So grey is on the way out, so polish your crystal balls, what colour schemes do we have to look forward to walls, flooring and furniture wise.

French navy is slightly lighter/less black than French navy isn’t it?

Pigletthedog · 18/08/2019 19:15

Haha a nice bit of terracotta Grin

KatewithaH · 18/08/2019 19:15

Bright colours like the Changing Rooms 1990s era!

Pigletthedog · 18/08/2019 19:16

X-post with Chippy!

Bumblenut · 18/08/2019 19:16

Please not black woodwork. Just spent two years getting rid of that.

Eh? Grin

Bumblenut · 18/08/2019 19:17

If you also tell me that a hatch between kitchen and dining room is now completely the thing I will vomit out of my eyeballs in anger.

ChippyMinton · 18/08/2019 19:18

You know it! I have been perusing colour charts this weekend, for red tones in the bedroom, and terracotta in the lounge.

Bumblenut · 18/08/2019 19:18

Joxer - I dunno. Ignore me, I’m on the gin!

nchanged · 18/08/2019 19:18

Navy's, emerald/peacock green.

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 18/08/2019 19:19

I’m going for lilac and green with silver swirl decals. Like my teenage era bedroom. Grin

DontCallMeShitley · 18/08/2019 19:22

Grey is so gloomy an nothingy, and I hate mustard, teal and lime green that supposedly brighten it up. Grey looks better with a lot of white, used internally in vast amounts it makes me feel as if I am in a shed.

BelindasGleeTeam · 18/08/2019 19:24

Apparently hazel brown is in too 🙄

BillyAndTheSillies · 18/08/2019 19:27

I'm throwing pastels in to the mix.

Zaphodsotherhead · 18/08/2019 19:29

English navy is 'navy'. French navy is 'le navy'.

And I predict those whites with a 'hint of a tint' might be on their way back...

ElsieMc · 18/08/2019 19:31

Isn't Honey Spice paint colour of the year whatever that is? I am ahead of the game and have a brown wall in my living room, my dh loved the seventies.

MulticolourMophead · 18/08/2019 19:32

We're doing cream walls (we rent) and decoration downstairs is all pastels. My own room is teals/blues and it feels so restful.

ShagMeRiggins · 18/08/2019 19:33

What’s the difference between French navy and ‘English’ navy? Surely, navy is just navy. Ie. Dark blue.

It’s all to do with how much Primary Blue or Primary Yellow is in the mix. It can make a world of difference to a room (or a person, or an exterior, etc).

I'd love it to be French navy, one of my favourite colours.

Lovemusic33 · 18/08/2019 19:34

If grey is on the way out I will need to paint the whole house 😲

BentNeckLady · 18/08/2019 19:36

It’s all about jewel colours at the moment. So much nicer than grey!

RippleEffects · 18/08/2019 19:38

I think natural.muted tones. Stone, beige, brown, green. Pared down simplicity of natural wood plus green plants bordering on functional utility look.

bobsyourauntie · 18/08/2019 19:39

Thank god for that, I hate grey. I do not have one single grey thing in my house because I am not someone who has to follow the trends, I do what I like in my house, so lavender in the bathroom, turquoise in one bedroom and pink in another.

TheSheepofWallSt · 18/08/2019 19:39

I heard terracotta/ red earth tones are coming back.
Not even kidding.

SD1978 · 18/08/2019 19:40

@justasking111 - I love that wall paper- but the room is still ostensibly grey. I doubt grey will go anywhere- it's less harsh than white, miles better than cream. You need neutral to appreciate accent- and that needs to be a plain colour. I think it's versatile and will continue to embrace it in rooms I reckon I need to!
