2nd stillbirth in 6 months. In shock.

Had stillbirth at end of november - at 25 weeks. Got pregnant again 2 months later and went for 16 week scan this morning to be told this baby has died too. Am in shock but devestated - seems so unfair to happen twice in a row.

That's it really - just wanted to tell someone. I have to give birth on Wednesday.

I have felt like such a lucky person all my life and at the moment am feeling bloody unlucky and don't quite know what to make of it.

whereas in november I always knew i'd have another baby, this time I just don't know if I could go through pregnancy again. Am feeling pretty grim about the whole thing to be honest.

they don't have any idea why it's happened again. They did an amnio immediately to send off for testing. May have an answer in a couple of weeks.

Dhw, when my little boy died at 30 weeks, i decided there and then that i didn't want anymore children, that i couldn't handle going through it all again. That i'd fall apart if i lost another baby. I now have a beautiful boy who has just turned 3 and a 4 month old dd.
The way you feel today isn't necessarily how you're going to feel tomorrow, or next week etc...
Give yourself time xxx

This is so horribly, horribly unfair, I can't imagine how shocked & devastated you must feel.
There are lots of people on here who will support you so keep posting if it helps, I am of no specific use but I am thinking of you and will be on Wednesday x

The 2nd time it happened I'd gone to the Fetal Medicine Centre for a nuchal scan, to be told my baby was dead . They`were very positive with me that it wasn't that significant { statistically, that is} for it to happen twice and that prospects were still good for any future pregnancy.I found out later, after tests, that the baby had downs syndrome and as I was 37 then and took so long to get over it, felt the risks of trying again were too high. It is the biggest regret of my life that I didn't try again.
