Why won’t (some) Vinted buyers press the “everything is ok” button?!

I have spent the last few weeks selling a huge amount of things on Vinted, and at least half the buyers have not bothered confirming everything is ok. I know Vinted automatically assumes it is ok after 2 days then the funds are released, but surely it’s just good manners not to make the seller wait. Especially if you have asked them to post it quickly if you need an item for World Book Day! I always send within max 48 hours. If I am bothering to sell lots of things for £1 or £2 each then it’s reasonable to assume I want/need that money asap. Interested to hear what others think.

Thanks again for all the replies, covering both “sides!” It’s interesting to see how opinions vary on whether it’s rude or not to leave sellers waiting an extra 2 days for their money.

Just to confirm - this is a bug-bear or pet-hate and not something I’ve been frothing about 😁. I have never pestered buyers about it, nor pestered sellers to dispatch items quickly. I still rather like Vinted and will continue to use it!

I’ve just found this thread and I’m not rude or lazy and am desperate to click all is ok but there’s no purchase showing. There’s nothing in my orders and no notification or message. I’ve bought from vinted before and never had this problem. The seller had other items listed and I’ve trawled through the category searching for something I recognise so that I can contact her but can’t find them. Can anyone help please?

ArcticBells · 06/05/2026 06:49

I’ve sorted it by deleting the App and reinstalling 😅

SorryWeAreClosed · 06/05/2026 08:01

I didn't know this is what released the money.

I think I always have pressed the button but one of the last things I bought had a small hole in so I give myself time to check things properly now.
Sometimes things arrive when I'm snowed under and sometimes the fabric conditioner or damp charity shop smell is so strong that they go on the line or in the wash straight away.

Posters on this thread who say they never leave reviews - do you read a seller's reviews before you buy?

No. Never.
I go from how much care was taken on the listing, photos etc.

ArcticBells · 06/05/2026 08:37

@SorryWeAreClosed I think I’m too quick/diligent as one time previously I clicked to say all was ok and then when I put the jumper on to wear it, I found about a dozen moth holes in it! I didn’t complain as took it as my fault for not checking

henlake7 · 06/05/2026 09:00

Im usually really good at being prompt with this. In fact I recently okayed a bunch of items without even opening them! (I saved them up for my birthday....great decision, everything was brilliant!).

Only time I havent was with one item where the 'everything is ok' button didnt appear. I had no way of acknowledging delivery and as all my other purchases were fine I couldnt be bothered faffing about with the app. I figured they will get the money when the times up anyways!

whistleinthewind · 06/05/2026 10:28

But not everyone operates in the same way. I have parcels delivered through the week, and sometimes if it’s a busy time with work and kids, my parcels can sit for a couple of days. I always try to get to it but if it arrives when I’m out and out in the evening and then at work the next day, it could genuinely be 3 days before I open it. I leave myself no option to return or complain and that’s on me, but not everyone opens things instantly

shouldicontactthisperson · 07/05/2026 17:06

That’s fair enough - maybe it’s because I get too excited at parcels arriving that I rip them open immediately!

A lot of the things I buy are kids clothes & toys are clearly being sold by mums of young children - I sometimes wonder if some of them as desperate for the money so try to ensure not to delay their funds. I sold on eBay for years so perhaps my judgement is clouded by the instant payment that I used to get before dispatching the item, whereas now with Vinted it could be a good 7+ days before I see the money.

i haven’t read the other responses but I have a baby and a 3 year old and sometimes I am just too busy or exhausted to open packages for a few days or just don’t have any time when I’m not dealing with one of the children or sleeping. We also have a parcel box and when things get delivered to home I sometimes don’t get around to checking the parcel box for days. If I have opened the parcel I also click recieved as I can do that while feeding the baby.

Holli222 · 22/06/2026 03:34

I have recently started selling on vinted and have sold a lot in the last 2 weeks i send items anything from 2 - 20 hours after they are sold knowing people have received them on a saturday morning when they have all weekend to say everything is ok is just bad manners

Crunchymum · 22/06/2026 06:15

I've already posted on this thread saying the same thing but it's a Vinted issue IMO.

No I am not going to tap "everything is okay" within 90 seconds of collecting my package as I've not even bloody opened it yet.

You get the reminder so quickly from Vinted, it's silly.

That said I never make the seller wait the 48h but usually it's a little while between me collecting / receiving package and opening it.

Sometimes my husband picks up the parcel because I'm on a 12.5hr shift and then i come home and have my dinner and deal with my son and it's basically time for bed so I can get up and do the same thing the next day. Sometimes I honestly don't have the energy to remember to open and check my parcel. It's not personal.

This is what scammers rely on
Send either shoddy goods or nothing but paper in the parcel
Once the payment has gone through its too late

TheDogsMother · 22/06/2026 07:58

Well I think in need to up my game as I have never clicked on the Everything is ok ! I’ve never been aware of anyone using it on things I have sold either. I also never leave reviews on there or eBay.

Funds are released when you press it, otherwise the seller has to wait, which is a little unfair.

I recently had a buyer buy an item and then they asked me to post it asap as they “needed it by next Monday as they were going away.” I did explain to them that they needed to tell me this before committing to buying. Nevertheless my lovely husband posted it that day at lunch time. When they received it… radio silence… didn’t click on everything was ok… didn’t leave feedback either.

This kind of behaviour on Vinted really irks me!!!

roses2 · 22/06/2026 08:55

I'm a petty person and if a buyer doesn't press ok then I mention this in the review I leave them.

marcyhermit · 22/06/2026 09:27

I don't seem to have this button any more? Anyone else had that?

JMSA · 22/06/2026 09:30

YANBU. I always click ‘everything is ok’ on the delivery day, so that the seller’s money is released as soon as possible.

That would go completely over my head. I've never read any reviews people have left me. What is there to say? You pay, your item arrives.

What happens if you notice someone has a comment about not saying everything is fine straight away? Are you able to cancel the transaction?

ADogRocketShip · 22/06/2026 09:51

I never do - as the platform auto says its OK after a day or so anyway. I kind of assumed people only interact with that if unhappy tbh!

Not sure how it impacts my reviews. I buy only (don't sell) and never had someone refuse me as a buyer and have no idea what my reviews look like, nor do I care! I had no idea it might impact money being released, so if thats the case then I have now been informed and will press 'OK' from now on!

Yes the seller has to wait 2 days, I don’t sell on there, but I’m aware some do as they need the money, so I always accept immediately

This.

It auto-completes in 2 days. Can you really not wait that long OP?

Jo7890123 · 22/06/2026 10:33

I sell on vinted too, and see it as a sort of exciting bonus if someone hits ths accept button :-D. If it was a 14 day wait or something, I could see that might be frustrating, but surely waiting 2 days isn't that big of a deal!?

I guess people need to check their privalage, for some yes it may well be if they need the money,
