The John Lewis Christmas ad has destroyed me. The tears were pouring down my face. Oh God. I don't know whether to be embarrassed or watch it again so I can have another cry....

Edit from MNHQ: Sorry for butting in squiggleirl - but we're just going to add a link to to the video here so everyone can sob uncontrollably enjoy it . Apologies for the intrusion!

Grin I've not seen it. What's it about this year?

excitedforbaba · 06/11/2014 09:18

Love it... I'm putting a penguin on my Christmas list

TheLostPelvicFloorOfPoosh · 06/11/2014 09:19

Is it online?

I might go and watch it too

sillymillyb · 06/11/2014 09:19

Ooh is it out now? I haven't seen it! Ds is 2.5 and "gets" Christmas this year, I am beyond excited. I can't wait!!

TheLostPelvicFloorOfPoosh · 06/11/2014 09:24

Oh it's lovely!

Damn you John Lewis!

sillymillyb · 06/11/2014 09:24

I knew what this would be about before I opened the thread!

Also had a jolly good cry too. At least the music isn't as ear wormy this year. Every time I went into JL last Christmas I was a blubbery mess! GrinSmile

anyoldname76 · 06/11/2014 09:31

Blush Me too, just watched it at work and had go to the toilets

OttiliaVonBCup · 06/11/2014 09:34

Fuck knows how they do it, they make me cry every single year.

MackerelOfFact · 06/11/2014 09:37

Aww. Every year! John Lewis must employ some total softies complete sadists to do their advertising.

Blithereens · 06/11/2014 09:40

God DAMMIT. Every year! snivels into a tissue at desk

noideawottoget · 06/11/2014 09:41

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Nishky · 06/11/2014 09:42

I don't get it- was the penguin always a toy?

Left me totally unmoved and I cried at the advert last year where they sang 'all the little things' (aldi?) so I am a regular Christmas ad crier, I think they have missed this year.

ihatethecold · 06/11/2014 09:44

Lovely

TheOnlyPink · 06/11/2014 09:48

Thought it was total rubbish. Until the end. Blubbering now.

RunDougalRunQuiteFast · 06/11/2014 09:51

Blub! Very sweet!

MistyMistletoe · 06/11/2014 09:51

Another one here blubbing like a bambino. I got the message from the off.

RunDougalRunQuiteFast · 06/11/2014 09:52

But I did have a moment of thinking 'surely you can't buy a real penguin at JL.'!

catsoup · 06/11/2014 09:57

Loved it! By far their best yet and now i have to go work a complete mess Smile

newpencilcase · 06/11/2014 09:59

I'm really cross.

My son is renowned for his imaginary penguin friend. It's the thing that makes him special. Now every fucker is going to pretend they've got one.

been around for years [[http://newpencilcase.wordpress.com/2012/10/24/happy-feet/]]

I feel sullied, like when that X Factor woman recorded Hallelujah, or Smelly Cat got turned into a cat food advert.

fuzzpig · 06/11/2014 10:00

Yep me too

I was snivelling enough when the penguin was real - the reveal tipped me over the edge though!

newpencilcase · 06/11/2014 10:00

I'm so cross I can't even do links properly

here it is
