I am furious. Earlier on DD (2) was messing about with the remote controls (we have 3, one for tv, DVD, sky remote) anyway, he managed to turn on the dvd player and on came a bloody blue movie, I was horrified. OK I know DH watches it now and again (never when I or the kids are around thats for sure) and it doesn't really bother me BUT to leave it carelessly in the player is downright stupid. He could have at least hidden it. He gets this DVDs from his pervo mates at work.

Can you imagine if my parents or his parents were there when this happened or worse still a visitor? Could have been a health visitor checking the little one.

I am currently not speaking to him for this and threw his dvd in the bin (cracked it in half first and its not even his) ha ha.

AIBU?

Actually elizabetth, neither I nor my DP watch porn, it just doesn't it for us, so ask away.

iesha · 14/11/2007 20:52

Elizabeth, that was wel, out of order

LuckySalem · 14/11/2007 20:52

Elizabeth - I don't see the personal attack so can't agree or disagree with you.
All I'm asking is whether you are agreeing with the OP just because it is porn and I'd like to ask TMMJ the same question.

homerton · 14/11/2007 20:52

"Criminal damage"!!What a fuss over breaking a dvd, it's just a minor and satisfying act of temper. I don't get why that is such a biggie to people. I must live in a house of hot heads.

LuckySalem · 14/11/2007 20:53

Also for the last time - PORN isn't degrading and the women aren't abused.
THEY LOVE IT AND THEY'RE MAKING TOP DOLLAR FOR IT!

ELF1981 · 14/11/2007 20:53

Elizabethh, you posted that you were exposed to porn by your brother finding your dads stash (and I am very sorry that this happened to you) but do you think that if you had seen a two second clip when you were two, it is the same as what you experienced (which seems to be several exposures over years)?

I am not trying to belittle you, I watched a horror film when I was eight while stopping at my grans (late at night, we were supposed to be asleep in the living room, but we put the telly on while she was in bed) and yes it did affect me, but I was eight; and it was a whole film.

DD has been in our bed before asleep when she is poorly, while I have watched CSI on the TV, she once woke up while they were picking up a body part, should I report myself to social services and have her removed from my care? Or should I accept that a small possible glimpse while I reached for the remote control is just an accident that could happen to anybody?

Agree homerton...

VictorianSqualor · 14/11/2007 20:54

Don't be silly Salem, only men like sex, didn't you know
And of course, only men like to have sex on film too, none of them feel degraded, ever.

LuckySalem · 14/11/2007 20:54

TMMJ - I get what you're saying but would you have smashed the DVD of the horror film?

Elizabetth · 14/11/2007 20:54

Did you miss the bit where Victorian Squalor started telling me about my "hang-ups" iesha. She crossed the line into the personal stuff, I guess I followed. Although if porn is such a super-duper thing I'm sure the porn users here won't mind discussing the content of what they watch. As it's harmless and wonderful and all.

LuckySalem · 14/11/2007 20:56

VS - I'll quite happily admit I watch porn, I don't find it disguisting and 9 times out of 10 the women are more fun to watch. Does that make me a perv just cos i'm watching porn films (whether hardcore or not?)

VictorianSqualor · 14/11/2007 20:56

They shouldn't TMMJ, no unappropriate films should be left around true, and the OP has every right to be pissed, I would be too.

LuckySalem · 14/11/2007 20:56

E - Ask me!! Go for it, I'm not embarassed by it and I don't see the problem!! If you want to get personal and start attacking people that's fine but once again I ask.

If it wasn't porn would you have agreed with the OP!?

normabutty · 14/11/2007 20:57

Well Elizabetth you've probably guessed already but I'm rather partial to watching a bit of anal, I like cum shots too, a bit of group action. Would you like the actual titles, or a description perhaps????

VictorianSqualor · 14/11/2007 20:57

Of course not Salem. My last post to you was supposed to be sarcastic.

ELF1981 · 14/11/2007 20:58

I have in the past watched porn with DH.

Does it make me an unfit mother?

Anymore than somebody who enjoys watching horror films is unfit because it sensationalises violence?? Or is it JUST because it is porn?

iesha · 14/11/2007 20:58

No Elizabeth, i didn't miss it, and you do have "hang-up" These are because of a disturbing part of your life but they are "hang-ups" Assuming that VS is into "degradation of vulnerable, abused women" is wrong and pointing that assumption out to other people is out of order

LuckySalem · 14/11/2007 20:58

LOL @ Norma!!

TMMJ - If you read through alot of us have agreed that the OP's DH was a dumbass for leaving the porn where it could be found.

What we're annoyed about is the fact she's happy she smashed someone else's property.

normabutty · 14/11/2007 20:58

TMMJ, her dh MADE A MISTAKE.

VictorianSqualor · 14/11/2007 20:59

TMMJ, I agree it has become about her breaking the DVD, when really we all should have said her DH was bang out of order for leaving it there, of course he was, and I don't think anyone actually disagrees with that.

goingfriggincrazy · 14/11/2007 20:59

*sniggers at norma

LuckySalem · 14/11/2007 20:59

VS - i know, was being sarky too.
