Please can you give me your opinions.

I screenshotted my partner a funny picture of him on a day out where he was in some gardens waving and sent it over to him with giggles on the photo remembering the day.

A minute later he sent me a screenshot back but I noticed at the top of the page there was this written above the picture as if to say go back to the previous page

The only explanation I can think of would be if he’d found someone else’s screenshot as a Google result/Twitter post and shared that. But if it’s definitely a screenshot from his phone, then yeah, doesn’t look good.

Justgettingbye · 08/01/2022 23:03

I would say it would only come up if he's been on it.

Had the same myself

Polkadotties · 08/01/2022 23:06

He’s been on it

Soontobe60 · 08/01/2022 23:07

I can’t picture what it is you’re describing. Maybe post a photo of the screenshot?

Lolabray · 08/01/2022 23:07

@ YesIHaveAntOrDec thanks for your really unhelpful response :)

He is lying.

What do your instincts say? Trust them.

Oh yeah, he was 100% on POF. I'm sorry OP

TracyMosby · 08/01/2022 23:10

Well, you dont trust him so not sure what options you have at this stage anyway.

Snorkmaidenn · 08/01/2022 23:10

I don't think Twitter advertises pof

LawnFever · 08/01/2022 23:11

Sounds instantly bull shitty to me, if it was an advert on Twitter the webpage would still be Twitter, it wouldn’t show up in the way he’s claiming.

Polkadotties · 08/01/2022 23:11

That happens when you leave an app because you’ve had a notification e.g. for a text on WhatsApp, you got to WhatsApp through the notification and it’s a quick way of going back to the original app

TheHamburgler · 08/01/2022 23:12

Can you post a relevant part of the screenshot? I don’t think I’ve seen a back arrow to a prior website, like the one you describe, previously.

TheHamburgler · 08/01/2022 23:12

X-post

ImInStealthMode · 08/01/2022 23:12

What was the screenshot he sent you of? If I click a link on Mumsnet I get the below in the top corner of my browser (just found one in style and beauty to demonstrate).

Seems like whatever he sent you has come from a link he clicked within POF?

ItsAHardKn0ckLife1 · 08/01/2022 23:13

Yes he was on POF, sorry OP.

EishetChayil · 08/01/2022 23:13

No doubt at all that he's been on it.

And what an absolute idiot to have been caught out like that.

Lolabray · 08/01/2022 23:13

@ Thedogscollar go away you’re being very unhelpful and judgemental

@YesIHaveAntOrDec

can’t be bothered sitting up all night as I’m old and past drama

Yeah, you don’t sound “past drama”

And you don’t sound very pleasant or helpful either so not sure what you’re offering with that response?!

I would also be suspicious op - it’s one of those situations where unless there’s an easy and robust explanation that many encounter or can verify as a “thing”, that it is what it looks like. So hopefully others will be along to explain why it it isn’t what it looks like. FlowersGin

PickAChew · 08/01/2022 23:13

Most of my ads are for things I've looked at. Never seen a POF ad.

Yeah sorry OP but that must be go back to the previous page he was on, that’s not how adverts on websites work.

Sorry, I think he’s lying ☹️
