Feeling a bit depressed, I split up with my ex a year ago (I’m 35 now) and worrying that he had all my best years and I will never find anybody because I am old.

OP posts:
purser25 · 14/06/2025 16:33

Never had much in the way of looks so they can’t fade

Pippa12 · 14/06/2025 16:35

Nah, I’m 40 and feel like I’m just finding my way after kids. I’ve lost abit of weight, had abit of help with Botox and take care of my skin. Don’t get me wrong I’m no Kate Moss but I feel better now than I did in my early 30’s!

REDB99 · 14/06/2025 16:35

I’m 45 and can now see a difference from the 35 year old me. I have a very young looking face anyway but the lines around the eyes when I smile are my biggest bug bear.

greencartbluecart · 14/06/2025 16:35

Firstly you ard not old

secondly you don’t have to have looks to find someone who likes you -you the person as opposed to you the container. What matters is a deep connection and relationship built on shred values and interests

Saltedcarameltiramisucheesecake · 14/06/2025 16:35

I'm 62, still gorgeous 😍

Canshehavewaferthinham · 14/06/2025 16:35

Not yet-43. I work out a lot and have botox.

hedgerunner · 14/06/2025 16:36

I’m 42 and I don’t think my looks have faded. I look better now than what I did at 30. Mainly due to losing weight, weight training, more money and time to invest in skincare.

Thedogscollar · 14/06/2025 16:36

At 35 you are not old. Relationships should not be based on looks alone. If they are they won't work.
Cheer up and enjoy your youth.

TheWisePlumDuck · 14/06/2025 16:36

Around 8 years old.

According to my late evil grandmother anyway.

I'm 61, and I'm still gorgeous too😊

WordleForWordle · 14/06/2025 16:38

Around 47. I am now in my early 50s. Luckily, I was never naturally beautiful though scrubbed up okay. My identity was much more around my brains and my job rather than my looks. I think that’s why it’s all been easier for me. I still make an effort, I dress well and am slim etc but things have definitely changed, when I look in the mirror!

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 14/06/2025 16:39

Well, as I'm early/mid 40's, I'm no longer in the first flush of youth but there's a shit load more to me than my face and body. I'm sure the same is true of you.

As for being too old to find a new relationship, that's clearly nonsense. People in their 80's and 90's find new love and get married. There's definitely hope for a 35 year old!

wastingtimeonhere · 14/06/2025 16:41

Never a 'looker' to start but definitely started aging rapidly in last 3 years..now 58. Thanks menopause! I am active, do sports, walk 20k plus steps daily. Struggling to shift middle spread, saggy skin, jowls. < sigh>

Almostwelsh · 14/06/2025 16:42

Menopause

NiLunNiLautre · 14/06/2025 16:42

You’re not old, you’re young! And guess what, men get older too, even single ones.

I’m happy enough with how I look at 56 TBH, except for my craggy neck.
Suppose it helps that I’m happily married.

Disturbia81 · 14/06/2025 16:44

I’m 44 and feel better lookswise than I ever have. You are too young to feel like this, though I don’t think anyone should but yeah you need to work on your confidence and do some self care.

rainbowunicorn · 14/06/2025 16:44

This is really sad to read. Do you really guage your self worth on how you look? You have your whole life ahead of you.

ThePoshUns · 14/06/2025 16:45

53 and still fabulous

Exactly, men are alongside us.

ohyesido · 14/06/2025 16:47

I wish I was 35! I’m 43 now and can only dream of being 35

Yep my mum was getting propositioned in her 70s and my grandma found love in her 80s, and infact was the happiest she’d been.

DramaAlpaca · 14/06/2025 16:37

I'm 61, and I'm still gorgeous too😊

Beat you both, I’m 71 and still got it!

Seriously @Triviall I was 43 when I met my bloke and he told me I was the most beautiful woman he’d ever met, he still tells me that. We live in a society obsessed with youth but I can honestly say I looked better in my 40s than I did in my 20s. Looks don’t fade, they change.

Jojimoji · 14/06/2025 16:49

You're 35!!!!
Go and stand in front of a mirror and repeat after me "I am gorgeous, I am in my prime, I have the best yet to come"

You're just going through a low period.
It'll pass.
At 35 you've years and years of fabulousness ahead of you. X

I'm 65 and more gorgeous than either of you youngsters.

ninjahamster · 14/06/2025 16:57
