To ask how long you waited to have sex after baby?

Bells3032 · 10/01/2022 22:06

Baby is three weeks old and thanks to a combination of a fast labour and tiny baby there is very little damage down there (had one stitch). Is it weird that i am horny and raring to go. But I think it may be too soon physically plus need to get condoms (don't want another baby soon).

How long did you wait and how was it? Any regrets?

7 months after straightforward birth with dd1

aaaaaaaaaaaah · 10/01/2022 22:35

Tried at 6 weeks after a c section, it really hurt, then tried again a few weeks later and it was better. Took a while longer not to be uncomfortable and slightly painful though

BitcherOfBlakiven · 10/01/2022 22:38

7 months.

It was my sisters 30th, the first time we’d left DD overnight and the first time I’d drank in fuck knows how long.

That’s how we got DD2 Grin

I remember being around 12 weeks post birth and asking ExDH if was arsed about sex - I’d been in hospital from 26 weeks so no sexual activity AT ALL between us - his response was

“Erm… I feel like we should give your vagina a rest, love”

Still laugh whenever it crosses my mind.

emmylousings · 10/01/2022 22:38

About 5-6 weeks with both DC. All good, I felt relieved, fortunate and happy!

MooseBreath · 10/01/2022 22:38

6 weeks, but tearing and stitches was an issue. Turned out to be too soon, as it rather hurt.

MrsTimRiggins · 10/01/2022 22:38

10 days after ELCS

BitcherOfBlakiven · 10/01/2022 22:39

Both births were less than 2 hours, small babies and no damage beyond tiny tears due to the speed that I labour, but Christ if he’d swung his dick in my directed any time within a few months I’d probably have snapped it off.

Minniem2020 · 10/01/2022 22:44

Can't remember how long exactly but quite a while with DD, stitches and bleeding for what seemed like forever.
6 weeks with ds but DP is quite large and I kept telling him to be gentle the whole time so probably not the best for himGrin

Strawberry0909 · 10/01/2022 22:45

About 7 months after Ds1 , first night alone , ds2 is 3 months and I have no desire anytime soon!

Barbarantia · 10/01/2022 22:46

About a year for each birth. Breastfeeding with zero external help. And I'm very very fertile. Have always conceived on first try so have to be extra careful with contraception.

GrandTheftWalrus · 10/01/2022 22:48

3 weeks after dd1.

4 months after dd2.

CantStartaFireWithoutaSpark · 10/01/2022 22:48

3 months, assisted forceps, lots of damage.

Ponoka7 · 10/01/2022 22:49

I'd forgotten how acceptable racism towards the Irish is on MN. If the OP had written Muslim or African twins, this thread wouldn't be here.

marykitty · 10/01/2022 22:50

2 months after DS1, now we are 2 months pp with DD2 and I am honestly too tired to even consider it Confused

MrsPotatoHead22 · 10/01/2022 22:51

1st 2 weeks.
2nd, 10 days.

Natural deliveries. No stitches. A little tighter than normal! Definitely use condoms, we conceived number 2 at 4mthsPP. Grin

Do it when you feel ready. Put a towel under you and take it slow. Congratulations on your new baby. Smile

Rubyupbeat · 10/01/2022 23:06

@MasterBeth
What rubbish, even my Irish friends ise the term Irish twins!

HalloHello · 10/01/2022 23:11

Does no one bleed after birth no?? I bled for weeks with both my babies, and it stinks so no way I would be letting anyone near me

Bakewelltart987 · 10/01/2022 23:15

People saying 2 weeks Jesus I needed about 6/7weeks and even then it was uncomfortable/sore I had straight forward birth no stitches.

EishetChayil · 10/01/2022 23:17

A year and a half, when I wanted another one Blush

MrsPotatoHead22 · 10/01/2022 23:18

Yes of course but not heavy and I showered so I didn't stink.
vodkaredbullgirl · 10/01/2022 23:19

Till I wanted another baby lol.

Bells3032 · 10/01/2022 23:20

Yes. Bleeding seems to have stopped in the last day or so. Hence why now considering it. Wouldn't do whilst bleeding (nothing wrong for those that do I just couldn't deal with the mess)

@DramaAlpaca

You lost me at 'Irish twins'.

I take it you are unaware how offensive that phrase is?

Where did she say that ???
JanuaryPinks · 10/01/2022 23:22

Maybe 3 months both times? Straightforward births but was breastfeeding and not interested at all. Did it both times to check that everything was ok!

GinWithLemon · 10/01/2022 23:22

8 weeks, no tears during labour
