My vibrator has disappeared…

Ummmwhereisit · 04/03/2022 14:47

Name changed for this because vibrators.

I’m home alone and was about to indulge in a spot of alone time before having a quick nap.

My vibrator is not in the hidden box in my bedside drawer as usual. I have absolutely no idea where it is. I’ve searched my partners bedside drawer and it’s not there either. I use it infrequently so can’t recall when I had it last but I’m 99.99% certain it will have gone back in the box that it always does… it’s an old box for something unrelated, think iPhone type, with an insert in and the vibrator sits neatly underneath so even if someone were to open the drawer and get as far as opening the box they wouldn’t necessarily know it was there. Obviously partner knew.

We had a few days away last week and both the cleaner and my parents had keys for the house. I was away last night and am not long home.

Where the fuck is it and who the fuck has moved it?

Mine went missing once, my ex admitted he taken and thrown it away because he was jealous of it.

2catsandhappy · 04/03/2022 14:52

Kicked under the bed.
Between mattress end and headboard.
Behind cupboard.

Ummmwhereisit · 04/03/2022 14:52

That would be odd Marmelace as we use it more often together than anything else but it’s a possibility I guess. We’ve been together over 25 years now though so you’d have thought this might come up before if it was an issue.

I’m actually feeling really weirded out by this. Why would anyone do this?

Have checked under the bed, not there, not behind bedside drawer and not under the drawer and the base of the cabinet. No space around mattress really but just had a feel and can’t find it there

Do any children or step children live there?

movingsoon13 · 04/03/2022 14:55

This reminds me of the time me and my partner had moved house for me to start university and I had put it in the top drawer in the living room, a university friend who was working on a project with me came back one day to work on the project whilst having dinner, I was in and out quite a bit due to cooking , I only noticed a few days later that mine had vanished, my partner swore he hadn't moved it (he quite liked it) and I never thought much of it until the same friend who came round told a group of us at a party that him and his girlfriend 'had started experimenting with toys' as they were both quite prudish typically. I did wonder if he had stolen it from the top drawer in the living room. Mortified.

movingsoon13 · 04/03/2022 14:55

Just to add we never found it, moved out a year after gutted the place and it was never found

Tlollj · 04/03/2022 14:56

Must be your in laws or one of the kids.
Can’t just buzz off on it’s own.

MrsMingech · 04/03/2022 14:56

I had a neon pink bra disappear from my drawer once.

I knew for a fact it was there because it used to show up amongst all the other born colours.
I couldn't find it anywhere.

Then about 2 years later it just appeared back in my drawer like it had never moved.

I just want to know why the person did that. I threw it away after that. Just to be on the safe side.

takingmytimeonmyride · 04/03/2022 14:58

My friend once told me that boxes for iPhones etc sold for quite a bit on eBay. Maybe your parent or cleaner took it, thinking you wouldn't notice as it was just an empty box. And now whoever bought off eBay is going to have a nice surprise! Grin

Ummmwhereisit · 04/03/2022 14:58

Two children, although one in early 20’s and one younger teens. Think it’s unlikely they’ve taken it but had quick look in DD’s room and can’t see it. Obviously. I guess they’d hide it better. But the thought of that makes me feel pretty queasy. I mean I clean it obviously but still. That would be very uncool. And both kids have an aversion to ‘gross’ stuff so can’t imagine either would have touched it. Or even known it was there unless rooting about because as I say it was reasonably well hidden and clearly intended to be private.

My ex was a really jealous weirdo. Don't worry too much as there is probably a simple explanation. Have you spoken to your other half?
Ummmwhereisit · 04/03/2022 14:59

@takingmytimeonmyride Lord. Can you imagine.

@Marmelace no not yet as he’s at work. Don’t want to have that conversation where his boss might overhear Blush

I was about to ask if you have teens in the house. Case closed: one of them has it. Probably the younger one.

Pegasushaswings · 04/03/2022 15:00

Why would your cleaner or parents go rummaging around? Do you think they are likely to? Are you absolutely sure you didn’t use it then leave it somewhere and possibly the cleaner has tidied up? I’m being serious, we thought a bin had gone missing from our rear garden as we were having fencing put in, we both looked and were convinced it’d gone only to find it in the garden just not the place we had left it in (quite messy due to works ongoing)

Ummmwhereisit · 04/03/2022 15:01

Should say that the box is still there. Just very empty.

Maybe the cleaner thought it was a milkshake maker Grin

GregBrawlsInDogJail · 04/03/2022 15:02

Ps: older kids and teens absolutely go through your stuff. Especially the "private", aka good, stuff. If you don't want them to investigate your lingerie, sex toys, alcohol, prescription drugs or anything else "adult" and taboo, you'd better lock that shit up.

Check the bags both you and DH took away last week in case you forgot you'd packed it or he brought it along in case you wanted to use it.

Did the box have the lid and insert in place as normal?

Gregsprinkles · 04/03/2022 15:04

Just can't imagine a teen taking their mums vibrator. Way too gross, surely?

Winterjoy · 04/03/2022 15:04

Is the box missing and was the original product in the box valuable? Maybe someone's nabbed it thinking the content matched the packaging - if so they must have had quite the shock when they got it home and looked inside!

Ummmwhereisit · 04/03/2022 15:04

I don’t think my parents or the cleaner would rummage and certainly can’t imagine either would take it. They have had plenty of opportunities in the past should they be that way inclined.

Almost certain I haven’t used it and not put it away. I’m a bit prudish about it and always take care to make sure it’s well hidden, usually only come out with me and my partner when I’ve had a few wines and feeling a bit more carefree but the last time I used it was on my own. I just can’t remember when exactly.
