Please can you give me your opinions.

I screenshotted my partner a funny picture of him on a day out where he was in some gardens waving and sent it over to him with giggles on the photo remembering the day.

A minute later he sent me a screenshot back but I noticed at the top of the page there was this written above the picture as if to say go back to the previous page

Just agreeing with everybody else...he definitely looked at your message whilst browsing POF. That's the only way you would get the

@Soontobe60

He’s definitely looked at the site, but it doesn’t mean he’s joined.
He’d have to have been on the app for it to say that, if he was on the website it would have the browser name. Bit odd to download a dating app if you’ve not got an account on it.

@Soontobe60

He'd have to be in the app I think.

Too invested in this I've just done a test. If I go to my message notifications and open one while I'm in my browser on a website I get

mathanxiety · 08/01/2022 23:27

You caught him red handed. That's why he spoke to you in such a loud voice.

youvegottenminuteslynn · 08/01/2022 23:29

[quote SmellyOldOwls]Yeah he was on plenty of fish. Doesn't matter if it was on his Twitter feed, it still would have said

Theworldisquiethere · 08/01/2022 23:30

And I don’t know much about Twitter but since ‘plenty of fish’ is in bold on both of those tweets I’m assuming they’ve come up because he’s searched ‘plenty of fish’, not just by chance.

youvegottenminuteslynn · 08/01/2022 23:30

@Goldwhisper

You can see the words are highlighted where he’s searched for plenty of fish on Twitter in the second shot to cover his back. Plus even clicking that page he says would just take you to plenty of fishes Twitter page, it’s not even an ad.
Also this. He's shit at covering his tracks!

Also means he was on it while messaging you. As in literally at the same time. Arsehole.

Mamatomyboys · 08/01/2022 23:31

Also, it's weird for Twitter to suggest it anyway as I'm sure suggestions are based on search history on phone etc .. :(

OmgIThinkILikeYou · 08/01/2022 23:31

Is the time right? The only other reason I could think is he has screen shot someone else's screen shot.

Mamatomyboys · 08/01/2022 23:32

Oh just read that he did search it himself on Twitter! Sorry Sad

anilluminatednewyearforme · 08/01/2022 23:33

100% he was on POF.

He was in the app, a message came through which he opened and then screenshotted. What a prat he is.

Throw this one back, OP! I'm sorry.

Theworldisquiethere · 08/01/2022 23:33

@OmgIThinkILikeYou

But then surely he would have just said that instead of making excuses?
LawnFever · 08/01/2022 23:33

Do you know how advertising works on social media? One search of an item or website will result in endless ads on your Twitter, Facebook, and email pages.

So to be fair, if you’ve never searched POF then you’d never get their adverts on other sites, which is another reason why him even saying it was on his Twitter feed is a bit suspect.

TooMuchSugar22 · 08/01/2022 23:33

I think I'd of just replied a laughing face or whatever
Not made it known what I'd seen then searched him before he got chance to delete account.
Good old hindsight though.

mamajemma · 08/01/2022 23:34

So I've just clicked on a news notification and at the top it had the exact writing as your picture but it said Mumsnet talk with an arrow 😭

It's what app they have just left

Sorry babe

Bluebluemoon · 08/01/2022 23:34

What a moron!

Quite funny really, if it wasn't so horrid for you OP. Yes he's obvs been on it. I've had similar happen to me (discovering online dating shit) I know how it feels.

WonderfulYou · 08/01/2022 23:35

He's saying to search as he's deleted it..

I agree.

Don’t waste your time trying to find him on there as he’d have deleted it and then will use it against you and make out like you’re the crazy one.

mamajemma · 08/01/2022 23:36

And to get the screenshot of "what he clicked on" he has literally typed plenty of fish in the Twitter search bar because the words you search come up bold

Chimley · 08/01/2022 23:36

Yeah your Spidey senses are spot on OP. Sorry.

Redruby2020 · 08/01/2022 23:37

@Lolabray

This is what he says he clicked on
Yeah so still, he was reading about it at the very least.

The words plenty of fish are in bold so he manually searched for it in order to pretend it came up accidentally, in his second screenshot to OP.
sarah13xx · 08/01/2022 23:38

If it was a tab that was open I would say it could just have been a pop up ad for plenty of fish and he hasn’t even seen it but by the looks of that message that was an open app or website 🤔 Could you try and get a hold of his phone or iPad to see the history and hopefully put your mind to rest? Totally not encouraged but sometimes the only way if they’re being vague or acting clueless like that

GaolBhoAlba · 08/01/2022 23:38

His response tells you everything; saying it was somehow random, telling you to search him on it - right on to the defensive. The response of someone caught, basically (if it was innocent he'd be laughing and giving a simple explanation; but you know that). Sorry - its a horrible thing to happen.

Shallwegoforawalk · 08/01/2022 23:39

@Lolabray you've made a mistake, @Thedogscollar wasn't having a go at you, they quoted @YesIHaveAntOrDec and were telling them their first reply was being an arsehole. Can you see the quoted post on their reply?

TheHamburgler · 08/01/2022 23:40

The words plenty of fish are in bold so he manually searched for it in order to pretend it came up accidentally, in his second screenshot to OP.
If his story is true (and I’m faaar from convinces) I would assume he searched for ‘plenty of fish’ after being confronted, so as to find the ad again.
