We've just spend a lot getting our kitchen done.
I was advised gloss would be easier to keep clean, and we had matte (well painted wood) cabinets before so decided gloss no handles.
It's showing every bloody finger print! Yes it cleans very easy but every day there is are fingerprints.

Does it look ok? Honest opinions please 😞

Lovely. I can see ceiling height cupboards and floor level lighting. Both get my vote. I bet only you can see the fingerprints. Soon you will not notice them.
Enjoy your lovely room.

WhateverMate · 08/01/2024 23:56

OMG honestly, I got a new kitchen a few months ago and my ONLY regret is not getting handles, for the same reason 😫

Bloody fingerprints everywhere!

WhateverMate · 08/01/2024 23:57

I hope that's the case for the OP but it's certainly not for me.

They're there for all to see I'm afraid.

Loveablockheel · 08/01/2024 23:59

I can see handles??

I can see handles??

Me too, unless I'm hallucinating 😂

DontLeanOnTheKeyboard · 09/01/2024 00:04

You also appear to have a Deatheater in your kitchen.

Hairspray123 · 09/01/2024 00:05

Honestly, looks fine, not to my taste but fine.

SnowBotherer · 09/01/2024 00:07

The witch from the before photo has been in and added handle to your cabinets.

i wouldn't have gloss and mainly because they do show up fingerprints & everything else. They might be easy to clean, but I don't want them looking like they've never been cleaned!

you need a suitably horrible punishment for anyone caught not using the handles.

its too late now to change it, so you'll have to find a way of living with it. Either make friends with the finger prints or have a cloth in one place that's there for wiping off the finger prints.

i pray if you have kids, they're toddlers.

it looks lovely. I dove straight into the photos and was struggling to think what I could say about your new kitchen that was positive,,,thank hid it was actually your old kitchen!!

sugarfuzzy · 09/01/2024 00:09

The deatheater/witch is DH 😂😂 he always has to get himself in photos haha!
We stupidly went for no handles as we have a toddler so thought no handles would stop her getting into the cupboards.. which is fairness it has.. she's just decorating them with hand prints instead! 🤦🏼‍♀️

We had white gloss for 10 years in our old house. Never looked grubby.
We have had white gloss for 6 months in our new house and it drives me mad. They were newly installed when we moved in so it not like they are old.

A dry glass cloth is the best thing for wiping.

Superduper02 · 09/01/2024 00:10

It's gawwwjus!

sugarfuzzy · 09/01/2024 00:11

It's kind of like bars at the bottom of the cupboards which I guess could be classed as handles? Unless people are looking at the before photos x

But you do realise, you have handles, on every single cupboard that i can see. Confused

FiveShelties · 09/01/2024 00:13

You have handles!

MarmitePizza · 09/01/2024 00:14

It looks nice - much better than before.

They are handles though.

Cupboards with “no handles” literally have no handles at all!

Fidgety31 · 09/01/2024 00:14

You definitely have handles on the new cupboards !
it’s nice - but too much clutter on the worktops for me

Wingedharpy · 09/01/2024 00:14

Is your sink black?
Is your water hard?
Just asking...

PS. It's lovely.

PurplePansy05 · 09/01/2024 00:15

Sorry, not to my taste, the entire kitchen is not what I'd have chosen. 😬

sugarfuzzy · 09/01/2024 00:15

Are they classed as handles? I just see handles as being the kind that are in the before photo.. I think with them being where they are we're opening them with the bars/handles but then mindlessly shutting them just by pushing them which is causing the fingerprints maybe

JennaIee · 09/01/2024 00:16

You definitely have handles! But it's lovely and modern looking.

sugarfuzzy · 09/01/2024 00:18

@Wingedharpy yes and yes... why? I'm worried now haha

sugarfuzzy · 09/01/2024 00:19

Ok.. maybe I do have handles! The kitchen is a bit of a mess trying to decide where to put stuff x

GetWhatYouWant · 09/01/2024 00:22

Did you post about this a few weeks ago, the kitchen pictures ring a bell?
The bars on the cupboards are definitely handles.

BrightGreenMoonBuggy · 09/01/2024 00:22

I’m a bit baffled. How, until a few minutes ago when you were told on here, could neither of you tell that you’ve got handles? The big silver things you are both pulling on to open the doors! What were you both thinking those were?

Chasingsquirrels · 09/01/2024 00:24

The handles thing is bizarre.

My kitchen has handles, I use them to open the drawers and doors, but I never use them to close them - I just push them shut.
