All over Facebook mothers ott reactions to children going to school..
The one that got my goat was....
"I stand and watch you walk away with tears in my eyes, the girl I once knew has gone, you will never be fully mine again"
The child is going into year 2 not sent to a Japanese concentration camp...

I do find it a little strange to be honest!

livefornaps · 05/09/2017 10:06

Baaaaahahaha! You just made a stranger snicker. Gold star for you Star

FuzzyCustard · 05/09/2017 10:06

YANBU. I do wonder about some people...!

formerbabe · 05/09/2017 10:06

Yes some reactions do seem completely ott! I mean you still see them every day, all weekend and they're off school for 14 weeks a year!

areyoubeingserviced · 05/09/2017 10:07

Ha ha

winewolfhowls · 05/09/2017 10:07

😂

imjustanerd · 05/09/2017 10:08

One of the reasons I'm not on Facebook anymore 😀

MrsJayy · 05/09/2017 10:09

Oh dearie thats a tad dramatic and yes she needs to have a word with herself I think facebook makes some people ott on the status , dropped my Ellie at school today isn't going to get the same likes and loves as ^^ pish is it Grin

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 05/09/2017 10:09

I admit I do have a slight sadness on the first day of each new school year, but that poem! Shock Heavens above!

I assume the little girl will be coming home at 3.30 each day? She's not gone off to boarding school abroad at age 6?

Whatislove233 · 05/09/2017 10:09

My partner took them to school and I bolted the door incase they came back Grin

It is absolutely ridiculous.
As a bereaved mother this sort if nonsense irritates me.

You're in the wrong circles. All my friends are popping champagne

MrsJayy · 05/09/2017 10:13

I would be tempted to say something tbh i couldn't help my self.

backOffSunshine · 05/09/2017 10:13

It's hilarious.

MrsJamesAspey · 05/09/2017 10:14

Both of mine don't go back until tomorrow, and I've taken the day off to spend it with them and to stay in bed having a lie in

It's my DDs last year of school so I may take a photo tomorrow and post it on fb but probably won't as I never have done in all our previous years

MycatsaPirate · 05/09/2017 10:14

YANBU. They go to school for 190 days a year out of 365. And they are only there for about 6 hours a day anyway.

God knows how these women would have coped in WWII when they were sending young men off to war at 17 years old.

DD2 is not back until tomorrow. The only thing I'm dreading is getting her out of bed in the morning.

MrsJayy · 05/09/2017 10:14

When my kids were in school there was no facebook for this nonsense

liz70 · 05/09/2017 10:15

Three daughters, three nurseries, two schools, one uni - no tears. I'm a hard woman. Grin

I'm sure it does Flowers. A lot of it is absolutely ridiculous and probably just done to get some attention on social media...I find it rather pathetic to be honest!

PickAChew · 05/09/2017 10:16

I'm just glad to be rid of them. Just dropped my youngest off at secondary school (special) and did have a wee lump in my throat when he was stood in his uniform (took several attempts to get it on him) actually wearing his back pack, but that might have been because we were waiting for a 7:30 bus!

HarrietKettleWasHere · 05/09/2017 10:17

I did have to laugh a bit lots at this one.

He's 16, he's going to the local sixth form Confused
