A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 🥀

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

44% of the voting electorate have voted for them, and it far outstrips the next party. It’s difficult if the system is able to overturn that.

Edited

Sure. And that’s a problem for those who bang on and on about the expression of pure democracy. In the UK those people are generally Labour and LibDem PR obsessives. To them, a party should have influence in proportion to the popular vote. Which is embarrassing if AfD have a near 50% vote. So they have to try to behave as if nearly half the electorate don’t matter and they chuck proportionality out of the window.

That’s why I support FPTP. It tends to avoid populist, extremist nightmares.

Local broadcaster saying turnout was over 75%.

I hope Merkel is watching and horrified.

Jakers that's an astonishing turnout

This is damning. Another whistle blower from the home office. He says only 1 in every 100 are genuine. I suspect its even less than that.

J said he and colleagues had encountered “hundreds” of claims from Pakistani asylum seekers claiming to have the same boyfriend, who had provided letters supporting their claims to be gay men. He said: “He’s provided hundreds upon hundreds of very obviously fake letters of support.”
He said claims from Pakistani men claiming to be gay also featured photographs from the same east London gay venue, Legs 800 Club, which closed permanently last year. “You get these photographs and there would be ten Pakistani guys all standing there topless in the club with their arms around each other taking pictures to try and prove they’re gay.”

It would be hilarious if it wasn't so serious.

NancyThompson · 06/09/2026 21:31

Kicking off in Portsmouth just now.

I can only find this when I Google, but it doesn't really explain what's happening. I don't have X.
Hints that this is something to do with thr RNLI bringing migrants?

Sexual orientation simply can't continue to be a reason for asylum.

What next? Claim asylum for being female? It's at least as dangerous in many countries, and far more difficult to hide.

But of course, the Left are misogynists, so that won't happen...

Yes it is. Danny "Tommo" and his friends are kicking off, it seems.

Kicking off at what?

It’s on the Telegraph now, I think it’s due to boats arriving

Nuthatch26 · 06/09/2026 22:00

Ah so they're now coming via a new route on their mega dinghies. Excellent news for the residents of Portsmouth. I'm sure they're thrilled.

Reports that over 500 have crossed today. Fucking joke.

Boats arriving in Portsmouth, that isn’t where they usually arrive is it?

NancyThompson · 06/09/2026 22:02

Yes mega dinghy arrival at Portsmouth, buses and tents waiting for the arrivals, protestors are attempting to block this.

Yes from Baie de la Seine in Normandy rather than the usual Calais launching spot. I've also heard that there are other points arriving at various other points - I've heard Brighton, Southampton and Poole mentioned but I'm not 100% certain there.

Normandy? That’s an overnight ferry trip isn’t it? That is a long way to go in a dinghy. I fear we’ll be hearing about deaths.

Thank you. I've just put GB News on to see if they're covering it. Just seen the videos.

GBN also saying 600 have crossed, with hundreds more still en route this evening. Perhaps they're popping up at different ports around the south coast if what you've heard is correct.

Sounds problematic for AB and Labour.

We all know that they'll focus on the protesters rather than the hundreds of undocumented men illegally entering the country.

For the Portsmouth dinghy HM Coastguard sent rescue teams, lifeboats. a coastguard helicopter and a coastguard aeroplane. The cost must be eye watering.

They will probably try. Their major problem is policy is causing boats to come from further away, and carrying more people.

I'll think of this post tomorrow when I get up at 5.30am to go to work and pay my taxes.
