Why won’t (some) Vinted buyers press the “everything is ok” button?!

I have spent the last few weeks selling a huge amount of things on Vinted, and at least half the buyers have not bothered confirming everything is ok. I know Vinted automatically assumes it is ok after 2 days then the funds are released, but surely it’s just good manners not to make the seller wait. Especially if you have asked them to post it quickly if you need an item for World Book Day! I always send within max 48 hours. If I am bothering to sell lots of things for £1 or £2 each then it’s reasonable to assume I want/need that money asap. Interested to hear what others think.

Seems to be two kinds of people, the really diligent and the plain rude.

BestZebbie · 12/03/2026 19:56

I often don't. It's because afaict it makes no difference to the seller (I wasn't aware it delayed the money release, as I don't sell) - it just looks like a way to try to drive me back onto the site to impulse buy to me.

Loveacadburyscreamegg · 12/03/2026 19:56

Totally agree. I sell good quality items at a reasonable price - the majority always sell quickly. I post quickly and wrap nicely, and yet the recipient cannot take 20 seconds to log in and accept the order. It’s very rude as they have & are able to use the item but I have to wait for my money.

IwanttoWFH · 12/03/2026 19:58

Because many people have no manners.

It’s ALWAYS the ones who buy something and demand you send it ASAP, without checking if it’s okay first, that never mark “everything is okay” or leave feedback 🙄

I buy and sell. I always tick the “everything is okay” button to release funds and leave feedback. Most don’t bother. I always leave sellers positive feedback and rarely receive it back.

RenaissanceBaby · 12/03/2026 19:59

Yes!!!! Absolutely 100% this. It’s really thoughtless. I refuse to leave any feedback for those buyers (though I know it makes no difference as they get an automatic 5 stars, but it makes me feel slightly better). I’ve seen some sellers now noting down “prompt acceptance and payment” or similar when they leave reviews, which I might start to adopt so more people get the hint.

Pinkmoonshine · 12/03/2026 20:00

People are very busy. Get in from work, there’s the parcel, might open it or not and then a lot of home things to do, bed and back to work.. I think it is just another thing to do in this endless task based life and if people don’t it then it doesn’t have any long term consequences.

newornotnew · 12/03/2026 20:01

Can you hand on heart say you always do everything every other person wishes you would? Because I forgot to put my mug in the office dishwasher yesterday, and I could forget to click something online too.
People are busy, stressed, ill, dealing with shit.

I think just assume they won't click it, and be pleasantly surprised if they do.

GameOfJones · 12/03/2026 20:01

For me personally as a buyer, I only do this if I'm unhappy with the purchase but don't want the hassle of disputing it or returning it.

90% of the time I'll press everything is ok but not infrequently I'll have items arrive covered in pet hair. The clothing will still be usable but I'm petty so assume if the seller couldn't be bothered to clean it first I can't be bothered to release their funds quickly to them. I know it makes no difference in the long run!

MerryGuide · 12/03/2026 20:02

Normally do but I've one downstairs thats a present for my child who won't leave me alone, sometimes life gets in the way

Golas · 12/03/2026 20:03

Sometimes it takes me a couple of days to even open the parcel, I'm just collecting it and putting it aside and rushing on to the next thing on ny schedule.

FlexiSadie · 12/03/2026 20:03

Sometimes my husband picks up the parcel because I'm on a 12.5hr shift and then i come home and have my dinner and deal with my son and it's basically time for bed so I can get up and do the same thing the next day. Sometimes I honestly don't have the energy to remember to open and check my parcel. It's not personal.

naemates · 12/03/2026 20:03

The timescales are decided by Vinted and everyone agrees to them by using Vinted, you can’t just apply your own preferences and decree that anyone not sticking to your made up rules is rude

@BestZebbieJust curious what are your reviews like??

I do think personally it makes a difference to sellers and try and check my parcels as soon as possible and confirm everything is ok. I don’t get the whole driving back on to the site- you literally just press everything is ok and don’t even need to look at what is being sold elsewhere.

Savonne · 12/03/2026 20:14

I've literally just picked something up at the one stop and was walking home and they were badgering me to do it

Fairyliz · 12/03/2026 20:15

I’m loving all of these posters who are far too busy with life to spend 30 seconds logging into vinted and clicking all okay. Yet funnily enough they have time to login to MN, read your post and type a reply.
Yes it’s rude and annoying op.

No idea, I wasn't even aware I get reviews. I only use the site occasionally, and so I interact with it the same way I do other online shops - I log in, look for the thing I want, buy it if it is there and I like the price, then after a while it turns up and as long as it is the thing I ordered and in approximately the condition I expected I don't think anything more about it. I don't want a parasocial relationship thrown in!

Do you all leave feedback for every item you buy on Amazon too?

maybe they’re just busy.

Probably forgot or didn't know it mattered.

Yes this. Also I didn’t realise it delayed payment to the seller. Will try and make an effort to do it promptly now (admit I was a bit hit & miss before).

Doubletroubledoubled · 12/03/2026 20:29

I’m new to selling on Vinted and couldn’t understand why I was being asked to leave feedback for my buyers as all they had to do was pay.
i joined one of the Vinted.forums and asked the question, and someone kindly explained that if you leave positive feedback for those buyers who confirm everything is OK it tells other sellers that their buyer is likely to be reliable. I hadn’t considered this so now if I have a buyer who does what they should, I feedback thanking them for buying and feeding back,
Although I’ve had no problems with my sales so far I do struggle with the number of offers I receive for items that are already low priced I know that for some money is extremely tight and everyone likes a bargain but asking for 60% off the listed price is a step too far for me

Handeyethingyowl · 12/03/2026 20:29

It’s just yet another thing to have to remember to do (and now feel guilty about not doing). It’s clearly a system designed to keep people’s money longer and get people back on the app spending more money. Not the buyer’s fault.

CaffeinatedMum · 12/03/2026 20:30

I have too much other life admin to do

goingback · 12/03/2026 20:30

I now make a point of checking parcels as I once bought an expensive item as a gift and hid it away. I missed the chance to report the item sent was not the item bought and was quite out of pocket.

TeaSqueezingpos · 12/03/2026 20:32

I don’t press it if someone takes more than 3 days to send my parcel and doesn’t at the very least let me know that’s the earliest they can send it out. No one needs 5 days to send something. So if you take your sweet ass time sending, I’ll take my sweet ass time getting you your payment.
