So grey is on the way out, so polish your crystal balls, what colour schemes do we have to look forward to walls, flooring and furniture wise.

I wasn’t keen on the grey/gray interiors and I see a lot of depressed looking grey front doors.

I work in a home decor shop and grey is still very popular sales wise at the minute but not as a lone colour anymore, it's tending to be used as the matching neutral colour with ochre's and dusty pinks.

Navy is really coming back the past 4-6 weeks in our sale figures as is pale gold (not metallic bright gold) and rust orange.

Reds, blacks, lighter blues not selling very well if that's any indication.

CedarTreeLeaf · 18/08/2019 20:45

I can't see people doing whole rooms in navy, it would just be too dark.

BIWI · 18/08/2019 20:46

This is going to be the new colour.

I decree it, because this is my new kitchen Grin

Farrow and Ball (ooh, get me!) Hague Blue

Touchmybum · 18/08/2019 20:49

Teal is definitely having a moment. My living room is brown/cream/teal and lately I've been able to get lots of furnishings in teal that I didn't see before!

ineedanotherholiday · 18/08/2019 20:50

@CloudsCanLookLikeSheep don't even joke about wood chip 😬

I have grey in my home, a little bit in the lounge in the wall paper mixed with other colours, kitchen and probably will be in nursery. I don't tend to do whole walls though but find it a good colour to pair with others.

I don't really follow trends but I do like the navy look. I also have one room in navy. The all grey houses on insta that follows mrs hinch are not my taste at all!

HappyDinosaur · 18/08/2019 20:50

That's good I've always loved grey, but I hate to look like I'm following a trend. Perhaps if I keep it all, everyone will forget that it was ever fashionable! Grin

Titsywoo · 18/08/2019 20:50

@Mileysmiley I have that paper in my dining room!

Nothingcomesforfree · 18/08/2019 20:50

My money is on French navy. Goes well with wooden floors and with whatever metallic stuff you have in whatever shade.
Also good with beige as well as other miserable gothic colours.

Spinnaret · 18/08/2019 20:51

Not my actual sitting room or my dogs, but I have recently decorated mine in these colours/wall paper. It looks awesome. Glad to know that grey has died.

I hate grey. I have none in my house but my hall is a lovely blue colour (f&b oval room blue). I love navy but dark colours show marks easily.

PrincessPeachy23 · 18/08/2019 20:55

This comment has ended me! Vomit out my eyeballs 😂😂😂

PrincessPeachy23 · 18/08/2019 20:57

@Bumblenut I mean 😂

PantsyMcPantsface · 18/08/2019 21:02

I don't personally like cream/brown toned neutrals so I'll be sticking to white and grey. Grey will be in in my house until I next get the motivation to decorate but I like it as a good base neutral to work with various colours off. If I hold my ground long enough it'll be cool again eventually.

Seems to be navy that's the current one cropping up everywhere so that must be deeply uncool by now.

CorBlimeyGovenor · 18/08/2019 21:03

I've felt that it was time that grey moved over to let Magnolia back in. It's due a revival.

Cinammoncake · 18/08/2019 21:03

Yellow, pink and cream

cornstarch · 18/08/2019 21:03

Teal and jewel colours

ZaZathecat · 18/08/2019 21:04

It can only really flip back to shades of cream or white as there has to be a light neutral shade somewhere. Nobody's going to paint all the rooms navy or teal (are they??)

CorBlimeyGovenor · 18/08/2019 21:05

Good god! Those dogs!!! Have just noticed them!! There's going to be a splash of crimson on those walls at any moment. It might coordinate though.

Troels · 18/08/2019 21:08

Dado rails with flowered bottom half and plain top half.
You heard it here first.*
Oh hell no, I only got rid of all that shit when we moved into this dated house we bought. I'm not going back there.

I'm hoping for some blues, only not navy.

NoTimeToBeUnwell · 18/08/2019 21:10

I love magnolia.
I tried to buy some in a well known shop the other day and there was 1 tiny section with 1 size tub available everything else was grey and white .

YourVagesty · 18/08/2019 21:10

Distracted by a previous poster so sorry for the derail, but seriously...

whatever was the point of the dado rail?

crimsonlake · 18/08/2019 21:12

What does it matter what the trend is? Find your own inspiration and decorate to suit your own taste.

cookieoclock · 18/08/2019 21:19

When I first started following a few home accounts on Instagram, I thought they all had a grey filter to make every room look the same Blush I didn’t realise people have their whole home grey.
