How long were you and DH together before engagement and then marriage

Feeling sorry for myself and want to see how our situation measure up to others.

Just under 2.5 years to engagement, wedding not planned yet. He wants sooner but I’d rather wait until 2025. No rush I don’t think. Everyone has their own time scales.

Got engaged on our 10 year anniversary! That said we met at University at 18. How long has it been OP?

8 years before engagement and then 18 months later we got married 😊

Oh, and we got married 10 months later.

Together 2 years 6 months when we got engaged and married 6 months later. We were 21 and 23 when we met.

9 months until we were engaged and then married 7 months after that.

We were together for 5 years, engagement was only 4 months long. We had 20 good years and then 5 horrendous ones.

Lol it's been 9 years and we're still not engaged 😂 We got together young though so not yet 30.

6 weeks until we got engaged.
Nearly 9yrs before we got married.
Together 20yrs now.

Engaged Jan 2014.
Ds born September 2014.
Married July 2015.

Got engaged when we were together 9 years, married 2 years later .

5 years until we were engaged. Got married a year later. Had a baby 4 years after that.

2 weeks 😬 Knew each other for 2 months. Married for 23?years now 😁

Started going out with now DH when I was 17. Got married in lockdown December 2020 which was exactly 6 years since our first date in 2014 (at kfc) xxx

6 months before engaged, 3 months to married. Been together for 27 years.

We were married 3 months after our first meeting.
Been married nearly 25 years now.

Together 3 yrs before getting married which was probably too quick in retrospect. Kids came 7 years after getting married and we have been together 17 yrs in total.

Engaged after 10 years (we met when we were 18). Married two years later. Now divorced

We got engaged about 18 months after we met, we got married on the anniversary of our second date, we got married at the place we met.

We joke that we alternate boring odd years and exciting even years. God knows what’ll happen in 2024 😂

Together 6 years when engaged, 7 when married. Already owned a house Together and had a child Together before engagement

Er met Aug 2008, engaged Dec 2008, married Aug 2011. Still very happily together.

Everyone has their own timescales.

We met August 2013, engaged March 2015 then married May 2018.

It worked perfectly for us, my brother got married before us so my parents urged us to wait as they wanted to give us money towards our day and they wouldn't have been able to do that if it was too close to my brother's wedding. We managed to save up for the other costs and did the entire day and honeymoon without any debt.

We knew people who met, got engaged and married in the time between our engagement and wedding, and I've known people together for a lot longer before getting engaged and married, but we did what was right for us.

10 years before we got engaged, then we got married three months later. We've been married for 6 years and have two children.
