Why won’t (some) Vinted buyers press the “everything is ok” button?!

shouldicontactthisperson · 12/03/2026 19:54

I have spent the last few weeks selling a huge amount of things on Vinted, and at least half the buyers have not bothered confirming everything is ok. I know Vinted automatically assumes it is ok after 2 days then the funds are released, but surely it’s just good manners not to make the seller wait. Especially if you have asked them to post it quickly if you need an item for World Book Day! I always send within max 48 hours. If I am bothering to sell lots of things for £1 or £2 each then it’s reasonable to assume I want/need that money asap. Interested to hear what others think.

I have a vinted pro account and it takes 2 WEEKS to receive payment if they don't leave a review!

The times I've bought from a pro seller, Vinted gives me no option to leave a review until the two weeks are up. Is there a way to complete the sale before that?

ClaudiaWrinklemum · 12/03/2026 22:28

Surely it’s just basic good manners to click one button so the seller can get paid. I can’t in a million years imagine not prioritising that. It takes seconds. You wouldn’t buy something from a shop and be like ‘yeah I’ll pay you when I’m not busy’.

And it’s not a shop. It’s real people who might be in real need of the money.

ChocolateHobbit · 12/03/2026 22:33

It's really not a big deal to have to wait for 2 days for £1.50.

Pinkmoonshine · 12/03/2026 20:00

People are very busy. Get in from work, there’s the parcel, might open it or not and then a lot of home things to do, bed and back to work.. I think it is just another thing to do in this endless task based life and if people don’t it then it doesn’t have any long term consequences.

This is me. I might accept 1 or 2 out 10. But the rest I’m too busy to!

edit: everything I’m buying is either £1 or £2

I get that people sell on EBay and Vinted etc when they need to raise some cash, but isn't Vinted a terrible platform for that?
At least half the stuff I look at has been up for months, I don't get any sense of urgency from it at all!

Namechangeforthis88 · 12/03/2026 22:41

I'm logged into the account on my laptop, not my phone, no way could I see stuff properly on my phone to buy, so to leave feedback I have to get the laptop out etc. Don't necessarily get a chance to do that in time. We don't all just sit on our arses looking at phones the whole time.

MarchUsername · 12/03/2026 22:42

Because I’ll pick up the parcel on the way home, leave it in the car then my husband will take the car to work returning at midnight. The next day I might not use the car, he goes to work again not knowing it’s in the car and I’m asleep when he gets home and before I know it, 48 hours has passed and the only times I’ve remembered the parcel is when he’s at work with the car.

thats happened more times than I care to admit. I need to get better at this! But also I don’t appreciate a message 5 min after delivery asking if I can press everything is okay.

littlesnatchabook · 12/03/2026 22:44

I don't always click it quickly because I don't always open my packages immediately. I'm busy, it often takes me a few days to get to non-urgent parcels. It wouldn't occur to me to open something faster for the seller's sake. It's certainly never occurred to me that they need the money urgently.

I'm a seller too, and I never notice who has pressed what or when. I notice they've received it and that's it. I certainly don't expect buyers to feel beholden to me - I didn't do them favour by selling them something!

SayWhatty · 12/03/2026 22:45

I didn't realise for the first few months that funds were held until you do this.

PracticallyPeapod · 12/03/2026 22:49

I don’t do it often. I don’t like admin tasks of any sort.

JulietteNichols · 12/03/2026 22:57

I've never heard of this. I buy about every 3-6 months, I'll buy something, pay for it, receive it and then not go back on the site for weeks.

Trampoline · 12/03/2026 22:58

What an interesting thread! I was in the peeved category too but now I realise that it is not obvious that pressing the Everything Is Okay button releases payment unless you know this through being a seller.
I'm also confused by the Pro Seller thing- why would anyone be a Pro Seller if you get paid so much later? Is this title forced upon high volume sellers by Vinted? I was confused by the lack of Everything is Okay button when I bought from a Pro. Baffling!

The thing is, you've already clicked several buttons to pay when you bought the item and went through check-out, up-front.
The buyer has already completed the usual social contract around a transaction in full - it is the platform itself that has added a unique and arbitrary extra step to hold the money for a bit longer, which is non-obvious to a casual user (bearing in mind that a casual user is also probably not doing more than skimming any subsequent emails after their parcel arrives correctly) - as far as they are concerned they already paid a week ago.

