How long was it between vaccination and feeling grotty?
I usually get a flu vaccine and have no problems, but for some reason I'm a bit jittery. I'm having mine next week so checking I've got migraine meds and stuff ready just in case.

@chocolateisavegetable my leaflet says symptoms should be lessening now which they are so I am not concerned. Feel a lot perkier now than I did this morning. My arm just really aches.

I also have a medical condition that causes chronic fatigue and I suffer from that daily so that may well play a role in why I am taking more than 48 hours to recover from the aches.

But I appreciate you saying the 48 hour thing.

Ferrylights · 22/03/2021 20:15

My mum was really poorly after her Oxford, - vomiting for days afterwards and couldn't get out of bed - she felt utterly dreadful but she is quite ill anyway with lung cancer - ended up being treated by paramedics with anti sickness jabs. She's feeling better but is very wary about having another dose

HavelockVetinari · 22/03/2021 20:16

Has anyone else found that their sweat smells chemically after the vaccine? I had the AZ on Friday evening and was grand for 24h, then fluey/dizzy/headachey for 36h. Terrible night sweats though, which stank of chemicals! Really odd.

chocolateisavegetable · 22/03/2021 20:47

@EatTheCakeBarry no problem at all. Yes that certainly makes sense with your condition that it could take longer to recover Flowers

WhentheDealGoesDown · 22/03/2021 20:47

Had mine at 11, still feel fine now but feel like I am waiting to be ill, thing is DH had it a week ago, no side effects apart from slightly sore arm and reckons none of our neighbours had side effects and has told me not to be so silly and that I will be fine and thinks I am being ridiculous so if I am ill he will probably think I am making it up. I get migraines with sickness occasionally so slightly worried about that.

GloomyWaters · 22/03/2021 20:58

Had mine yesterday 1pm. Felt fine.
Woke at 4amish arm throbbing....felt hot then shivery most of the day. Arm feels swollen and very tender. Hoping feel better by tomorrow

SpringisSpinning · 22/03/2021 21:27

I thought I got away with it, unsettled night but nothing too challenging but have had bad day, migraney, sore neck muscles.. Lower back ache..

TheFairyCaravan · 22/03/2021 22:33

I had mine at 2.30 today. I had a migraine at 5pm but I’m not sure if that was the jab or the flickering sun on the way home. It’s gone now. My head feels woolly, but that might be the after effects of the migraine.

Timeisavirtue · 22/03/2021 22:53

2 of my mums colleagues had there’s yesterday. One over 50 who just had a sore arm and the other over 60 who just felt a bit achy. Both men. My uncles both had it yesterday, I’m assuming they felt okay as they haven’t text to say otherwise.

Ggeemerc · 22/03/2021 22:59

I had mine about 11am on Saturday. By bedtime had a temperature and headache, as did dh. I slept most of Sunday, felt crap all day. Dh wasn't as bad but wasn't right. Felt much better this morning. So for us we were better after about 48 hours. Also, it wasn't the worst, I could probably have done some work if I needed to.

WhentheDealGoesDown · 23/03/2021 02:06

See upthread that a couple of people had a dry mouth, I have just had to get up because mine is so dry, had my jab at 11 yesterday, got slight shivers and hotness when I went to bed at 10:30 but the worst thing is the dry mouth, arm and head doesn't hurt, thank goodness and now I have got up and sipping water and I also found some tomato juice in the cupboard which is helping, I don't feel too bad at all but I know when I go back to bed the dry mouth will come on again.

I will report on the yellow card about this.

Benjispruce2 · 23/03/2021 07:39

Feel fine this morning thankfully and not 48 hrs yet. Arm a bit sore when raising. Was told to drink lots by nurse so that stopped me getting a dry mouth. Tomato juice is salty and will increase thirst.

ThatsNotTheTeaHunty · 23/03/2021 07:40

I was fine until 24 hours afterwards I felt a bit cold and achy. Took a paracetamol and had a nap and was fine afterwards.

TheFairyCaravan · 23/03/2021 07:48

I had mine yesterday at 2.30pm.woke up at 5am with a migraine, took my usual meds and it’s gone. DH has just brought me a cup of tea in bed, I feel fine but I’m so, so tired. I think I’ll definitely having a nap today.

SirSidneyRuffDiamond · 23/03/2021 08:06

I had mine (AZ) at 3.30 pm yesterday. Slept fine and have woken up a little washed out and my arm is slightly sore. I followed a GP friend's advice and took paracetamol half an hour before the jab and then every four hours until I went to bed. I took a dose this morning at 7 and will keep regularly dosing through the day. No idea if it has helped but worth a try. She also advised lots of fluids and as much rest as possible for 48 hours.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 23/03/2021 08:56

Are we supposed to report these side effects or not?

I had AZ at lunchtime on Sunday and after about an hour my arm started aching. By bedtime I was aching all over and really shivery. Stayed in bed for a lot of yesterday because I felt so tired. If I stood up I'd think 'ooh I feel a bit tired, maybe I'll just sit down'. Last night I woke up really achy again but today I feel ok-ish apart from a really achy arm.

I must admit I felt worse than I thought I would but then I've never had flu and rarely get colds. Still worth it though if it means we can all get some kind of normality again.

GoLightlyontheEarth · 23/03/2021 09:15

I had mine 1 pm yesterday. So far just sore arm and feeling weak and a bit crap. I woke up with the beginnings of a headache, so just taken paracetamol. I really hope it doesn’t get worse. I’m trying to drink lots of water and rest.

Ladydriver110 · 23/03/2021 09:23

I had AZ jab at 9 a.m. on Friday (I'm 53). No symptoms until 3 a.m. on Saturday when I woke up with mild shivers and mild headache. Headache was worse when I woke again at 8 so I took a couple of aspirin and was fine by lunchtime.

In a way I was pleased to get side-effects, it felt like reassurance that my immune system was doing its job.

My mum had AZ jab 6 weeks ago and the only side effect was a very sore arm/shoulder and she STILL can hardly move it.

DomingoinLittleOakley · 23/03/2021 09:46

I had mine (AZ first jab) yesterday at 9.30am. Had a headache by 3pm and then got progressively more shivery, cold and achy and ended up sitting on the sofa with my winter coat over me until I gave up and went to bed at 9pm.

I kept waking through the night feeling shivery (which is a nice change actually as I'm peri-menopausal and normally wake several time feeling boiling hot!) and this morning I was very achy, but basically fine after a couple of paracetamol. I feel like you do when you've got a cold coming, but hopefully that's it.

@BobbinThreadbare123

The penicillin allergy Vs covid vaccine thing is bullshit btw. Facebook crap that spirals out of control and feeds on fears.
Was that not someone's personal experience? How do you 'know' that came from FB?

Jab at 11am. By one minute past I felt nauseous and fluey. It lasted for 2 days and then I felt fine. Just a bit of a sore arm.

tiredvommachine · 23/03/2021 14:04

I had first AZ Jab on the 12th and felt a bit headachey the next day and very tired. Over the past few days, the infection site has become very itchy and raised, like the feeling you get when bitten by a gnat or mosquito. I googled it and apparently its a thing called 'covid arm' Confused

tiredvommachine · 23/03/2021 14:04

Injection site, gahhh Angry

Areyouboredyet · 23/03/2021 15:42

I got the az last Tuesday morning, had terrible heartburn and headache at around 1am, ibuprofen and Zantac cleared both, then suffered from pain in my arm until around Sunday night
