Why won’t (some) Vinted buyers press the “everything is ok” button?!

I have spent the last few weeks selling a huge amount of things on Vinted, and at least half the buyers have not bothered confirming everything is ok. I know Vinted automatically assumes it is ok after 2 days then the funds are released, but surely it’s just good manners not to make the seller wait. Especially if you have asked them to post it quickly if you need an item for World Book Day! I always send within max 48 hours. If I am bothering to sell lots of things for £1 or £2 each then it’s reasonable to assume I want/need that money asap. Interested to hear what others think.

So much anger on this thread when it sounds like most buyers have absolutely no idea that it makes a difference to anything and probably aren't consciously choosing to not press it out of spite. 🤷‍♀️

It sounds like vinted are at fault TBH for not communicating to buyers what clicking the button does. With other online shops, you do not have to do this so from a buyer's perspective, why would they assume that there is anything more they need to do after sending payment?

Yes, this!!

Alpacajigsaw · 13/03/2026 13:33

Meh, I don’t even notice whether people click it or not tbh. I’ll get the money when I get it.

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 13/03/2026 13:34

People don't do it because it automatically happens after two days without needing any input from the buyer. A lot of people are either inherently lazy or prioritise what is important to them.

morningmists · 13/03/2026 13:35

I sometimes have a full day of work then an evening meeting then another full day of work

Some people just have busy lives!

It's really not a big deal to have to wait for 2 days for £1.50.

How about £150? That’s the position I find myself waiting in right now. The buyer is also a seller so knows full well that she’s delaying my payment. Item was sent the day after purchase in perfect condition, she got herself a good deal after haggling on price.

I assume she’s just an ignorant cunt.

No idea, I wasn't even aware I get reviews. I only use the site occasionally, and so I interact with it the same way I do other online shops - I log in, look for the thing I want, buy it if it is there and I like the price, then after a while it turns up and as long as it is the thing I ordered and in approximately the condition I expected I don't think anything more about it. I don't want a parasocial relationship thrown in!

Do you all leave feedback for every item you buy on Amazon too?

Edited

This.
I didn't know this button existed until today.

But its not guaranteed you would have sold the item no? Or that you would sell it for £150?

So an extra 2 days, how does that become an issue?

And I think other sellers have posted here to say it doesnt bother them so theres no need to assume it should bother you

I think this is why I wouldnt use vinted, never have so far, but the attitude like this would be really off putting

Thepinkdiaries · 13/03/2026 14:54

I find Vinted really, really odd.

I can sell something a bit shit for £1, nothing bad but let’s say a used book, and get absolutely gushing feedback.

Then I can sell something really good and sought after, like something brand new that’s an absolute bargain, and the buyer doesn’t bother pressing the ok button or leaving any feedback.

likelysuspect · 13/03/2026 14:55

Ive only read about the site on here and all I ever hear is sellers complaining about stuff like this. I would never buy from it for that reason, too many rules and regulations about pick ups and clicking this and that.

There was a thread recently about someone chasing the buyer to go and pick up the parcel!! You can fuck right off with that one.

And now you’ve got to spend 2 days worrying that the buyer is going to suddenly decide that they received the wrong item or claim it was damaged on arrival …

Weird isn't it. Think eBay is better for selling decent things, might take a little longer but it's a much less fraught atmosphere. Payment is not reliant on the cooperation (or otherwise) of cunty buyers, so that's a bonus. 😄

Elektra1 · 13/03/2026 15:53

I rarely press that button because the Evri delivery person “delivers” my packages to anywhere except my address and it often takes me up to a week to locate them. My house is a normal semi on a normal road with no access issues. I think this problem is widespread.

You agreed to the Vinted terms. Thats really all there is to it.
If that person hadn’t bought it you wouldn’t have the money either.

I get hounded constantly by email anytime I make a purchase on a website, review your service, how was your experience, review the product? I don’t do it because it’s not up there on my priority list.
People have more going on in their lives than logging on to Vinted to do some unnecessary admin when the seller is still going to review their money. Honestly nasty comments like yours make me not want to do it purposely next time, the entitlement is next level.

But not that busy that they didn’t have time to go on Vinted and navigate their ridiculous sizing.
Even if you know exactly what you want half the stuff you look at is the wrong size. It’s not exactly a quick process to buy anything in the first place, yet people clearly find time because they want to.

LMAO, speaks volumes about your mindset.

Crunchymum · 13/03/2026 19:35

As a buyer I find Vinted messaging me to confirm "everything is okay" the second I collect or receive my parcel ludicrous.

I don't tear my parcels open in the street / on my doorstep and therefore I ignore the immediate reminder. I often don't open the package for a while as I'm working or with the kids. I never make the seller wait 48h though.

That actually makes perfect sense though if you look at a lot of the mindsets of people on this thread and how they tend to use vinted.

Someone who goes out of their way to buy a £1 book and pay postage for it on vinted is invested enough in the system to want to engage fully with it. If they were looking for convenience, they would have bought the book for £3 on amazon or picked up whatever item is at their local charity shop.

Whereas the person buying the brand new item is probably treating the entire transaction as an online store such as amazon and it doesn't occur to them to leave feedback etc. You just happened to be the cheapest place to buy.

if that’s what you would think of me as a customer, I’d definitely wait to do it. I rarely open a parcel the day it arrives, and if I do, I’m going to open it, see what it is and put it aside to look at later. I sell on various sites, where you only get one weekly or every 2 week payment so 48 hours is extremely quick anyway. Kids, work, general life take priority.

TheMatildaEffect · 13/03/2026 23:36

I've sold one item and got a lovely review and quick payment. Must've been beginner's luck!

I've bought two myself and done the same but had nothing from the sellers.

No automatic feedback either, so my account still only has 1 review on it. I imagine that's putting people off buying anything else from me. All I've had is ridiculously low offers on nwt items.

And now I've just been scammed and received a pack of papers in a postage bag instead of the item I bought.. I'm now having to wait days while vinted look into it.

When I do get my money back, I'm deleting my account.

Midsommermadness · 13/03/2026 23:57

Golas · 12/03/2026 20:03

Sometimes it takes me a couple of days to even open the parcel, I'm just collecting it and putting it aside and rushing on to the next thing on ny schedule.

But in the meantime the seller isn’t getting paid ! So selfish !

Pyjamatimenow · 14/03/2026 00:02

The reason I don’t click sometimes is if the item was a bit crap or soiled in some way but I don’t want to send back for whatever reason. Like last month I bought a pair of snow boots. They had a fair bit of mud on them when they arrived that could have been wiped off by the seller

It’s not about feedback. The sooner you press Everything is ok, the sooner the seller gets the money.

BurrosTail · 14/03/2026 00:49

Surely anyone who sells stuff on vinted understands the terms and conditions they are signing up for? That payments can take quite a few days to come through, it’s always been like that. If it arrives earlier then cool.

It’s also a relatively new feature, I’ve been on there for years and only been asked that question for about half a year maybe. I don’t specifically bother signing in just for that, don’t bother wasting phone space for the app and only press the button if I happen to be there for some other item.

As a seller, I also don’t bother shipping until the last day or two usually because that’s what people pay for, a six day delivery, and I’m not going to leave my kids unattended at home so I can pop into the drop off point after 10-hour work day. My husband usually does it for me when he gets a chance.

Those who need fast deliveries then amazon prime and next day deliveries for retailers are available, I use them myself because I don’t see why I should call someone a cunt just because a person doesn’t ship it within a day or two when I paid for postage within six days.
