How long were you and DH together before engagement and then marriage

Feeling sorry for myself and want to see how our situation measure up to others.

Met late 20s. Lived together after 18 months. Engaged after four years and married six months later. Over 20 years ago.

There are so many variables, OP, that there’s no ‘right’ answer. It’s what’s right for your age, stage and circumstances. If you’re unhappily waiting for a proposal, you can propose. Or just say ‘isn’t it about time we got married?’.

It doesn’t need a special ceremony. Nor does getting married. It can be as simple and cheap or as lavish and complex as you like.

Engaged 6 months after we met, married 5 months later. We're still here, 18 years and 3 kids later...

With ex DP for 6 years, he proposed, I said no. With now DH 2.5 years, he proposed, married by 4 years together. There's no magic formula, every relationship is different.

12 months to engagement, and other two and a half years till marriage.

6 years until we got engaged and then married 2 years after that. Now been married a year and a half

We will have been together 15 years next month. Not married. Plan to at some point but not a deal breaker. We are happy and our relationship is strong. I think when you get to this point you question whether there’s much point and why change anything when what we have is good!

13 years together then we got engaged, got married a year later

Almost identical to us, except rather than get engaged in December 2008 we had DD1 in December 2009

DH1- engaged after 6 months, married at 2 years, ds at 4 years, split up at 7 years. Was only 25 when we got married, did everything too fast and now have to share ds with him which is hard on me and my ds12.

DH2 - engaged after a year, married at 4 years, been together 9 years and still going strong. No dc together, he has 2 ds's and 3 dc is plenty.

18 months when we got engaged and married about a week before the second anniversary of when we met.

Engaged after just over a year, married after three.

Met in July, engaged in October same year, married December the following year as we wanted a Christmas wedding. We were both 29 when we met.

Engaged after 3 years. Married 15 months later. I had just turned 30 when we married. Been together nearly 10 years now.

9.5 years together until engagement (aug 2021) married 5 months and 1 day later (Jan 2022)

Engaged after 3 months.
Married after almost 4 years.
My choice as we'd both been married before and I wanted to make sure we'd work.

Three months after meeting,DW and I moved in together. Engaged a year after that, and married 5 months after that.

i don’t think I got engaged lol but we married after 2 years and . Have been married 15 and a half years.

We got married about 18 months after first getting together, but we were friends first for years and lived in different counties initially. Also we were a bit older so knew we both wanted to settle down.

Engaged after 4.5 years together (pre kids but bought a home together)
Then married 4 years after that with two in tow. I thought it'd never happen.

8 months before engagement then 2 years between engagement and wedding.
