Oh mummyzoe how far along are you?

fishandlilacs · 03/11/2011 20:08

mummyzoe hope youre ok and ame holds on for a few more weeks, at least you have got to this stage and she has avery good chance of being fit and healthy if she does put in an appearance.

redhead I used to put a protector thingy between the cot sheets that were waterproof but cottony. Can't remember the brand. Hippy chick maybe? They don't rustle, and yes the doubling up is only efective is you get a bit of barf or a slight nappy leak, not a full on puke sesh. but it can be a bit of a saviour at times. We used to have "clean up on aisle 6" as the cry over the monitor because DD was such a puker. Whoever was downstairs used to come up with a bowl of hot soapy water to clean up. The carpet rotted into holes in the end :(

greenlady sorry to hear of your toof issues. I am having a crown fitted soon because one of my teeth has split 4 ways. It's going to be gold.

addicted i'm sorry you have had the blues as it were-I sympathise, depression can do funny things to your head but you don't sound in a bad frame of mind. Think back to those days-it wasn't isolated to just feeling that way toward bump, there must have been other things too. If those things aren;t there this time you know your feelings are normal.

I am not currently depressed but I am getting very sick of pregnancy now and would happily have this baby tomorrow if i could do so safely. I met with a friend who is 36 weeks today and we had a very cathartic "i'm sick of this" rant. it was very nice to have the chance because 3 of my other closest girls are either grieving baby loss or desperate to be pregnant.

right then off to recline my poorly ribcage. i have codiene for it now but it really seems to do very little.

shonnomanom · 03/11/2011 20:09

Ok so maybe I'm not very good at copy/paste on my phone Blush

On a more serious note mz hope your ok and not stressing too much. Try to relax and take it easy. Am I right in thinking your about 29wks just now? Apart from the cervix not being as it should be are you and your little girl healthy and ok?
((((Hugs))))

ive got 11 weeks 2 days left, hope she holds in till at least 33 weeks. realy want her to come in jan but she will come when she comes. they have also said that i could have diabites so will get my blood results tomorrow for that. am a little worried now that ame will come to early.

Brownwolf · 03/11/2011 20:56

mummyzoe thinking of you, try not to stress, impossible task I know! Get lots of rest and try to eat well even if you don't feel like it.

addictediam · 03/11/2011 20:57

Mz, I was told that if you get to 31 weeks (its complicated but basicly dd was ment to be very early and she hung on till 39wks!) then the baby has a really good chance (i cant remember the stats sorry) but it sounds like your almost there. So even if the baby comes at 29 or 30 weeks you all still have a pretty amazing survival rate.

I can promise you the hcp don't always know what they are talking about, my dd is living proof of that. I know how scary it is. It will be ok, you sound like your taking it all in your stride, but if you need to rant do it here, we don't mind honestly x

Thanks fish, your right there were other circumstances, that I'm just ignoring this time, the hcp don't know what they are talking about, therefore my baby is fine and will come along at full term like dd did Smile

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 03/11/2011 21:01

fish - good luck with calling the tax office - I called them last week and they refused to give out that information on the phone, so I'm drumming my fingers waiting for a sodding letter now.

ghost - want the recipe? It's easy peasy.

And macaroons for brownies sounds likea fair swap - I love macaroons. Yum.

Oeisha · 03/11/2011 21:12

Confused mummyzoe how worrying. Fingers crossed Ame can hang on in there a few more weeks.

green Good luck with the teeth.

I'm sure I've missed more exciting news, but, well, I'm knackered.

Yet again I woke up with crippling abdo pain. Codeine was a fail, then again witht eh vommiting copiously, so rang triage who told me to come in. DH was already on the motorway, so had to ring FIL to take me in...in their camper van.

Being a Stepping Hill patient, there's security on all the entrances (most of the time), and FIL got weird looks as you have to state where you're going (seems like a slightly weird arrangement. Honestly, like someone's going to confess to sticking insulin into saline to a guy in hi-vis at the gates). There's a good 30years age difference, so the looks we got were rather amusing looks, guy even checked out my belly...
Hooked up to doppler and Abi, again goes mental. Bless her. She wasn't so pleased when they spotted a huge dip on trace and strapped the doppler on again.
Still, yet again, everything's fine (we think she was leaning in her cord). I'm in a lot less pain but utterly fed up with my body.

OOOH! I'm an Auntie! Finally! Grin Little girl 8lb12oz! Somewhat scuppers my plans to blatantly steal all SILs pink stuff, but hey-ho! Another cutie in the family! SIL ended up not having the sweep as she was 3cm when they went to do it! Mum and Dad are very excited. They were there helping wrangle children anyway, so, they're going to get to meet her! EEEK!

addictediam · 03/11/2011 21:39

Makescakes why not? I phoned up yesterday and they told me! (i did phone the wrong department tho, but the man was very helpful!)

greenlady78 · 03/11/2011 22:13

mummyzoe sending you lots of hugs!!!! Do get lots of rest and watch some silly movies, that always help me! (I have Planes, Trains and Automobiles lined up for the weekend :)

Thank you for the good wishes ladies! I always feel better after writing here....you guys are such a comfort, you have no idea!!!!!

