eeek, ladies, everyone is having bad times, so sorry to hear that! Let's get chanting mantras about happy healthy babies - that's what's important at the end of it, right? Really sorry to hear about plans going awry, but here's hoping that we all have sufficient warning so that we can mentally adjust to whatever needs to happen. I really want my MW-led waterbirth but I have a nagging feeling that if my blood pressure stays high they will insist that I go into the hospital instead.
parsley my baby has also gone head down, which makes me one happy and relieved MNer! The baby was ceph right occipito-anterior last week (which means head down, back on the right, baby's back in my belly) - left is the preferred orientation apparently but there's still loads of time to move, and judging by the crazy stretching feelings I'm having baby is doing just that! Fascinatingly, apparently all babies turn the same way as they're descending into an engaged position, so if they start on the left they're likely to stay anterior, but if they start on the right they might spin into a posterior (i.e. back to back) position. Loving the info I'm getting from my yoga classes! For anyone who has a baby in a less desirable position, apparently it can help to do lots of walking, sitting on a fit ball, being disciplined about posture (arch your back ever so slightly forward so that your belly is like a hammock for the baby to drift into), and spending time on all fours, especially with your head lower than your hips.
also, my bump was measuring +2 (or +3) at 28 weeks but now at almost 34 weeks I'm measuring -2, (32 weeks). I'm sure it's just how the MW measures on the day! They're not doing any extra checks for me.
greenlady I was just thinking about that! Actually I went to the loo four times last night so I think the baby is defs pressing on my bladder more due to being head down - the baby wasn't engaged at all though so I'm guessing that's why walking doesn't really feel any different for me.
We need to do a bit more decorating and buy a changing table, and then we're almost there for the little one! I am confused by my hospital bag list which says I need a 'going home outfit' for the baby - surely pamplemousse will just be in a babygro/sleepsuit type thing and the big warm snuggly outdoor suit that we've bought? Do we need a whole outfit?
And I won an almost brand new changing bag on ebay last night for £20, when they're £65 new - hope it's as nice in person as it looks online....
addicted hope you get everything you need from the physio [hugs]
I too am a fan of January 2012 - will anyone deliver before Santa?
