To ask how long you waited to have sex after baby?

Baby is three weeks old and thanks to a combination of a fast labour and tiny baby there is very little damage down there (had one stitch). Is it weird that i am horny and raring to go. But I think it may be too soon physically plus need to get condoms (don't want another baby soon).

How long did you wait and how was it? Any regrets?

2 weeks, very straightforward labour and no tears.

Santaisstilleatingmincepies · 10/01/2022 22:08

Youngest was emcs. Managed to hold off for 2 weeks.
Blush
Vaginal birth once waited 10 days. Hormones..

ETgo · 10/01/2022 22:10

5 days after with dc2 - straight forward birth and no stitches etc.
With dc1 it was about 5 weeks as bad tear and lots of stitches

TokyoSushi · 10/01/2022 22:11

A couple of weeks. I think you'd be find just use protection and go carefully!

Whoknowsweknows · 10/01/2022 22:12

About 8 months first time, can’t remember second. Too tired with a new baby and working.

DramaAlpaca · 10/01/2022 22:12

You lost me at 'Irish twins'.

I take it you are unaware how offensive that phrase is?

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 10/01/2022 22:14

I was horrendously horny post-birth and could do nothing about it! As soon as you feel up to it I guess.

Lazypuppy · 10/01/2022 22:14

6 months as i was breastfeeding and the thought of sex, definitely not for me 🤢 i have a pretty low sex drive anyway

MasterBeth · 10/01/2022 22:14

Congratulations on your baby and your horniness!

Just so you know, “Irish twins” can be considered a racist term so you might want to think of another way to phrase this if you talk about it in real life!

HalloHello · 10/01/2022 22:14

Jesus Christ 5 DAYS?? I couldn't get my baby to lie down anywhere on their own at 5 flipping days?? Is this some kind of weird boasting thread??

I was 6 months after with my first, long labour, breastfeeding, clingy baby and then once she moved into her own room. Current baby is 4 months and feeling ready to go now but certainly not while he's asleep next to me!

There is a small risk to having sex too soon so important to be healed first.

BurntO · 10/01/2022 22:16

6 weeks with the first. Longer with the seconds.

Please don’t use the term Irish twins…it’s more than impolite

Bells3032 · 10/01/2022 22:16

@masterbeth oh no. I never knew there were any racist undertones to it. Just that it meant having two babies within a year of each other. Apologises will ask hq to change.

Oh no 6 months, breast feeding just put me right off. Felt toooo weird.

HebeMumsnet · 10/01/2022 22:21

We've edited that post for you now, OP.

Lennon80 · 10/01/2022 22:22

Eight months, six months (torn) and three months roughly

goldensilver · 10/01/2022 22:26

5 days WTF

ffscovid · 10/01/2022 22:28

About a year Blush. First time we 'did it' after having DC1, we conceived DC2 Grin

goldensilver · 10/01/2022 22:28

Could barely even sit down after 5 days, never mind even think of having a penis anywhere near me

Superstar22 · 10/01/2022 22:31

About 7 days after a emergency (awful) c section. Really wanted to, so did.

FancySomeChips · 10/01/2022 22:33

Tried after 3 days but chickened out- I was rampant, had been all the way through pregnancy too, waited a couple more and it was great!

IWasFunBeforeMum · 10/01/2022 22:33

9 months. And baby 2 was conceived.

Notajogger · 10/01/2022 22:33

About a year. I think we were both too traumatised (and knackered, with a super clingy baby).

Hugasauras · 10/01/2022 22:33

A couple of months. I bled for a few weeks and was all touched out, tbh!

MrsMo21 · 10/01/2022 22:34

3 months after ELCS - my MH was in tatters and I was exhausted.
Kudos to those 5 days + …. Wish I’d felt that good after having DD!