This made me laugh as I probably do spend too much time on my arse, looking at my phone 😁

Thanks for all the replies - appreciate them all, even those that disagree! It’s interesting to see the POV from both camps and kind of reminds me of the “why do people never rsvp to children’s party invitations?” threads.

Just to add that I always post really quickly - the vast majority are sent the next morning, and definitely no later than 2 days. If a seller leaves it until the last minute to post an item, I completely agree it’s fair enough not to confirm things quickly.

OP posts:
CookingFatCat · 13/03/2026 01:47

Honestly, I don’t click ‘All ok’ and I am not bothered that most of my buyers don’t either.

A week to respond, yes probably unreasonable but 48 hours, I just can’t get too worked up.

GodspeedJune · 13/03/2026 02:04

I sell on there and am not fussed if people release the funds or just leave it to auto complete. Once I’ve sent a parcel off I put it out of my headspace and don’t think about it again until I get paid.

TheDisillusionedAnarchist · 13/03/2026 07:01

it arrives when I’m out at work. I get in at 8pm, put my kids to bed and go to bed myself, dont get the chance to open a parcel and check what’s in it. Get up at 6.30 and repeat.

if the button said confirm parcel had arrived I’d click it but it says all is ok, I won’t know that until I get to open it which might be two days.

Although to be fair I never expect people to rush with posting.

GiveMeWordGames · 13/03/2026 09:27

I only buy and I always click Everything Is OK once I've opened it. I think because I did it the first time and saw that the seller gets the funds at that point. Also I'm buying lots of new clothes because I've lost weight and I'm far too eager to try things on to leave stuff for a couple of days before opening. 😁

I always leave reviews except for when I'm a bit disappointed but there's no point quibbling. eg Once when a very cheap top sold BNWOT came stinking of fag smoke. It was too small anyway so once it was washed it went to the charity shop. I've only left a negative review once when a seller completely mucked me around, asked for more time and then went silent and never sent.

I always appreciate it when stuff is sent fast or a seller tells me they're going to send today/tomorrow, thank them and then mention it in feedback. But I don't expect it and don't really mind exactly when things are sent.

Rollerbarbie88 · 13/03/2026 09:53

I buy and sell so understand the frustration.

I don't click until I have opened and had a chance to properly inspect the item. Some sellers are grim individuals selling items stained with blood, I open everything over my white bath so that any mess - and god forbid bed bugs! Is contained and easily cleaned. If I collect a parcel on my way to work at 7am it isn't getting opened until I am home, have had dinner, and walked the dog.

Also worth noting, if you use royal mail shop drop, the 'everything ok' button displays as soon as the item is delivered to the post office, so maynot have been collected yet.

Wildgoat · 13/03/2026 09:53

I always do if immediately on opening, but I did once forget, I gor dragged into a work issue and it slipped my mind, so it could be that sometimes.

sharkstale · 13/03/2026 10:37

I don't half the time, but it's not due to being rude, I didn't realise the seller didn't get paid until I pressed it (will be aware of this now in future). It's because I always collect the parcel rather than have it delivered, and the notification to press okay comes up straight away. Obviously I'm not home and able to check it at that point, and by the time I have, I forget to do it.

Falllonghard · 13/03/2026 10:42

Not everyone thinks like you. I never click everything ok, I dont care if people dont click it for me either. I dont pay that much attention to it to know when it was delivered and if they clicked ok or not.

I dont care if people take 1 day or 5 days to post as I never need anything that urgently.

I only get rid of clothing and bits that dont fit anymore and I dont really do it to make money, its more about decluttering and the money is just a bonus. Cant get excited over £4 going into my account because I sold a second hand dress.

GardeningMummy · 13/03/2026 10:51

BestZebbie · 12/03/2026 19:56

I often don't. It's because afaict it makes no difference to the seller (I wasn't aware it delayed the money release, as I don't sell) - it just looks like a way to try to drive me back onto the site to impulse buy to me.

No, the funds are released to the seller as soon as you click ‘everything is ok’
