a dizzy person I get dizzy a lot with hay fever and anxiety so I don’t know whether it’s just my generally dizziness or effects from the jab

thriftyhen · 24/03/2021 08:17

DH and I had ours at 6pm on Sunday. He just had a sore arm. I woke at 4am on Monday morning with uncontrollable shaking, feeling very, very cold and a bad headache. Spent Monday in bed feeling like I had flu and my whole arm was sore. Felt rough all day yesterday (Tuesday). Got up at 5 this morning to deal with animals, but am now back in bed feeling wiped out and with a headache. Hope it doesn't last much longer; I have so much to do! Not looking forward to the second dose, but shall have it done as I think everyone should.

thriftyhen · 24/03/2021 08:18

AZ vaccine.

GoLightlyontheEarth · 24/03/2021 10:21

I had mine on Monday. Still feeling dizzy, headachey. Very sore arm. I also had the metallic taste on the day I had it which lasted about half an hour. My nose is running, I have a slight cough. I feel weak and sub. Lower back pain yesterday.

CorianderBee · 24/03/2021 10:29

Had my jab yesterday at 9am. Arm ached a bit but felt fine until 7pm when I got the chills, bad muscle aches and felt peaky. Took some painkillers and went to sleep, woke up stiff with very painful arm but otherwise OK

Timeisavirtue · 24/03/2021 10:59

Almost at the 24 hour mark , I didn’t have any side effects yet.....my arm is a bit sore but that could also be because I slept on it which happens regularly. Think I won’t get any now so probably doesn’t bode well for the 2nd one 😂
