Mum2be, glad your ok now, enjoy the rest. BTW GBS isnt a problem if they know about it, but you might have to keep reminding the mw's for the anti biotic top up during labour.

Brownwolf · 04/11/2011 18:41

mum2be glad you sorted now, it'd be much easier if they listened to us in the first place wouldn't it? God forbid we would know anything about our own bodies!

cakes have just made brownies but they have exploded in the oven! hope they taste good as they look a mess!

my dog is sedated and cowering behind the sofa :( but at least not hurling herself at the front door in an attempt to escape from the fireworks, which she doesn't realize are outside.

Oeisha · 04/11/2011 18:46

mum2be ain't hospitals just stressful?! Glad to hear everything's ok.

For an update on the ELCS thread. Thanks for the input guys. It's important for scared mums to hear a balance rather than just get told to expect hell.
Beatrice threw her toys out the pram and "Thanks for totaling misunderstanding the purpose of my post and treating me like an idiot. Will surely not post again on this forum!" I have said that's the last thing I wanted and reitterated what I said, but, well, she can't basically accuse me of being unrealistic and then not expect me and others to react.

brownwolf Sad So close! Ah well, at least you were almost there. I don't see a problem with booking it. If you don't feel ok at the time, don't sit the test, but I'm sure you'll be fine.

Righty, dinner's almost ready and I have a chicken to disect....

ParsleyLion1 · 04/11/2011 20:50

So baba had her heart scan this afternoon and she is pronounced A ok. I thought it was ok but it's good to have the confirmation Smile

Mind you they were running an hour and a half late for appts and I didn't get out til 18.30 and then had to drive home through London rush hour on a Friday night. Luckily the traffic wasn't actually too bad but all in all a 5 hr round trip!

Brownwolf · 04/11/2011 21:33

that's excellent news re the scan parsley :)

Oeisha · 04/11/2011 21:43

parsley excellent news!

I'm currently being lightly hooved in the bladder at a rate of just over 1 hooving a second. Abi's also just generally wriggling a bit. Is this the infamous hiccups I've been hearing about???

My furbabies have gone mental too brownwolf. Luckily mine are just the hiding somewhere or pissing on everything type. Cleaned up 2 wees so far and expect to find more. I'd love to drag my rug round to the jerk that let off fireworks that were so noisey the floor vibrated and smear the wee on his/her face...
My Zylkene I ordered hasn't arrived yet (cat and dog suitable), so they're just doped on Feliway. Adaptil is the dog version. Has to be used anything up to 3 weeks in advance though.

shonnomanom · 04/11/2011 21:51

Great news on the scan parsley
Sorry to hear youv been back to the hospital oeisha glad your both ok

brownwolf there was a story in the paper recently about a woman that went into labour during her driving test. Once she wad told that she had passed she drove straight to hospital and gave birth!

m2b glad to hear that their listening to you now

Iv had horrible bh tonight. Worst its ever been. Nice hot bath seems to have helped.

GAH! I'm obviously tired (awaiting a text from my parents who were on the m5...they'll be fine, they just haven't listened to the news I bet), that and DH isn't home...anyway...
I've been looking at grobags for Abi. Just checked out their website and the temp range I'm guesing the room falls in (18-20c max, currently 19c downstairs, where all lifeforms are) seems to advocate a LS cotton body, with a pj top and a gro-bag of any tog...surely that can't be right. Surely she'll thus have to wear more in a 0.5 tog than a 2.5 tog..?! Either that, or I'm being exceedingly dim. Methinks their table needs more work.

addictediam · 05/11/2011 06:47

Dd wears a ls vest unless its really cold and I put her in a baby gro and that's with a 2.5 tog but she really doesn't like it, she much prefers the weight of blankets on her.

ParsleyLion1 · 05/11/2011 07:44

Morning Smile

Hope you heard from your parents Ok oeisha

addictediam · 05/11/2011 07:53

Oeisha I've just seen the news, thats not far from where my parents live Sad no doubt my dad (emergancy services) will be there

shonnomanom · 05/11/2011 10:16

Morning ladies
Hope everyone with family & friends on or around the m5 are ok x

Sleepbags: dd was always in her sleepsuit with a vest in a 2.5tog. But being a May baby it was autumn/winter before she wad big enough for a gro bag. Tip: tm maxx usually have a good selection of gro bags a lot cheaper or get them in the sale. They are expensive at full price. Also the Asda version was quite good too

Ello!
Yes, parents are fine.
Where do your parents live addicted mine actually live in bridgwater, but would have had to gone down a junction to get round the carnival clear up.
I wasn't planning on buying a grobag one, but thought they might have a good guide on what tog to buy...ah well.

addictediam · 05/11/2011 13:57

My parents live in a village on the outskirts of wsm. And my dad has been there, he said it was awful :( one of the worst RTC's he's been to.

Oeisha · 05/11/2011 14:30
Sad Hope we're all having ok days!
ParsleyLion1 · 05/11/2011 15:17

OK ish, I've located all my Devon based friends and family who might have been on the M5 which is good news.

My furniture has just been delivered back from storage and I've tried to unpack several kitchen boxes but I can't because I can't get to the cupboards I need to get to - humpph. I've had workmen here all day and they are in my way now.

Oeisha · 05/11/2011 16:27

parsley I'm having similar frustrations. Wondering why the hell the previous owners of this gaff stuck a plug socket behind a door, 2ft from another socket on the same wall and 2ft the other side of the door is another plug. None in the rest of the room... Trying to plan the layout of the nursery... The best plan for furniture covers the radiator with the bed, but also leaves the bed without it's own light...but then I can't get a bedside talbe anywhere near a socket anyway... Hmm

ParsleyLion1 · 05/11/2011 16:41

I find I have a lot of extension leads oeisha. No beds in my house have sockets near them. Hmm

fishandlilacs · 05/11/2011 16:45

God that accident was awful-Mum and dad were held up even at our end and were much further up coming from gluc to worcester they were still delayed. At least they weren't nr the damn accident. The motorway has melted :(

Can I just say WOW WOW WOW, disney on ice was incredible, DD's face made me cry, so full of wonder and delight. DH and dd haev gone to drop mum back home now. I have an hour or two to kill on my own while they do that.

What a day

ParsleyLion1 · 05/11/2011 16:58

How lovely fish I love watching childrens' faces at things like that. :)

ParsleyLion1 · 05/11/2011 18:15

Pants. Cat has broken out of taped up cat flap about 5 mins before fireworks started. Now is nowhere to be seen Sad

fishandlilacs · 05/11/2011 18:27

:( parsley It's such a bloody worry isn't especially when they get out on bonfire night. Any sensible cat will either get back in bloody quickly or hunker down somwhere until they feel safe then reappear looking unhappy later on. If only you could explain it to them, hey?

ParsleyLion1 · 05/11/2011 18:38

He didn't do the former and I've been on a search for him. Hopefully he's just hiding somewhere. Poor thing Sad

ParsleyLion1 · 05/11/2011 19:15

Phew he's back. Smile doesn't seem bothered at all. Extra tape on cat flap now.
