2nd stillbirth in 6 months. In shock.

Had stillbirth at end of november - at 25 weeks. Got pregnant again 2 months later and went for 16 week scan this morning to be told this baby has died too. Am in shock but devestated - seems so unfair to happen twice in a row.

That's it really - just wanted to tell someone. I have to give birth on Wednesday.

I have felt like such a lucky person all my life and at the moment am feeling bloody unlucky and don't quite know what to make of it.

whereas in november I always knew i'd have another baby, this time I just don't know if I could go through pregnancy again. Am feeling pretty grim about the whole thing to be honest.

DHW, just wanted to add my condolences. It is a really sh*tty thing to have happen, and you are right it is so unfair. I agree with Womba1, give yourself time to grieve, you may feel differently about trying again at some point in the future. Hugs, I'll be thinking of you on Wednesday

I am not sure whether this is the right time to mention this and really hope this line of thought doesn't upset you.

Try and arrange a referral to a recurrent m/c clinic. They will definatley see you because of your two losses. Make sure you or DH ask the doctor on wednesday about what tests are going to be carried out. I have learnt from expereince they do nothing unless you ask. If you ask about a referral now you may be ready for the appointment when it comes. They generally take 3 mths.

I am really sorry if this seems insensitive.
It's just that I wasted a lot of time between m/c by not asking for anything and just hoping that the doctors etc would do everything possible for me. They didn't. It has taken me 2yrs and 7 m/c
to have any analysis done.
I now have an appointment at Lesley Regans clinic on 6th June.
If you are in the catchment area an appointment takes 10 weeks.
