Please can you give me your opinions.

I screenshotted my partner a funny picture of him on a day out where he was in some gardens waving and sent it over to him with giggles on the photo remembering the day.

A minute later he sent me a screenshot back but I noticed at the top of the page there was this written above the picture as if to say go back to the previous page

The words plenty of fish are in bold so he manually searched for it in order to pretend it came up accidentally, in his second screenshot to OP.

Yes I know, but his lie was that it was just an advert on Twitter, it just proves even more that he was lying.

Even if his lie was true (which it isn’t) he still would’ve had to have been searching for POF for the adverts to pop up on his Twitter, or anywhere else.

It wouldn’t be something you’d get a completely random advert for if you hadn’t searched for that type of site.

BurntO · 09/01/2022 00:04

The fact that plenty of fish is highlighted means he’s searched for plenty of fish on Twitter. Probably only to back up his lie. He’s lying OP sorry

Merryoldgoat · 09/01/2022 00:06

@Lolabray

Thanks everyone, I’ve been married to a player, left him became a single mum, I’m not going to put up with this bullshit from a man who is supposed to love me, I’d rather be alone.
This attitude will stand you in good stead OP.

You are better than that.

DayzeeDaresYou · 09/01/2022 00:07

Sorry this happened to you.

Sadly some men are disgusting twats.

HoneyBlahBlah · 09/01/2022 00:11

@Thedogscollar

I completely agree, there really are some horrible, awful bullies on this site 😔 good for you for standing up for OP!! x

Journeynotdestination · 09/01/2022 00:12

Don’t give him the time of day after this. Keep your boundaries strong and BIN.

Lolabray · 09/01/2022 00:15

DayzeeDaresYou Thanks for making me laugh. Yes .. a lot are

Get a lovely companion dog...SO much nicer and far more faithful than a man...I love having a dog again..she is sleeping on my bed now...and she doesn't google ''Plenty of fish'..But she does love sprats.

A lot.

MadeForThis · 09/01/2022 00:21

You don't have to prove that he is lying. You don't need to gather evidence. You know the truth. You can just walk away.

I'm sorry x

Lolabray · 09/01/2022 00:23

oakleaffy Unfortunately this must be the fourth of fifth time in my life that I’ve been through this now. My doggy is laid at side of me snoring away. Think I’ll just stay happy with her x

pastabest · 09/01/2022 00:23

I'd be fucking insulted he:

a) was stupid enough to screenshot it
b) then denied it
c) SEARCHED twitter for POF believing you would be stupid enough to fall for it as some kind of proof that he just clicked on a random advert
d) was stupid enough to screenshot his stupidity AGAIN

PoshPyjamas · 09/01/2022 00:25

Jesus - well at least you know, and you’re not accepting his bullshit!

Sprucewillis · 09/01/2022 00:25

Yeah he's def not your equal in intellect anyway so well rid. Sorry OP it still sucks Sad

Theunamedcat · 09/01/2022 00:29

If you can't find him ask a single friend to look

sociallydistained · 09/01/2022 00:40

Let's hope he's embarrassed. What a dick. Good on you OP. Life's too short for more of this shit.

caringcarer · 09/01/2022 00:46

You caught him out and he is trying to cover up his lying arse.

JoBrodie · 09/01/2022 00:47

In your screenshot there's a second arrow, to the right of the time, which looks like the location services icon on an iPhone. This icon is active when an app has your permission to know where your phone is and is using it to tell you local info (very useful for things like Citymapper, for 'how far am I away from the cinema' type of thing).

The icon being active doesn't automatically mean that he was looking for people locally at that time (though that is certainly a possibility) - he may just have given fairly wide-ranging location permission to most apps, letting them use this service. Some apps like to target which local restaurant you'll see in an advert for example.

I also don't know / can't tell if the location services icon is referring to the dating app or the messages app. In either case being on the app itself is sufficiently bad anyway! I'm sorry OP.

Attached is a screenshot (for privacy reasons I've moved the map to display Charing Cross, not my location). The location services arrow is in the status bar at the top, next to the 53% charge. The larger grey arrow below it would take the map back to my current location.

From iPhone's page about location services and how to filter which apps may / may not use it support.apple.com/en-gb/HT203033
"When Location Services is active, a black or white arrow icon appears in the status bar."

MrsMadderRose · 09/01/2022 00:50

Agree his dimwitted attempt to cover up and thinking you’d fall for that is extra insulting. What a numpty.

The love of a pet is precious OP. You love them, they love you, no second-guessing or feeling hurt. My two cats helped so much when I was separating from ex - their reliable, honest, straight-up love and affection. Glad you have your doggy with you ❤️

billy1966 · 09/01/2022 00:54

You are definitely NOT drama, just clued in.

The very best of luck.

theNumbersStation · 09/01/2022 00:57

He was on it.

He is at it.

And worse, he lied.

Ruralbliss · 09/01/2022 01:01

I've given up shit blokes for a dog (& an online qualification) @Lolabray

I'm triply shocked and judgey about the absolute nerve of this cheating liar on your behalf.

  1. Clearly on POF (very shitty and counts as cheating in my book)
  2. whilst simultaneously conversing with you (doubly shitty)
  3. Realises his error and your seeing the evidence so gaslights you by a blatant lie 'errr no definitely wasn't I was errr on Twitter' (triply shitty for gaslighting and lying and trying to cover his cheaty arse)
  4. Having the brass neck to try to fraudulently forge a 'legit' Twitter feed referencing POF but the obvious search is highlighted as bold (so that's quadruple shiftiness in one brief flurry of exchanges)

Ah well better to realise he's low life bellend scum now than later.

I'm sorry for your heartache. He'll soon be ancient history and you won't recall his name.

Dogs and girlfriends are the way forward.

DoTheyKnowItsLemonJuice · 09/01/2022 01:06

He’s a lying knob. You’ll be so much better off without someone who does this to you. And like a pp said, it’s pretty insulting that he thought he could so easily fool you.

But of course it still hurts to realize that the person you care about isn’t who you thought they were, and doesn’t respect you the way they should. Be kind to yourself Flowers

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 09/01/2022 01:20

Totally understand why you would post about it on here - you're checking for clarification before you go all gangbusters on his arse.

I wouldn't have known about the app thingies without reading it on here (I try really hard not to load apps for websites wherever possible!) so it's good info for other people in similar situations too!

I'm sorry that it does mean he was on POF though - time to throw him back as he's clearly out of his depth and you're far too good for him. Thanks

grapewine · 09/01/2022 01:24

He's been on there and shockingly bad at covering tracks. How stupid.

Lolabray · 09/01/2022 01:36

JoBrodie Thanks for this x