Oieisha Congrats on the new addition, I love my little niece, too Smile

fish are you having your crown done before or after the baby? Hope it goes smoothly, I actually hate dentists! Sad

Hugs to all of you!!!!! Thanks

shonnomanom · 03/11/2011 22:31

Oh fish youv reminded me of my dental appointment on Monday. I forgot about the last one, so glad its been remembered.

Decided to have an early night but can't get to sleep as my neighbours are fighting again. Doesn't help matters that dd keeps waking up as well.

Hope everyone has a good night sleep x

Good luck with the tooth greenlady I'm sure it will be fine.

mz my friend has virtually no cervix due to having had a lot of it removed due to cervical cancer in her 20s. They told her both her babies were likely to come very early but they didn't. In fact they were a bit late. Fx for you that Ame can stay put for a few more growing weeks - as you say though she'll come when she comes but even if she comes early she has every chance of being fine.

Sorry to hear you've been in the hospital again oeisha Abi must relish the exercise she gets bishing the Doppler around - I reckon she secretly enjoys it and that's why she keeps taking you thereWink

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 04/11/2011 06:15

addicted - they just told me they can't give out that information on the phone - the guy wouldn't even confirm or deny if it was the date I thought it was. Bloody frustrating!

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 04/11/2011 06:18

Oeisha - sorry, forgot to send you - what a time of it you're having, still, at least Abi was OK. Shame you're not getting any answers though. Bet FiL was chuffed to be thought of as the dad lol

ParsleyLion1 · 04/11/2011 07:00

I'm waiting to get the same weird looks this afternoon. My dad is coming with me to the specialist heart scan this afternoon so I imagine we'll get some iffy looks. I remember when I was about 15 we came out of a party in the local village hall arm in arm and this group of women looked shocked and said "disgusting - she must be young enough to be his daughter!" Grin

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 04/11/2011 07:28

hee hee - love it!

fishandlilacs · 04/11/2011 07:51

greenlady I am having it done before baby First app is 30th Nov and 2nd is 11th of dec. I hadn't even considered not doing it that way, never had a crown before. Do you think I should get it done after? Will they drill?

Spagbolagain · 04/11/2011 09:10

mummyzoe oh dear that must be worrying, keeping fx that she stays put a little while yet.

Not been on for a while, so missed loads, hope all are ok.

Have been up all night with pukey toddler nightmare. Had no sleep, now mountains of washing. Hippychick mattress protectors lovely, great for everyday. But not for prolonged vomiting as you have to put in washing machine (unless you are rich and can afford 10, as they are blooming expensive). Get a plastic one for emergencies as they can be washed and wiped dry!

shonnomanom · 04/11/2011 09:56

Wish I could read minds. Maybe then I think I would understand dd's behaviour. She is such a grumpy in the morning and refuses to talk to me, she just squeals. This morning, in reply to being asked to eat her breakfast she flung her toy iron at me Angry luckily she has a poor aim.
Also, I'm currently acting out a housework ban as dp has forgotten that he doesn't have a maid. Il still do the laundry but I refuse to do the bin and I can't stand too long at the sink or be up and down to to the dishwasher. Needless to say that the dishes are stacking up.
His work hours have just changed and he's now on nightshift for the next 2y at least. The whole point of him going on this shift is so he can spend more time at home, but he has went in early every night this week so far.

Oh I'm just fed up today Sad

fish there will be drilling in the first appt as they will shape the tooth, then they will take a cast and moulding. You'll need a local anesthetic for the shaping bit.

The second appt should just be cementing the crown they have made in. I've had 4 crowns - usually you don't need an injection unless they have to fiddle with the fitting.

There are a couple of issues with having it done before baby - there's the anesthetic (which I'm sure they are used to but maybe just get some advice) but you might also want to check with the dentist whether you can change position. It can take a while to sort out the tooth and lying still on your back for that long might be quite uncomfy.

miamama09 · 04/11/2011 10:02

mummyzoe - ah how scary, will be thinking of you! PLEASE make sure you literally stay in bed or on the sofa and do not lift a finger! need to keep Ame in there for as long as possible (within reason!). so no work and no housework for you!

Hope everyone else is feeling better soon, we seem to having a rough time of it so far in the 3rd trimester!

greenlady78 · 04/11/2011 10:12

fish I never had a crown done before but as parsley said there is the local anesthetics (which is why I have been considering waiting after the baby is born) - but now after talking to two different doctors, two dentist and a dental hygienist (which is a very good friend of mine so I trust her! Smile ) I have decided to go ahead as they have no been shown to affect the baby - if not an urgent treatment they would still prefer to wait, but in my case it can get bad....

I am really annoyed as I had said before haven't had a filling in 15 years and had gone to the dentist 6 months ago and was fine and now this...argh, but I will no longer stress out about it, I will just have it done!

If you risk a bigger problem later it is better to treat now (I am dreading a root canal, even an infection if not treated) so the pros of having it done has won hands down! I'm sure if you talk to your dentist s/he will be able to tell you if you are able to wait or if you should go ahead now.

They treat pregnant ladies all the time and it is safe, so that is what I am keeping in mind! Smile

Wishing all you ladies a lovely day!!!!!

fishandlilacs · 04/11/2011 10:25

greenlady and parsley I have just cancelled my crown as it involves 45 mins of lying on my back-theres no way i could for that long.
