Wynne Evans - another “incident” re: Strictly

Have just read that Wynne had made an inappropriate remark on the Strictly Tour last month and is now taking time off his radio show.
Having rather dismissed the hand thing on Strictly this year and speculation that there were issues between him and Katya I am now having a rethink.

I hadn’t heard about the inappropriate comment but have the same reaction as you OP.

Agree - I didn't pay much attention to the detail, but this doesn't look good.

I saw something on the BBC website last night, but they didn't say what the 'inappropriate' remark was.

It was something about a spit roast

He joked that he wanted to spit roast Janet Manrara in front of other dancers and celebrities when they were in Glasgow. He stopped dancing for one show because of ankle problems which wasn't true but he's back dancing so the show bosses can't be that bothered.

The worst part of this is that Katya probably got into trouble for reacting to him on live TV, then was expected to tell people it was a joke and continue working with him as if nothing had happened. Fuck the BBC. Honestly.

I'd thought he seemed quite nice from a small bits I'd seen of him (I don't watch Strictly) but that's twice he's been out of order. It's disappointing how bloody widespread it all is, isn't it?

I knew when it happened on the show that the crap about it being banter was lies. I just want to know if Katya was forced to pretend it was, or she chose to so she could continue dancing in the series. If he had owned up at the time and apologised and said he wasn't thinking, whatever and shouldn't have touched her that way, then I would have had way more respect than the clear lies on the ITT sofa. Which very much echoed Amys experience with Fanny John Jules.

He needs to be kicked off the tour. Strictly have proved nothing has changed

He's so gross. I think they should just let him go now. I feel bad for Katya, imagine having to work with him for such an extended period of time and have to pretend to like him. The BBC really just never learn.

Hearing what he’s alleged to have said has also made me rethink the Katya thing during the Strictly show as well. I think he’s just a sleaze

What happened with Amy and DJJ? He came across as rather arrogant I recall.

He should leave the tour, which will be over soon anyway and focus on his adverts.

He seemed OK on Celebrity Masterchef, but has done himself no favours on Strictly.

He was reported to have bullied her in training. And they came on the ITT sofa to say all was fine, when it clearly wasn't. I think he expected to do better than he was and blamed Amy for it.

strictly just seem to brush this under the carpet until recently. Aliona Vilani did not particularly her time with Greg Wallace - there were lots of complaints at the time but the BBC did nothing (although he did go on week 2).

What an appalling thing for him to say. He's a sleazeball and either stupid or arrogant with it - he made the remarks at a press call FFS - where journalists are filming and recording.

It looks like he's been suspended from his BBC radio show - I sincerely hope GoCompare cancel him too.

I'd put money on him playing the mental health card now.

The latest comment, and in public, is breathtakingly awful.
Katya was put in a dreadful position last year. They either kicked him (and her) off Strictly or she had to put up with him.

And I bet there were loads of women who had already spoken about WE's behaviour and were ignored.

@Freysimo I just came on to say that this has vibes of Gregg Wallace about it. Wonder if this will go the usual way with more and more reports of his behaviour being revealed now the doors opened a bit and TPTB claiming they knew/saw/heard nothing 🙄.

Ugh. I am a huge Strictly and Katya fan. Awful that Katya had to put up with this. Her face said it all. The pros are in such a precarious position.

His comment about Janette is disgusting. The fact that WE did this in front of the whole cast including JM's husband speaks volumes.

When the hand around the waist incident occurred, my gut feeling was that WE was "handsy" and Katya was working hard to placate the situation.

Hadn't heard about the Danny John Jules bullying stuff but not surprised. He was on House of Games a few weeks ago and was a complete plum there too.
