So grey is on the way out, so polish your crystal balls, what colour schemes do we have to look forward to walls, flooring and furniture wise.

French Navy. On no authority whatsoever!

JohnWolfenstein · 18/08/2019 18:24

Fabulous, just ordered a charcoal and white kitchen so that's definitely the death knell for grey!!

picklemepopcorn · 18/08/2019 18:24

Thank goodness!

I reckon texture and pattern are back. I'm looking forward to patterned carpets again- at least in some rooms.

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 18/08/2019 18:25

Hopefully mustard and blush/ rose pink/gold are on the way out with grey.

MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours · 18/08/2019 18:25

oh I should meet it coming back then, I painted ds's room grey about 20 years ago, and was just thinking it could do with a refresh

I don't like to rush into decisions and always said once the colours were done they were so DONE!

justasking111 · 18/08/2019 18:48

Found some french navy in a bedroom on instagram.

Hate mustard with a passion, ditto that purple maroon look.

Wallpaper was cool ten years ago, I don't think it'll be that as not enough time has gone. I hope it's not that bloody awful sponged paint effect they did in the 90s.

I don't mind a greyish or cool toned neutral. Anything except beige/brown/magnolia combo.

mumwon · 18/08/2019 19:03

1970s style maybe {grin] avocado with mustard & brown wallpaper giant flowers in those colours with multi coloured carpets (that don't show the dirt my dm use to say) & that lovely [ghastly] avocado bathrooms with those equally lovely [godawful] small pinkish tiles (ducks & runs)

Who is going to tell Mrs Hinch? Shock

BelindasGleeTeam · 18/08/2019 19:06

Mint and down to sage grey/green is the thing apparently

Northernsoullover · 18/08/2019 19:08

Its all going navy on DIY on a budget. I have always hated the grey. Why would you paint your house in such a dull colour?

Hotbiscuits · 18/08/2019 19:08

Hmmm I think earthy tones are due a rethink, especially brown (yes sorry!). Saw some amazing tobacco walls in a sitting room-gentleman’s club style.

Loveislandaddict · 18/08/2019 19:08

What’s the difference between French navy and ‘English’ navy? Surely, navy is just navy. Ie. Dark blue.

madcatladyforever · 18/08/2019 19:09

Thank god I hate grey it's just awful. Especially with black.

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 18/08/2019 19:10

The equivalent of it being in B&M. = it’s over with.

Pipandmum · 18/08/2019 19:10

No navy is passé too. However I’m not changing my kitchen (grey) or my end livingroom walls (navy).
Green/teal is the colour now.

Redyoyo · 18/08/2019 19:11

Borders stuck around the middle of the room, or to be extra fancy a foot off the ceiling

Mileysmiley · 18/08/2019 19:12

I agree .. I am about to decorate in rose gold Grin

Bumblenut · 18/08/2019 19:13
