AIBU to think this outfit is inappropriate?

AIBU in thinking that in this outfit, upstaging the bride is exactly what he wanted to do? The comments on his post are all "Fab outfit", "You look amazing", "I bet the bride wouldn't have minded being upstaged by you" etc etc. I normally like GP but this is just so me, me, me and selfish.

Who goes to a wedding in dungarees and a hoodie? Am I just being a grump? It wouldn't be completely unheard of

I don’t think dungarees are appropriate wedding attire for anyone over the age of 2 tbh.

I’d assume if you knew him well enough to invite him to your wedding you’d not expect him to rock up in a tie! I guess it’s hard to say without knowing the bride/groom/feeling of the wedding etc.

I’m sure the bride knows what he’s like!

I assume he brands he didn't feel it would be appropriate to arrive in a flamboyant dress, which he might normally wear. So yes, quite low-key for him really! And maybe it's an informal wedding. He looks great.

He’s known for his extravagant outfits, if he’s well known enough by the couple to be at their wedding it’s hardly going to be a surprise that he’s wearing something unusual.

It’s definitely an attention seeking outfit. I don’t know who he is but from the photo he looks like he probably is desperate for attention generally so whoever invited him to their wedding would probably guess he’d act like a prat but didn’t care

Whilst I wouldn't class it as wedding attire, I am fairly certain that nobody would expect him to rock up in anything remotely like normal wedding attire and therefore not be in the slightest bit bothered by it

Grayson Perry often looks much worse than that. The outfit and attitude look cheerful and fun.

I guess the people whose wedding it was know him and therefore know what sort of thing he's likely to turn up in. It's not like he was going to turn up in a plain suit and tie combo.

If I invited Grayson Perry to anything I'd expect him to dress colourfully and a bit outrageously. It's what he does.🤷‍♀️

Presumably whoever invited him would fully anticipate some sort of attention seeking stunt. He always dresses like a strange child so he's no different to usual.

I think that if you invite Grayson Perry to your wedding you must know him well enough to guess that his outfit will be rather bright.

Looks like he's on the set of some new cbeebies show, rather than a wedding, but it's not like this outfit is unusual for him. I'm sure the bride and groom were well aware of what he'd turn up in.

He's well covered up and looks festive. I would not have an issue with him showing up at my wedding like this.
