Just wondering if people really experience this or whether it’s just in movies! I’m mid forties now so probably too late for me but just curious as to whether it does really happen!

Yes,it was instant and we're still together over 30 years on,it was like a lightening bolt.

Lollipop20 · 22/04/2023 22:35

Yes! Lol

JamSandle · 22/04/2023 22:35

Yes I have!

Minfilia · 22/04/2023 22:36

Yes, of course. And it feels like something else!

But instant physical attraction/chemistry hasn’t meant long lasting relationships. Quite the opposite, in my case…

AnneLovesGilbert · 22/04/2023 22:36

Oh yes. We had a spectacular summer. Didn’t have much in common but chemistry and I can’t even remember his last name now.

crazeecatlady · 22/04/2023 22:37

Def yes

TreeLine23 · 22/04/2023 22:38

Definitely! 🙂

stealthninjamum · 22/04/2023 22:38

Yes with dp who I met online dating when I was in my mid 40s so don’t give up hope.

JupiterFortified · 22/04/2023 22:38

Yes, just once though. I’ve read about “twin flames” which sounds like cuckoo bullshit😂 but it’s the only thing that’s come close to describing it

AnneLovesGilbert · 22/04/2023 22:39

It’s never too late!

Have you seen Four Weddings? I’m sure that guy was well over 40.

ChocAuVin · 22/04/2023 22:39

Hell yeah.

RestingMurderousFace · 22/04/2023 22:40

Yes! Happened last year, we're well into our 40s.

BonnieGlasses · 22/04/2023 22:40

No, never. (Just to balance the thread!)

Sapphire387 · 22/04/2023 22:41

Yes, he's now my husband.

Attractedtotheofflimits · 22/04/2023 22:41

Yes absolutely.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 22/04/2023 22:42

Yes absolutely.

Didn’t end up with any of those people sadly.

Blueberry40 · 22/04/2023 22:42

Yes, with my now husband.

Tr1skel1on · 22/04/2023 22:43

Yes! 25 years ago and I was dating someone else, as was he. We've been married 23 years

Anaemiafog · 22/04/2023 22:43

I spent a long hot Summer working in the South of France in my early twenties. He was the most beautiful man I've ever seen and it was electric. He wanted me to stay but I had to come back for college. I've been in love since, including with DH (married almost thirty years and definitely didn't settle,) but have never felt anything like it.

Boomboom22 · 22/04/2023 22:43

Yes but they might not be the sort you want to date! Can be though.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 22/04/2023 22:44

Absolutely yes

Treasureboxkey · 22/04/2023 22:45

Yes. But never acted on, though I'm certain that he felt the same way.
It was like a heat coming of both of us and I couldn't breathe around him.
We were both in relationships with other people.

Username24680 · 22/04/2023 22:45

Yes! I call him my “life ruiner” 🤣 we were young - 19/20ish. All he had to do was look at me 🙈🤣
Things dragged out over 3 years. He wanted to give things a proper shot (we’d been very casual on/off when every we were both single) but I knew by this stage that he could absolutely shatter my heart - and I didn’t trust that he wouldn’t do that 😅 so I walked away 🙈
Met my now DH 2 months later and we’ve been together ever since.

Motheranddaughtertotwo · 22/04/2023 22:48

I have once, he’s now my husband.

Bimbom · 22/04/2023 22:49

Yes. Slept with him about 2 hours after we met. Not very good at one night stands as we've now been married for 10 years 😂
