How long were you and DH together before engagement and then marriage

Feeling sorry for myself and want to see how our situation measure up to others.

Together over 30 years (since we were about 19), 2 children and neither engaged nor married! We're not religious or particularly traditional, plus I have a slightly complicated family and don't like being the centre of attention.

Two months from meeting to engaged, married 6 months later.

Married for 18 years😁

24 ish years and not engaged/married. Neither of us wanted to.

Engaged after 9 days and booked wedding 5 months later
But then covid hit so we actually married 11 months later
Been married just over a year now and building a house.

Together for 10 years before we got engaged, married 6 months later while pregnant with DC1
In fairness, we knew from early on that we would get married, it just took us ages to be bothered enough to do it.

Engaged after 3.5 years. Married at 5 years. My sister got engaged after 6 years and they have now been together 12 years and haven’t married yet

Met aged 24 and 29
Moved in together about 2 years later
Married 8 years after meeting
(Didn’t really have an official engagement
Given a very lovely ring, which I “might want to wear on my left hand” 😆 about 5 years after meeting)
30 years and 2 children later, still going strong 😁

Got engaged after 18 years and married at nearly 20 years. We didn't want to rush things either!!!!

Got engaged when we'd been together just over 4 years. Got married 11 months later, five years to the day that we met.

Moved in together after 8 months, bought a house together after 16 months, engaged after exactly 2 years, married after 3 and a bit, first child less than a year after we were married.

15 and a half years in now.

We were together just under 2 years before engagement age married 8 months later.

Engaged after 6 months married a year later, we were 31 and 32.

Should add have been together almost 27 years.

Engaged 11 years after we first met. Married 9 months after. We had DC and a house by then😅.

Met at uni. 18 months dating then 8 months from engagement to wedding. Been together almost 20 years now.

Met for a beach walk one Sunday, had lunch on the Monday and he proposed at a very romantic castle hotel the following Monday night! I was totally gobsmacked but I said yes with no hesitation.

Together 9 years (met at 20), then engaged and set a date which is the whole point IMO, married at ten years.
Together 31 years now.

Engaged after 4 years
Married after 2 years

Engaged after three months, married after 19 months. We had known each other as friends for 11 years before getting together. But I wouldn't live with him till we were married.

We never got engaged, just decided to get married one day so arranged it, did it 3 weeks later. We had been together a few weeks then.

Over 20 years now, 3 DC and still like him

Married in March this year.

Met in Feb, engaged in June, married in August, ( no, not a shotgun wedding!) been happily married for 52 years!

Met at 21. Decided exceptionally early on to get married. There was no proposal because it’s not our thing. Got married at 28. Still happily married at 42 with 3 kids.
