Why won’t (some) Vinted buyers press the “everything is ok” button?!

I have spent the last few weeks selling a huge amount of things on Vinted, and at least half the buyers have not bothered confirming everything is ok. I know Vinted automatically assumes it is ok after 2 days then the funds are released, but surely it’s just good manners not to make the seller wait. Especially if you have asked them to post it quickly if you need an item for World Book Day! I always send within max 48 hours. If I am bothering to sell lots of things for £1 or £2 each then it’s reasonable to assume I want/need that money asap. Interested to hear what others think.

It's just lack of manners. Often you can see that people buy and sell, they have lots of reviews, they know you don't get your funds until they ok it or 48 hours is up. If there's an issue, let me know and I'll sort it. If not, press the button and let me get my money!!

I've sold quite a lot of stuff over the last few months, and more often than not people don't press the ok button. Even though they are happy to message me asking for it to be sent 5 minutes after they bought it, someone recently asked me to post the next day, but sent me a single '?' at lunchtime the next day.

I'm not expecting people to do it within minutes of delivery, clearly people have a life. But if you've ordered something, chances are you'll open the package at some point over the next 24 hours after it's been delivered 🤷🏼‍♀️

Alwayswonderedwhy · 12/03/2026 20:34

People are busy doing more important things and don't think about it.

I also don't get people that message asking to let the know when I've sent something, Vinted will literally let them know when it's on its way once it's posted. I don't expect them to leave feedback or mark item as received either. It makes no difference to me, I still get the money.

I'm sure some people think they're dealing with shops rather than the general public.

PeonyPatch · 12/03/2026 20:36

Personally, i feel it’s a flaw with the system and Vinted should release the funds as soon as the item is marked as delivered. If the buyer reports an issue, then Vinted can debit your account and place the funds on hold until the dispute is resolved.

FoxRedPuppy · 12/03/2026 20:36

I’ve had stuff posted through letterbox at a weekend when I’m away. Or I dont have chance to open the parcel straight away.

I do normally do it asap. But sometimes stuff gets in way. And I won’t click it until I’ve opened the package and checked it over.

Donewiththisshit · 12/03/2026 20:43

I rarely do this. I had no idea it made me a cunt or rude. I pick up the parcel, might be a while before I open it. I’m not constantly on my phone or indeed the app so finding my phone to then open the app to say I’ve got it is a hassle when I’ve got a million things going on. I had no idea it delayed payment though, I literally didn’t know what the point of it was.

Loveacadburyscreamegg · 12/03/2026 20:46

ThankFuckTheSunIsHere · 12/03/2026 20:25

maybe they’re just busy.

I don’t care - it’s still rude IMO.

Franpie · 12/03/2026 20:46

I never used to click that button and always wondered why sellers would sometimes message me to ask me to. I thought the sellers received my money the moment I pressed “buy”.

Up until 2 months ago when I sold a load of outgrown ski gear and realised that sellers don’t receive the money until after the buyer has received the goods and clicked the everything ok button.

I felt very bad for never doing it before. But if you’ve never sold on Vinted, you wouldn’t know.

Ohyeahitsme · 12/03/2026 20:47

For most people it's because they don't realise it releases the payment.

Personally, I don't care if they do or don't press it.

Marble10 · 12/03/2026 20:52

Most of the time I do. However the last couple of times the sellers have genuinely posted on the 7th day so they are clearly in no rush for their money 😆

TheLemonLemur · 12/03/2026 20:53

I normally do asap but if i have shopping to take in and forget to take it in from car obviously might be next day. If I'm badgered I won't click it for the 2 days

JulieJo · 12/03/2026 21:00

Most of the time I click "all ok". However, if a seller hasn't posted quickly ie.over 4 days, I don't rush to leave feedback.

Pinkmoonshine · 12/03/2026 20:00

People are very busy. Get in from work, there’s the parcel, might open it or not and then a lot of home things to do, bed and back to work.. I think it is just another thing to do in this endless task based life and if people don’t it then it doesn’t have any long term consequences.

Ive never boiught anytnig on Vinted but I would agree with this in terms of ebay, I dont open parcels right off sometimes not until the weekend and then only if I have time. SAme with Amazon

In fact Ive been stung a few times by this because I think once or twice it was past the return date and it was the wrong thing and I couldnt return them!!!

