GAVISCON!!!

I'm not sure, I think we're bound to have at least one pre-Christmas baby, but even so, we may get to the new thread first Wink

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 03/11/2011 15:53

Giraffe - I just snorted out loud at your reply. I think you may be correct, unless something actually goes wrong for one of us!

Oh yes, "The Gaviscon flies at dawn"

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 03/11/2011 15:55

Ugh - am making DH cabbage and potato soup. It smells like a big liquid fart. I think he would be quite justified to divorce me for feeding him this. Luckily I am also making a lentil and chickpea curry for dinner... with chicken in... so he may forgive me.

Ghost - am wrapping up two brownies now!

ParsleyLion1 · 03/11/2011 15:55

Aaahh shiney Grin

ghosteditor · 03/11/2011 15:57

om nom nom... lentil and chickpea curry sounds awesome too, is it a daal of some kind? We had curry last night and I had an alcohol-free lager with it. Lager was most disappointing. I wouldn't even object to having a cheeky half of the real stuff, except that I tried that about two months ago and had a really unpleasant reaction, like I'd drunk several pints, so I've sworn off for the rest of the pregnancy.

[the gaviscon has landed]

fishandlilacs · 03/11/2011 16:16

hello hello

nice title :)

Grr one week back at school and my daughter has turned back into the grumpy back chatting stroppy tearful little winging bag of attitude.

She was soo gorgeous over half term i'm beginning to wonder if she is just too young for school being a very late aug baby. Still she's started now so there's little I can do to change it.

Were having tex mex here tonight, nachos with cheese, and chicken fajitas. I just had to spend my very last £10 on the ingredients. Because I didn't meal plan this week has cost fortune in food.

Still housekeeping pay day tomorrow and hopefully i'll hear soon if i am going to get maternity allowance. I just need to phone the tax office and find out the date I regsitered self employment as i can't remember then the application is good to go.

Had another day of sorting stuff today, mum is staying tomorrow night as it's her birthday on sat, were off to disney on ice in birmingham with dd. Well excited!

ghosteditor · 03/11/2011 16:22

stop making me hungry! Fajitas mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Am so glad I won't be working tomorrow under my new maternity leave wind down (I know, I know; I should stop mentioning it but I'm just SO EXCITED) - I just hung up on an author while trying to transfer the call to someone else, and he didn't give me his name so I can't call back Blush

Wormshuffler · 03/11/2011 16:43

Hello Ladies
Hope you are all well, I will just grab this chaise lounge over in the corner until I have something interesting to say Grin

SlightlyScrambled · 03/11/2011 16:46

Good thread title

I'm wondering too if there is truth to the Almond theory. I have almonds in my cereal every morning and no sign of any heartburn as of yet. I've probably jinxed myself now. Gaviscon is stocked and waiting.

I had enchiladas and cheesey nachoes for dinner today. Very yummy! But I'd love a beer too. Oh well... 2 more months until that.

Did a small bit of xmas shopping today and having problems moving now, thanks to PGP. I was only out for 2 hours!

addictediam · 03/11/2011 16:48

Thankyou ladies, I know its silly but I'm just so parinoid about the way I'm feeling, I really don't want to go back to that bad place I was in last time :(

Love the new thread, am considering stocking up on gaviscon Grin (does that mean I can stay!)

Fish I didn't meal plan this week either and am really struggling! But like you get the house keep tomorrow so only 1 more meal to make from thin air!

Fish is it possible to take her out of school until later on in the year? I actually remember being in reception and being very confused (late august baby too) and have always said I wouldn't my dc until 5 if they were august babies. Luckly I have an Oct baby and a (possibly) Jan baby.

fishandlilacs · 03/11/2011 16:57

addicted i don't know, it's really hard to tell if she is suffering as it were, she gives me gyp about going everyday but once she's theres she's fine and runs off and plays. Her teachers say her academic development is bang on target and they are delighted with her-she's here now doing handwriting pratice sheets of her own volition. She loves to learn and is trying so hard to read.

