How long were you and DH together before engagement and then marriage

Feeling sorry for myself and want to see how our situation measure up to others.

9 yrs, then married 8 months later

9 yrs was way too long it did ruin the romance of it

Engaged after 3 years ( on a drunken night out, not planned but we were happy to run with it … very romantic🙄😆😆).
Married 3 years after engagement.

Everyone is different and has different circumstances, try not to compare. If ye are happy together, that’s the main thing.

Took 10 years to get engaged then another 7 years to get married - we had children and bought /renovated a couple of houses in that time so it wasn’t a priority. I didn’t even think about planning a wedding after the engagement and I knew I definitely didn’t want to spend huge amounts of money therefore we had an intimate beach wedding with just our children present.

Engaged at 19 months, married at 3.5 years. Would have married one year earlier but we were finishing uni.