Peterrabbitismybrother · 12/03/2026 21:04

I don’t press it if I’m slightly unhappy with the item but it’s not bad enough to raise a dispute over.
E.g. I recently bought something sold as “kids age 10” but it was clearly an adult size 10. For the £2 I paid I can’t be bothered to raise a dispute / risk seller retaliation especially as the buyer has to pay for returns

Trotula · 12/03/2026 21:05

I do it promptly if I’ve collected the parcel and been able to check it properly but like to do that in daylight, it’s easy to miss flaws in artificial light.

on occasions when I’ve been away for the weekend my OH has picked it up and so there’s been a delay in the checking.
As a seller I really appreciate buyers accepting the item as OK promptly, particularly when they’ve asked me to send ASAP and I’ve had to make a special journey to the next town.
I had one particularly annoying buyer who asked lots of questions, needed the item before the weekend, negotiated hard, queried whether I had sent it when I had already advised that I had, wanted to double check the address I had sent it to and then left it to automatically complete!!

purplescissors · 12/03/2026 21:06

I agree with you, and I only buy on there. I press it as soon as I’ve opened the parcel at home and seen that the item is fine - Vinted clearly explains why it helps sellers. I always leave a review too, as the option is right there afterwards and it takes seconds.

I’m not sure why I bother though. I sell on another (collection only) site; I’ve been on there for 10 years, have sold hundreds of items yet only two people have bothered to leave a review (and I know they were all happy as buyers check the items before paying).

Oblivionnnnn · 12/03/2026 21:08

I’ve bought three things this week, and twice the ok button didn’t ever appear 🤷‍♀️ so I just had to message them and say everything is fine. So maybe also partly a glitch.

purplescissors · 12/03/2026 21:11

Handeyethingyowl · 12/03/2026 20:29

It’s just yet another thing to have to remember to do (and now feel guilty about not doing). It’s clearly a system designed to keep people’s money longer and get people back on the app spending more money. Not the buyer’s fault.

It’s to give the buyer a chance to let the seller know if there’s a problem with the item before the money is released to the seller.

monkeynutter · 12/03/2026 21:23

I’ll be honest I didn’t realize it had an impact. I’m usually so disorganized I just let the app do its thing and honestly thought the money was sent at the same time whether the ok was pressed or not.
On the back of this post I have just clicked “everything ok” and will continue to try to do so going forward (subject to the absolutely chaos of day to day life)

monkeynutter · 12/03/2026 21:24

Having re read the post I also didn’t even realize Vinted state it helps buyers by clicking everything ok. Shows how much attention I’ve paid 🤦‍♀️

likelysuspect · 12/03/2026 21:30

I mean its just more bloody head space by the sounds of it. I think people just dont have the space in their heads for more actions, even if its the click of a button

I cant even keep up with clearning my emails, I dread to think whats in them

TeaSqueezingpos · 12/03/2026 20:32

I don’t press it if someone takes more than 3 days to send my parcel and doesn’t at the very least let me know that’s the earliest they can send it out. No one needs 5 days to send something. So if you take your sweet ass time sending, I’ll take my sweet ass time getting you your payment.

Yep, this! If you can't be arsed to send my parcel for 2 or 3 days, you sure as hell can wait 48 hours more for your money.

Same! I think people now have 10 days to send, I’ve had a couple of things sent on the 10th day - fine by me, if I’m in a hurry for something I’m not shopping for it on Vinted. But then I’m not hurrying my sweet arse to open the package and check it either.
i presume if they’re not rushing to get it posted they’re happy to wait for their cash too.

Theseventhmagpie · 12/03/2026 21:49

If the seller delays sending the item to the last minute I don’t bother to respond to the Is Everyone Ok email. If the seller makes the effort and sends it quickly I always respond and leave feedback.

Shhhhitsmagic · 12/03/2026 21:56

I have a vinted pro account and it takes 2 WEEKS to receive payment if they don't leave a review!

ProudCoralBear · 12/03/2026 22:04

I’d forgotten this was even a thing, I think Vinted used to prompt me to do this and they no longer do it. Quite often I forget that I’ve ordered something and then find it chucked at the back of the house a few days later.