She almost exclusively hangs out with boys though, it's not a problem but she then seems to moan about getting shoved punched and shouted at-yet it's always the boys she goes to.

redheadbedhead · 03/11/2011 17:30

Hey everyone, thanks for sorting out the new shiny thread shon Grin

you're all making me starving hungry with your tales of mexican food and curries, mmmmmm, two of my favourite things. Why do i never cook mexican?? I love it but never cook it. do a mean chicken curry though. we're having burgers tonight though, OH is at sainsburys getting the last minute essentials...hope he hurries up...might eat my own hand....

excited at the idea the first baby may arrive during this thread!!!! hope it's not mine though, be a bit bloody early me being one of the later Jan dates!! still exciting thought.

thanks to all earlier for the essential lists, very useful. i had ordered the cot in mothercare but totally forgot about sheets and things, better get onto that otherwise it'll be a cold babba! when you guys say bottom sheets, are they waterproof ones, or just ordinary? are you supposed to have a waterproof one and then a normal one on top, or is that just in my mind?

i made macaroons and fruit cake yesterday, can i swap some for some of your brownies makes?

ParsleyLion1 · 03/11/2011 17:32

Please don't talk about food after about 9pm today - I have my GTT test tomorrow so will be on a 12 hr starvation. Note to self - must buy lucozade on way back from hypno birthing class Grin

shonnomanom · 03/11/2011 17:41

fish you just described my dd in your first post! After the holiday week then being off for a week she's being a real grumpy pants when not in nursery. We've brought forward het bedtime by 30min and trying to enforce the afternoon nap to cut down on the grumpiness. Good luck, I hope she settles again soon for you.

Dp is looking at houses just now. Which is fine but he's in one of his 'it would be the end of the world if we moved back to the village' moods Sad

addictediam · 03/11/2011 17:59

Red a waterproof sheet might wake a wriggling baby?! I have never used one, but will during potty training

I'm currently being used as a climbing frame, whilst bump is trying to kick her way out through my belly button! I'm just too tired for this! I think bump has turned back to back I can feel feet and hands Shock

addictediam · 03/11/2011 18:00

If your using a crib/moses basket remember you'll need extra sheets for thoes too, not just for the cot!

redheadbedhead · 03/11/2011 18:05

i just wondered why you have two bottom sheets, if one soaks, won't the other one Confused

supadupapupascupa · 03/11/2011 18:07

hi guys, been away for aaaaaggggggeeeeesssssss, but back now!

GTT was fine, Anti-D went in today, Flu jab yesterday (feel a bit shit to be honest) Bump measuring spot on 50th centile. Everything hunky dorey!

PGP giving me jip. Feels like my fanny bone is splitting in two. Been told to ask for a bump band thingy.

Right off now to try to catch up!
I hope everyone is well!

Oh and we are having a girl for definite Smile but i might have told you all that already.
Are we chatting about names on here or not?

redheadbedhead · 03/11/2011 18:11

hi supa it's been ages!! glad you're well and having a girl, can't remember if you told us or not, maybe check the stats thread! sorry about your fanny bone Shock

redheadbedhead · 03/11/2011 18:11

some people are doing names, others not..

addictediam · 03/11/2011 18:12

lol, thats what I thought red! But then dd was a very sicky baby (due to allergies) and would projectile vomit in her sleep (don't worry, its not normal) so her bed crib sheet would get soaked! But if you had a baby who was hardly ever sick or only a very small amount I guess it would save you stripping the bed as you could just take the top layer off?

greenlady78 · 03/11/2011 18:29

Hi girls, had quite a 'fun' week! Had my anti-d jab yesterday and survived, hooray! But went to the dentist on Tuesday for a routine cleaning and found out I have tooth decay! Sad I haven't had a filling in over 15 years!!!!!! Now this...and it is not a small one...and now am completely freaking out as they want to do a sort of treatment on it to halt it (and do a proper one after the baby is born) but I really don't want to have any anesthetics....

I asked my obstetrician and he gave the go ahead, the dentist said he treated pregnant women before and all that...but I feel so guilty...scared of treating it and also not treating it in case it gets really bad....

Gosh, so confused.....

mummyzoe2012 · 03/11/2011 19:20

hi all, dnt want to bring a downer to the new thread but ive had bleeding today and they did an internal and they said to prepair myself for a EARLY delivery as my cervix is not as tight as it should be, so got the family on standby and now trying to ensure the house is ready for ame when she decides to turn up. hope she stays put for a few more weeks but she will come when she is ready!
