Why won’t (some) Vinted buyers press the “everything is ok” button?!

I have spent the last few weeks selling a huge amount of things on Vinted, and at least half the buyers have not bothered confirming everything is ok. I know Vinted automatically assumes it is ok after 2 days then the funds are released, but surely it’s just good manners not to make the seller wait. Especially if you have asked them to post it quickly if you need an item for World Book Day! I always send within max 48 hours. If I am bothering to sell lots of things for £1 or £2 each then it’s reasonable to assume I want/need that money asap. Interested to hear what others think.

The timescales are decided by Vinted and everyone agrees to them by using Vinted, you can’t just apply your own preferences and decree that anyone not sticking to your made up rules is rude

Wow you’ve done some crazy mental gymnastics there to come to that conclusion! Try reading the OP again, slowly. It’s not her “own preference” when Vinted release the cash when the buyer clicks that button otherwise the seller has to wait two days. You sell something then you deserve to get paid and 9 times out of 10, it takes a week to be delivered once dispatched so that’s 9 days if the buyer makes the seller wait an additional 2 days for payment. THAT is applying their own preferences, surely!

sunsetsites · 13/03/2026 10:58

I don’t enable push notifications so I’m not particularly going to go out of my way to open up Vinted, go into the sale and click something when I don’t have to.
The seller still gets their money, if they don’t like the maximum timeframe Vinted allow that’s their choice to use the platform or not.

Falllonghard · 13/03/2026 10:42

Not everyone thinks like you. I never click everything ok, I dont care if people dont click it for me either. I dont pay that much attention to it to know when it was delivered and if they clicked ok or not.

I dont care if people take 1 day or 5 days to post as I never need anything that urgently.

I only get rid of clothing and bits that dont fit anymore and I dont really do it to make money, its more about decluttering and the money is just a bonus. Cant get excited over £4 going into my account because I sold a second hand dress.

Right so because you are financially comfortable enough to never need the money from your sales, you’ve declared everyone else as the same?? If I’m selling some things on Vinted then it’s because I need the money! How dare you intentionally make the seller wait an additional 2 days after the 5-7 days that InPost etc take to deliver? How bloody rude! “I’m alright jack, so sod the rest”

Vinted is not an instant cash app, there’s a Malibu window you’re told it can take for your funds to be approved. If that bothers you then don’t use it.

AutumnClouds · 13/03/2026 11:03

I’ve bought and sold, I’m amazed anyone thinks this is rude. Life is already too busy, it’s just another task to do, people have stressful jobs, toddlers and elderly parents to care for, bigger things to deal with than if you get your £2.50 today or in a few days. If the automatic timeline is causing you genuine cashflow problems then that’s a problem you need to try and address, it’s not rude of a possibly equally stretched and stressed stranger to do it for you while they’re dealing with their own life.

GloiredeDijon · 13/03/2026 11:03

I totally agree. Hugely inconsiderate behaviour and very irritating.

60andcounting · 13/03/2026 11:05

Over time I have bought about 20 items from vinted. I only realised after the first few times to click ok.

Thistimearound · 13/03/2026 11:08

The only times I’ve not clicked “Everything is OK” and then never given feedback (even though it will auto 5 star them after 5 days) is when I’m actually not very pleased with my purchase at all but don’t have it in me to start an argument or give bad feedback. Thinking of one time in particular when the (children’s!) clothes STUNK of cigarette smoke..

So yeah it’s me being passive aggressive and annoyed but far, far too polite and timid to take it any further. 95% of the time I do click “Everything is OK” because it’s the polite thing to do.

A maximum window that’s supposed to be!!

I live between 2 places and often don't get the parcel until it is already marked as 'everything is ok'. Even if I do get it, I often don't get a chance to open it for s day or 2.. why is that so odd?

MyMyDelilah · 13/03/2026 11:17

Yep, just had to return an item as the seller posted the wrong item. No correspondence whatsoever from the seller other than to send a label, then they didn’t click the ‘everything is ok’ button. Not a large amount of money or anything but just thought it was a bit off. But as the sale was in effect cancelled there was no option to leave feedback.

Life is busy, I dont have time to worry about everyone else's needs or making sure someone gets their £2 right away. You know the rules of vinted, its 2 days to get the money. If you dont like it then dont sale on there. Try a car boot.

Not quite sure what you meant to type there but either way that’s not quite true - once the buyer clicks “Everything is ok” after they’ve received the parcel, then the funds are released immediately at that point.

Where have you got £2 from?! The items I sell are £50+ Also 2 days is not the ‘rule’ of Vinted at all! 2 days is the time period before Vinted step in and do your job for you! You know the rules of Vinted - if you don’t like that, don’t buy on there!

Oh and it’s “sell” not sale in that context.

Agreed, as a few replies have demonstrated, some people genuinely cannot fathom considering other people; It’s an alien concept to them.
Others, simply do not give a shit as it doesn’t affect them, plain & simple. It takes less than 5 seconds to do, just like raising a few fingers off the steering wheel as a show of thanks when another driver has let you out/waited for you to get past but yet, astonishingly, so many just don’t/won’t and cannot understand why they should…. It’s truly mind boggling to me. I was raised correctly to have manners and consideration for others and tbh it’s really not that hard!!!!!

Sure, but either way it happens automatically after a set period of time and Vinted makes it clear the buyer has no obligation to do it. Ultimately
that’s what you’ve agreed to as a seller.

henlake7 · 13/03/2026 12:42

Not everybody is being a dick tho.
I usually click ok as soon as Ive picked the parcel up and opened it but the other day I left one ages. Not deliberate, I thought I had clicked but when I next opened my ipad it was still waiting to be ok-ed. Genuine mistake on my part!

Hellzbellz25 · 13/03/2026 12:42

I don’t leave reviews for the buyers who do this - I leave them a glowing one if they release the money!

WheretheFishesareFrightening · 13/03/2026 12:44

I don’t have the app on my phone, and I often collect my parcel on the way to work. Sometimes by the time I get back home to my laptop I’ve forgotten I need to log onto Vinted, or sometimes I’m straight out and I don’t get to my laptop to log in and press the button. Sometimes I don’t get chance to check the parcel is actually okay until close to the time limit.

stapletonsguitar · 13/03/2026 12:49

Normally with me it’s just that I’ve forgotten (I always do it eventually but sometimes need a nudge) and sometimes it’s because the item was delivered when I was away so i can’t confirm if it’s ok or not until I get back.

Good for you. You will just have to wait 2 days if they dont click the button. No one has any obligation to mark it ok so you get your money straight away. Its the way of vinted... like I said, do a boot sale.

People are very busy. Get in from work, there’s the parcel, might open it or not and then a lot of home things to do, bed and back to work.. I think it is just another thing to do in this endless task based life and if people don’t it then it doesn’t have any long term consequences.

This. I'm not deliberately trying to be awkward, it's just I might not have had time to open it and check it for a good couple of days at least. I had no idea people would think me rude, or that many people would be in a tearing hurry for the money - I'm not usually buying high value items).

I do always give good feedback, it's just it might take me a day or two.

Ok, I'm genuinely surprised to read the level of intensity/vehemence you feel about this.

You clearly see this as a matter of rudeness/etiquette people should definitely be aware of. I'm not, I'm afraid. I'm not young and buying stuff in this way is quite new to me. I had no idea there were apparently so many unspoken social rules around the interaction!

Just to reassure you, I am generally polite and considerate - hold doors open for people, say thank you back if they do that for me, thank people who let me out while driving etc.

It's literally I had no idea people had these expectations.

I always have. It good manners. Fosters good buying and selling practice.
