Why won’t (some) Vinted buyers press the “everything is ok” button?!

I have spent the last few weeks selling a huge amount of things on Vinted, and at least half the buyers have not bothered confirming everything is ok. I know Vinted automatically assumes it is ok after 2 days then the funds are released, but surely it’s just good manners not to make the seller wait. Especially if you have asked them to post it quickly if you need an item for World Book Day! I always send within max 48 hours. If I am bothering to sell lots of things for £1 or £2 each then it’s reasonable to assume I want/need that money asap. Interested to hear what others think.

I was interested in the reviews - noting people worried they'd get bad reviews for not pressing 'Everything OK'. Had a look at mine, and I have no bad reviews - 5.0 stars. So.... it doesn't seem to affect that at all.

I have only recently started buying on vinted and I do try and press Everything Ok asap. However I get the notification during my work day and may not be going home that evening. I am not going to say everything is ok without checking.

Well that goes without saying but some buyers leave it past 48hrs and I think that’s unreasonable

Oh God, if I haven't had chance to go into the app and press the button at the time I've opened the packet and checked the item, there's no way my perimenopausal brain will remember in time to do it at another point. 48 hours is a very short time for me, I'm super busy.

PowerOfInquiry · 22/06/2026 17:16

I thought sellers on Vinted did this when they weren’t particularly happy for some reason, but didn’t want to go to the extent of leaving a negative review.

Like for the unwashed item that I received this week.

I picked up a parcel yesterday morning and haven’t even opened it yet (it’s a heavy item and it’s too hot to try it on!). Only my second Vinted purchase so I’ll try harder with the ok button from here on.

Oh I’m sorry for your little perimenopausal brain. Maybe don’t buy on Vinted then? Sellers go to effort to sell and send things for you but you can’t be bothered to mark it as a received. It’s poor. Everyone is me me me these days!

Good grief, what a ridiculously over the top, angry reaction.

What exactly is your problem?

If I buy something and forget to say it's ok, they get their money anyway. It's two days. Not two weeks. And it's within the rules of the platform.

Not sure who you think you are, you're just selling a bit of unwanted second hand stuff online. No-one's doing you wrong by following the rules of the platform.

It's your post that's coming across as 'me, me, me' because you're expecting buyers to jump when you say jump, and then getting angry and nasty when people have to navigate round other priorities.

If people don't follow the rules of the platform, then you have room to complain, Otherwise, it's just you making up silly rules and expectations of your own, and then imposing them on others without any agreement.

And just so you're aware, I also sometimes sell stuff on Vinted, and never have I got pissy about someone not hitting the button. People have lives and I'm not a two year old. I can wait for stuff like an adult.

You’re unhinged.
Buyers have 48 hours to report an issue, if they don’t then Vinted completes the sale. It’s their terms and conditions and it’s not unreasonable, just as a seller has many days to post an item.

Holli222 · 22/06/2026 18:29

The last buyer waited untill 10 minutes before the 48 hours were up before pressing everything was alright . I have been waiting with no money to live on for these 2 days.. do people think everyone selling on vinted are rich people that don't need the money.

Of course I am 🤣

Just because that’s the limit, doesn’t mean you should just leave it to expire on its own. And to be clear, I think everyone should go to the effort to mark it before the 48hrs. I full well know life can get in the way. People need to be a bit more considerate. This isn’t Amazon prime!!!!

bye Felicia!

Just because I’m stating an opinion that you don’t agree with doesn’t make me unhinged, angry or over the top.

There are a lot of people out there using the platform to make money because they’re struggling. That’s the point I’m trying to make. It’s not just unwanted tat that a rich person is selling for extra pocket money.

PowerOfInquiry · 22/06/2026 18:52

I don’t think buyers have a moral obligation to mark the item as received, any more than sellers have one to send the item as soon as possible.

I prefer eBay.

Most people do try, but it’s one of 2,368 things they need to do in any given day, so they won’t always do it perfectly. Luckily, Vinted have thought of that and make sure you get your money no later than 48 hours later regardless.

Just because I’m stating an opinion that you don’t agree with doesn’t make me unhinged, angry or over the top.

Absolutely, disagreeing with someone’s opinion does not, in and of itself, mean that you are unhinged, angry, or over the top. But that’s not just what was going on in your post, was it? It wasn’t the disagreement that betrayed your anger. It was phrases like ‘your little perimenopausal brain’, the ‘maybe don’t sell on Vinted then’ to somebody who’s operating within the rules. And the ‘it’s all me, me, me’ comment.

These were obnoxiously rude. It was unnecessary to make your point so aggressively. They were angry comments.

Right, well say that then, instead of being aggressive and rude. Just make your point articulately and people are far more likely to understand your point of view.

You are no worse off than before you sold the item.
You can’t talk about Vinted like it’s a business and you’re using it to actively make money and then expect it to be like a charity where buyers should feel bad for sellers.
No offence but frankly I don’t care about a sellers financial situation. For every one desperate for the money there will be others that aren’t, and the same for buyers and it’s all irrelevant.
The terms you are signing up to when selling on Vinted is that funds will be held for 48hrs to allow time for a buyer to raise a dispute. They can press a button to cut this short but they don’t have to.
It’s just not an agreement they have made with you and frankly most people don’t care and can’t be arsed because, again, they don’t have to.

Since I nearly collapsed sending this parcel the same day through a 14 year illness I will wait till the last minute to post in future if they can't be bothered to press a button on their phone why should I nearly end up in hospital making sure people get their parcel quick

I don’t think you’re understanding the concept of a platform for people to sell their old shit.
No one is expecting you to put yourself in hospital to send a parcel, you’re being disingenuous.
If you don’t agree to the rules of the platform then don’t sell on it. You can’t argue people are in the wrong with its totally acceptable behaviour based on the Vinted terms.

I have only recently bought a couple of things on vinted, didn’t realise this was a thing. Sorry

Wildgoat · 22/06/2026 22:09

I do think sellers should make an effort to post in a timely manner and not wait till the last day and buyers should mark as received if it’s as described and not in need of a wash or something when they are able . No one needs to , obviously, but it’s a basic kindness from both sides.

sellers aren’t doing people a favour by selling, they are doing it to make money, and yes sometimes some will need the money. If the item is good and clean then I think it’s good to mark as received.

if I’ve time to browse vinted to buy stuff, I’ve time to mark it as received. As I work from home it’s usually within ten mins of receiving, I take it out I check it over, I confirm receipt. I don’t get the big deal in not doing so and all the can’t be arsed stuff, it’s a two second job.

i can see some people really don’t wish to though and see it as a major issue, and that’s fine too, the seller just has to wait 2 days, but for me, for the few seconds of doing it, my choice is not to make them wait, they should get their money,
